Book Description
It reads like an intriguing mystery novel but it is REAL! With each step William Dear takes, you will develop the persona that you are the investigator. Then, at the end, make yourself a juror and with the facts you've uncovered through the investigation, mark your juror's ballot as to the innocence or guilt of O.J. Simpson.
A new `major suspect' has been revealed for the first time in Dear's detailed six-year investigative report with shocking facts, photographs and documents that have never before been made public! Mr. Dear who is considered to be one of the `Top Five Investigators in the World' invites you to walk step-by-step through his first hand investigation into the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman.
Customer Reviews:
Wow!.......2007-03-23
We all watched that weird "low-speed chase." We all watched at least a little bit of the trial... and we all argued about whether O.J. had done the murders. A lot of us thought he'd gotten away with murder. When I was a graduate student a couple of years later, a group of us did a study on public attitudes toward O.J.'s guilt/innocence (results: black males thought he was innocent, white females thought he was guilty, black females and white males fell into the middle of the statistics).
Now, WOW! William C. Dear's extensive, complete, detailed analysis of the evidence shows that O.J. didn't do it! His son Jason did it! Mr. Dear has convinced not only me of this, but also a number of crime experts, friends of O.J., psychologists, etc.
Not every part of Mr. Dear's case is equally strong. The motive, for example, is a bit weak - supposedly Nicole stood up Jason after planning to have a large party at the restaurant where he was a chef. But the psychological information on Jason; his history of violence; his strange behavior throughout his life....they point toward guilt. And O.J.'s behaviors too. He said, remember: "I didn't do it, but it's all my fault!" (He meant, because Jason turned out so messed up and did it.) Also, the morning after the murders, O.J. hired a top murder lawyer TO REPRESENT JASON. Nothing came of this, because the LAPD never really took a look at Jason; but come on! It's pretty clear why O.J. did that. And there is much, much more evidence.
The book is written in a slightly grainy first-person style that I found quite enjoyable. It's a bit rough and spotty, but that makes it all the more believable. I never would've thought I'd rate a book like this one so highly, but I must admit, I read it until I fell asleep and then got up and started reading again in the morning.
This book deserves more attention than it has received. Kudos to William C. Dear.
Neither OJ nor Jason did it.......2007-01-21
OJ was still in love with Nicole and wanted her back and Jason had no reason to kill Nicole.
Look at the "facts". Supposedly, the victims were killed from behind by having their heads pulled back and their throats slashed. No black man in history has ever killed anyone like that.
What most likely happened?:
It's a known fact that Nicole had an illegal drug problem and limited income. Nicole owed the drug dealer and couldn't pay. The drug dealer's hit man went to kill Nicole and Ron Goldman happened to be an innocent bystander and had to be taken down so he couldn't be a witness.
Fred Goldman has become a man obsessed with ruining OJ. Get a life, Fred and quit blaming the wrong person. Nothing you do will bring your son back and no monetary gain will replace him. You will hurt every day of your life just as I have from the murder of my own adult son 13 years ago. Your relentless stalking of OJ is frightening and has completely consumed you. Please seek psychological help.
Outstanding.......2006-11-26
Watching the trial from the UK I always felt that it didn't add up. Expert testimony says there was not enough blood on OJ. Ron Goldman fought his murderer, but OJ had not a single bruise on him. There simply wasn't enough time to fight and murder 2 people and get rid of knives and blood soaked clothes. Even OJ's drains were removed to test for blood being washed away from a shower - not a trace. This book is outstanding, and is the only explanation that fits what happened. Highly recommended. What a pity the US legal system isn't interested in finding out the truth.
New Twist on the Simpson Case.......2006-08-30
Most everyone knows the details of the Simpson case and all the "major" books written about it. This one easily got lost in the shuffle. William Dear spent years researching the crimes, the victims and the suspect (Simpson) and his family. His book is well written, clear and concise. He offers up a new suspect, one never previously discussed before. His supporting evidence is good and it will definitely give you food for thought and pause about what you think you know about the Simpson case.
