The book is plain boring and outdated for my taste. The message is clear but it is a message based on blind faith rather than on actual analisys of facts. I couldn't get rid off the feeling that the book was written for drop-outs and then retrofitted for the corporate shark wannabies.

Helpful to improve your outlook, attitude, confidence, motivation, inspiration, and focus. Certainly beneficial to read. I would not rank it the best. The paramount book on success is still the timeless classic by Dale Carnegie, "How to Win Friends and Influence People."

I'm not really big on the self help/inspirational genre of books, but I really enjoyed this book and think that it is one I will go back to again and again for a motivational pick-me-up.

Yes, much of the advice is common sense, and certainly many of the ideas have been co-opted by more "modern" positive thinking gurus, but I really do think that reading the book has, at least for the time being, changed my outlook on things and made me see that some of my thinking was self-defeating. I enjoyed many of the anecdotes that Schwartz peppered throughout his text to reaffirm some of his positive ideas.

Five stars.

The motivation he inspired is undeniably powerful. However, its somehow exaggeration can pull you off from the reality.

Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Provocative, appealing and controversial.......2006-08-02

Fomenko has succeeded to convincingly demonstrate the misconception about what "history" factually is... It is fiction and -like we can read and judge for ourselves- no science. It indeed is "make belief" only. I "discovered" Fomenko while studying the "old" history of Al Andaluz, Spain. Having found too many contradictions in available data, having seen too many forgeries as to pretend the importance of christianity for its decline, I ventured out to find Fomenko, who convinced me that we know little if anything for sure of the epoch before the XI-century. However, the integration of the Arabic-Islamic cultural history into the heavily distorted Western fails... There are some attempts to fit "the budding new religion" (Islam) into Fomenko's scheme, but they are too weak to be taken seriously and too often focussing on Turkey as the region where things started to influence the West, which is untrue at all.
Islam certainly was no "new religion" in the X-century. That the highly cultivated Al Andaluz ruler Mohammed-I could have been "mirrored" down in time into some myth about the "illiterate" founder of Islam itself is highly speculative. Nevertheless, Fomenko convinces me about the processes that were involved in forging a christian history. Intriguing and controversial as his books are, I recommend them as to rethink our current position in time and space and simply verify what was claimed. It is a "good" book, but not for bedtime reading... Mundus vult decipi, the world wants to be cheated. Fomenko's readers will understand why.

pharaohs lived in the 3rd century AD.......2006-02-16

Traces of white wine were found in Tutankhamen's tomb however there were no record of white wine in Egypt until the 3rd century AD, 1600 years after the young pharaoh died according to the traditional chronology. http://www.newscientist.com/channel/being-human/mg18925395.400
It can be interpreted as a contribution towards New Chronology theory that pharaohs lived in the 3rd century AD.

I really can't understand how people could find ANYTHING useful in this book. All there is to spell working is a candle and flowers? Come on.

I urge you to look elsewhere. Money Magic by Patricia Telesco is good, Scott Cunningham is good, etc.

An effective tool in the search for prosperity........2001-08-06

I really enjoyed this book. I own a lot of spell books and what separates this from all the others is its simplicity. Dolnick tells you why you are doing the spell and exactly how and when to do it. The only thing I found missing was a further explanation as to why particular flowers or herbs were used and if we could substitute (i.e., some flowers are expensive and not always in season). There is little-to-no spiritual reference in this book so you do not have to be Wiccan or Pagan to appreciate it (Wiccans/Pagans may miss the witchy atmosphere as I did at first); Dolnick mainly relies on astrological information and herb/color lore - again, without much explanation (my opinion, the only failing of the book). If you like your spells with a little more flexibility, you may feel a bit constrained. I like that there are spells to work during the waxing and waning moons and that prosperity can be about letting go of fear as well as drawing opportunities. I am very glad that I purchased this book.

i have noticed most spellbooks out there concentrate on some specefic deity/ies however this doesnt use deities so anyone can practice these spells. this book would be good for people in business or anyone that wants to bust their self esteem,it is a good book,but right now i dont think it will give me much use

Although I liked this book well enough, and I enjoyed the fact that the author also gave practical information for overcoming life's obstacles, the spells seemed a bit stale and she didn't really offer much for personalisation. The spells are all focused on business and helping your self-esteem, which can be very helpful in day-to-day life. Recommended.

I love this book. It's simple, it's easy to read, the spells are uncomplicated (and, in my opinion, the more powerful for it), and effective.

Spellwork is often shrouded in mystery, fraught with complication, made obscure. Dolnick gives us spells for real life, and they work! The theory is explained well and the spells are for things we all seek. Don't hesitate, go for it!

Magic of Thinking Success is the continaul look and inspiration into the mind of Dr. David Schwartz. Written over 20 years ago, the concepts and recommendations in the business community are still relevent today and form the basis of other works such as "First Break all the Rules". What enjoyable about all Schwartz books is the simple lessons that are explained thru real-world stories and professional insight. At the end of each chapter is a recap that allows you to pick the book up at anytime, review the lesson overview and quickly be inspired again.

If you have not read any of Dr. Schwartz's books, I recommend you start with "The Magic of Thinking Big" and then this book or his Dreams books.

You will not be disappointed with the positive words conveyed by Dr. Schwartz throughout all his works. Truly an inspiration

I actually bought this book before Magic of Thinking Big which was unavailable at the time.Dr. Schwartz commented on all of the positive mail he recieved from happy readers on the 30 second commercial in Schwartz's first book. I tried it--it worked.Magic of Thinking Success will get the garbage out of your head that has been holding you back.I also recommend The MAGIC OF THINKING BIG by Schwartz which I bought later.

This is a great book. helps you thru various stages why we are often afraid to do things. More opportunites are lost due to lack of it rather than making wrong decisions. Help one arrive to decions. Do what you fear & fear will disappear. This is really a great book. Has helped me make crucial decisions. When you are able to do the thing that you fear... suddenly you are new person.

An ideal

Everything you do, every word you speak, starts with a thought. This thought is a force. It has a power to make you act in a certain way. Even those thoughts that do not result in action, thoughts that just pass through your head, have an importance. They affect your personality in subtle but crucial ways.

What provokes such thoughts? There are a few such motivating forces. I am one of them.

Pictures

My job is to draw pictures in your mind. These pictures combine to form a portrait, a model of the person you want to be. You travel through life, and you collect such pictures. Step by step, you develop an image of an ideal person living in an ideal world. The values and goals of this image, of this model, are values and goals you need. They are the building blocks of your ideal. Introducing you to these values and goals is my job.

For instance as a young child, you see a firefighter. He sports shiny boots and yellow helmet. Expertly, he kills a roaring fire.

This sight inspires you. For days afterwards, you play 'firefighter'. You destroy great infernos. You boldly save lives. This game, this fantasy is my work. Here I introduce you to qualities such as Bravery, Skill, Public service, etc.

Then, as you mature, I shuffle these pictures. I show you heroes who are more complex, more rounded, more human.