I found "Guilty" an interesting, and even quick, read. I went into the book convinced that the right man was tried for the crimes and basically got away with them. I don't know that Mr. Dear changed my mind totally, but it did make me realize that there were a lot of twists and turns in this case that weren't previously mentioned.
A nice literary effort, and definitely a worthy job of research. Give it a try.
Ear Witness.......2006-08-22
I am a 72-year old white woman who lived on Gorham Street in June, 1994, it being the first cottage you would pass when walking West from the Mezzaluna Restaurant. If you were to go by there now you would see that the five little cottages which once occupied a large corner lot have been replaced by a huge, ugly condominium.
Although I heard the howling dogs (and it was dogs, not dog) that night I did not note the particular time, only aware that it was well into the 10 o'clock hour. But when I talked to my next door neighbour she told me that she always let her little dog out at 10:30 p.m. to do its business and when she heard the dogs barking, looked around, thinking that she had forgotten to let her own dog back in. Because of that fact alone, I have always believed that OJ was innocent. When I saw on TV Mr. Heidstra on the witness stand stating the time as 10:40 pm when he heard the "Hey...hey...hey!" it confirmed my belief that the murders had occurred, not according to the prosecution's scenario, but the timeline presented by the defense. In my view it was impossible for OJ to have returned home within the defense timeframe, shower, dress, dispose of bloodied garments and then catch a cab to the airport. Also, his demeanor at the airport didn't jibe. I reported my neighbor's conversation to the defense investigator but she was never called as a witness.
Additionally, I noted the lack of blood on the white carpet, the lack of bruising on OJ, the absurdity of throwing a glove behind one's own house to incriminate oneself, especially when there were plenty of places where OJ could have tossed it out the window if he had driven home from the murder scene. And there were many other doubts in my mind: Why would a loving father murder the mother, then abandon his small children in a house with an open door? Why would he leave a bloody pair of socks in plain view in an otherwise immaculate room? And would one of his children be a close match to OJ's genetic makeup?
I have always felt that some of the evidence was planted, particularly the blood in the Bronco and at Rockingham, the bloody socks (or cross-contaminated in the lab), and most particularly, the glove found at Rockingham. This is the only part of Mr. Dear's excellent investigation that I still have doubts about. I still find it difficult to believe that OJ was on the scene itself, given the timeline. But Dear's fascinating book does present a plausible explanation of the identity of the real killer. He is to be commended for his unpaid efforts over many years to get at the truth. I'm just sorry that it has been six years since its publication that I discovered his book.

Book Description
No one knows the story behind the sensational headlines of the Scott Peterson murder trial better than defense attorney Matt Dalton. For six straight months after Peterson's arrest, Dalton was the defense's only full-time investigative attorney on the case. During that time, he lived in Modesto and investigated every element of the case, interviewing scores of witnesses, reviewing more than 35,000 pages of police documents, and meeting almost daily with Scott Peterson in jail.
What he has uncovered will astound even the most informed observers of the Laci Peterson murder case and challenge the most deeply held beliefs about what really happened to Laci Peterson on Christmas Eve, 2002.
This is the first book to go inside the Peterson defense team, and the only book to detail all the evidence that the jury did not hear -- evidence that might have led to Scott Peterson's acquittal, and that will surely play a crucial part in his pending appeals.
Among the revelations in Presumed Guilty:
- Reports from numerous witnesses who saw Laci Peterson alive and well the morning of December 24, after the police claim Scott Peterson had already killed her; none of them testified at trial
- The story of another woman, eight months pregnant, who was harassed by two men the morning of December 24 only five blocks from the Peterson home
- The burglary that reportedly occurred directly across the street from the Peterson home on the morning of December 24, and the confessed burglars' questionable claims that the burglary happened days later
- Previously unreported details of the autopsy reports on Laci Peterson and her son, which cast strong doubts on key elements of the prosecution's case
- The disappearances of six pregnant women, in addition to Laci, reported missing and presumed dead within eighty miles of Modesto between 1999 and 2002
Compelling, provocative, disturbing, Presumed Guilty is the fascinating story of one lawyer's relentless efforts to find the truth behind one of the most complex and notorious murder cases in American history.
Customer Reviews:
Interesting...BUT.......2007-02-15
Not very convincing. It is very hard to buy the fact that an innocent Scott Peterson would have allowed his defense to ignore so many facts, if indeed they are facts; i.e. the 6 eyewitnesses, the scream, the brown van, the other pregnant women who vanished...
This book is mainly about accusing the Modesto police of misconduct. If the allegations here ARE true-then of course, it is horrifying and scary, as any one of us could be convicted if we have the misfortune of losing a spouse to murder...
Also, if true, I have to trust the Supreme Court will ultimately grant a new trial. But this book does not show any facts that stand out-why aren't those witnesses available and screaming aloud still?
Our FRIGHTENING justice system.......2007-02-12
I'm not sure I like the writing style of the author, but overall it's a good book. I gave it 4 stars because I'm so grateful that Matt Dalton wrote it. Our justice system is frightening when someone is tried and convicted in the media long before he was even arrested. It's frightening how credible leads were ignored. It's frightening that Scott was convicted and put on death row with no evidence. This book goes into all of that.
In my personal opinion, the trial was a joke.. Amber Fry and her mistress press conference as the "motive" who offered nothing as far Scott being guilty of murder.. the Rocha family and their news conferences implicating Scott long before he was arrested. I think it all contributed to Scott being convicted in the media long before his arrest, and I think it contributed to ignoring the credible leads and evidence discussed in Matt Dalton's book.
5 stars to Matt Dalton for writing this book.
Though not particularily well written, the information presented is interesting..........2007-01-18
...as well as interesting to see some of the thought processes (or lack thereof) of the defense team. Although I doubt any of the information presented here would change anyone's mind....I've found there's not a lot of 'free thinking' allowed in regards to this case. I still wish someone would write a book providing insight on why the public latched onto the case, and so vehemently believe in Peterson's guilt and hate him with such venom, as if they were 'attached' to the victims in some way.
The thoughts and ideas Dalton brings out, are some of the same ones I had during the investigation and trial. There are still many things the defense did, or didn't do, that baffles me. Chief among this is why they didn't attack the timeframe of the robbery? Dalton seems perplexed as well.
I didn't particularily believe the 'devil worshiper' theory, but after reading the book, I wonder why, if it's that prevelant in the Modesto area, it wasn't looked in to further.
As for the negative reveiws here....I think it's more of the emotion I mentioned above. Very few 'observers' seem to be able to think rationally about this case. IE - anything the defense says bad, anything the prosecution says good...same with the families.
It would be interesting to learn how this case is progressing through the appeals process.
Ignores the obvious.......2007-01-05
This book ignore the obvious question that should come to mind:
if indeed, there was evidence that would have exonerated Scott Peterson or at least have shed reasonable doubt on the prosecution's case, why did his legal defense team not present it in court? Where were those witnesses, where was the evidence?
Unlike some other defendants on death row, Scott was not represented by an incompetent, inexperienced and/or overworked public defender. His legal defense team was the best that money could buy: a renowned criminal defense lawyer (Mark Geragos) backed up by a team of top-notch attorneys, investigators, paralegals, etc etc.
0 stars, actually!.......2006-10-16
In a nutshell, the ludicrous scenarios and insinuations in this book are so stupid and insulting to ANYONE's intelligence that I'm surprised it got published at all. A lawyer wrote this garbage, huh? I wonder where he graduated from. Perhaps he obtained his 'degree' from the same place Scott Peterson got the 3 fake ones hanging on HIS wall? Unbelievable! Did this 'author', and I use this term loosely, EVER do any real research on this case?
This Dalton character who wrote this book obviously just needed a money fix. Must be a mediocre-at-best attorney to have to stoop to this level of ethical malfeasance. A total lack of integrity on his part is an issue as well.
For those who care about Laci Peterson and the TRUTH of her murder read Sharon Rocha's book, "For Laci" as well as Catherine Crier's Book, "A Deadly Game". Also, do some research on the investigation itself-a lot of information is in the public domain. If I could find information on this case myself, a lowly civilian, then surely Dalton could have. I just don't think he wanted to, frankly. I believe I could write a better and more accurate book all on my lonesome!
Skip this book unless you truly don't think Scott Peterson killed his wife and son.

Book Description
For more than eighteen years I have repeatedly studied the subject of righteousness, and I am still amazed by it. Each time I thought I fully understood righteousness I would uncover deeper layers of revelation knowledge, which forced me to admit I had much more to learn.
It is much deeper than we think.
Our righteousness in Christ is the centerpiece on which Christian faith is built. Everything God's Word promises us hangs on it, and the entire structure of our salvation is built upon it. If we are going to walk in the joy of our salvation and the power of the promises we have in Him, we must understand our righteousness in Christ.
When Christians hear the word righteous, nearly all of us think we understand what it means. The biggest part of the problem is that very few understand. We only think we do. Often, our religious traditions have distorted our understanding of righteousness. Consequently, the authority that God intended for us to have has been rendered totally ineffective.
This means some of our religious traditions have to die. That's okay. The truth is, many of us have been at the mercy of inaccurate scriptural translations injected with personal theologies. We've been victims of a "Well, that's the way we've always done it" kind of thinking. The watered - down traditions that have resulted have seduced many into a powerless, ineffective form of religious thinking instead of the vital, dynamic faith that really can move mountains.
Think about it. If traditions and religious thinking have all the answers, then why are so many of us living broke, disgusted, and defeated lives? Why are our kids still plagued with drugs? Why are debts still overwhelming to so many of us? Why are so many people still dying of cancer?
The raw truth, for so many people, is that nothing is working. Why? Because something is missing. A major part of the equation is simply not there; that is, a proper understanding of our righteousness in Christ.
This book was written to help God's righteousness become real in your life. In fact, I want it to be so real that Satan loses his grip on you. I want you to experience the life and power God intends for you to have through the gift of righteousness. If you attain an unshakable confidence in the righteousness of God, then this book will have achieved its purpose and the righteousness of God will make a mark in your life that cannot be erased!
Customer Reviews:
You are righteous!!!.......2005-09-24
Brother Dollar is a teacher of righteousness along the lines of Brother E.W. Kenyon. However, Brother Dollar has a gift for pointing out the obvious without sensationalizing or becoming too wordy. He goes straight to the point and lets you know who you are in Christ Jesus and what you are entitled to because of what He did for us. Brother Dollar explains in simplistic terms our right to be forgiven because Jesus became our substitute and how we are able to come boldly before the throne of God because of who we are in Him. This book is a must read for all Christians who believe they are simply a "sinner saved by grace" and that "Gods gonna get you for that." Brother Dollar points out how our God is a loving and merciful God who wants us to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Him. This is a wonderful book for those who wish to know who they "truly" are in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Not Guilty.......2005-08-26
In his book NOT GUILTY, Creflo Dollar reminds us that we cannot purchase our salvation. This gift was already bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. Simply put, God just wants us to believe in him! "Our attitude should resemble the attitude of God" (Philippians 2:5, 6) and we should aspire to conduct ourselves more like Jesus did while he was on the Earth.
Dollar explains that righteousness is something that is available to everyone - Christians and non-Christians; however, it's based on personal choice to stand with God. He compares this principle to a master key that will unlock our blessings. It is important to be renewed in the word of God to have a successful life filled with prosperity. To be prosperous, we must first take care of our personal needs and then try to impact the live of others. This right standing with God ultimately leads to the joy of salvation.
This covenant is a bond to God, which compels us to lean on our blind faith, and Christian values. To aid in our understanding, Dollar differentiates between a belief and our faith. A belief is defined as something that is mentally accepted as truth, although absolute certainty may be absent. Whereby faith is defined as acting on what you believe. Therefore, faith is what carries belief into action. A simple example of faith is a chair. What is she talking about you may ask? The explanation is easy. When you sit on a chair, you don't give it much thought, but you have the faith that the chair will support your weight. This same type of faith is crucial in our relationship with God. Dollar urges Christians to match their actions to their faith. In the New International Version of the Bible, James 2:17 states that "faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
NOT GUILTY is not a book to take lightly. It requires careful reading and meditation. It provides biblical understanding to the precepts of kingdom principles. The flow is easy, not preachy. Once again, Dollar has provided his deep insight to help enlighten a biblical topic. Dollar loads the book with biblical references to infer his meaning to the reader.

Book Description
In this provocative work, Betty Holcomb offers a fresh and thoughtful analysis of the real costs and benefits of women working outside the home. Puncturing popular myths, she takes a hard look at decades of research and shows that working mothers suffer stress, fatigue, and guilt, not as a natural outgrowth of juggling a job and family, but because of stereotypes, hostile workplaces, and policies that have yet to catch up with real life. With the right support, she argues, the revolution of the working mother could lead to richer and more satisfying lives for women and children -- and men -- alike.

Customer Reviews:
Kept me guessing!.......2006-03-13
I have only discovered Patricia MacDonald not to long ago and have been devouring anything I can read by her. Not Guilty was a
great story about Keely Bennett who has a 9 yr. old son and a husband who suffered from terrible migraines. She comes home one day to find her husband dead, a sucide and finds her 9 yr old son Dylan in the closet after discovering his father. In comes Mark who says he is Ricards childhood friend and is a lawyer and offers to help Keely get Richards insurance and such in order. They fall in love and marry and have a child...but then tragedy strikes again when her second husband is also found dead. The DA who previously was engaged to marry Keely's second husband is out for revenge and tries to pin it on Dylan, Keely's brooding teenage son. Its a wild ride and keeps you on your toes. I enjoyed this book very much and read it in a day!
I hope Patricia MacDonaly keeps them coming.... still a few I haven't read yet and today will run out and get them!
Great Novel.......2005-07-16
The first book that I ever read by Patricia Macdonald was Lost Innocents. Since then I have been reading all of her books. Not Guilty is just another one of her great novels. It is full of suspense and drama. Macdonald writes about her characters in a way that make you feel for them and what they're going through.
Awesome suspense thriller that kept my attention...........2004-04-26
I have read some of Patricia MacDonald's books previously and have always found them to be well written, with unexpected twists and turns. Ms. MacDonald writes in the same genre as Mary Higgins Clark - the everyday world surrounding an attractive and sympathetic heroine becomes a place of horror. This tale, which involves both a woman's relationship with her troubled son and her loss of two husbands who were also childhood friends under suspicious circumstances(one to suicide, one to an "accidental" drowning) is loaded with well drawn characters and that "turn of the screw" type of suspense that makes you keep reading. Yes, some will say it's predictable - but that's the beauty of it - you start one of Ms. MacDonald's books and you do know exactly what you're going to get. And, in today's crazy world, that's a wonderful thing. I highly recommend "Not Guilty" to those of us who love women in jeopardy novels and Lifetime Movie Network movies and aren't ashamed to admit it. I loved this book and now want to read all of this author's books!
Good...But Not Great.......2004-01-24
I think that this book is worth reading, but it's not an edge of your seat page turner like some other thrillers. The plot is interesting (if not a wee bit far fetched) and will keep your attention. It just doesn't get thrilling and scary and make you anxious like some other books I've read.
It is the story of Keely Bennett. Her first husband committed suicide and her son found him. While dealing with this tragedy, Mark Weaver swoops in as an old friend of Richard's who has to come to help Keely with the legal aspects of his death. He falls in love, they get married and have a baby together. Too good to be true? Yes! Mark is found dead...presumable an accident in their pool. Until a woman scorned, the District Attorney, tries to pin it all on Keely's son. The story from there is about Keely trying to protect her son...and what they find out about Mark's death. It unravels at a quick pace and doesn't leave you wondering for too long.
It's a good book...but not too "thrilling."
Readable book....but not a thriller.......2003-06-28
I kept turning the pages and thought this was a fast paced read but not extraordinary. The plot is decent but there were still questions left unanswered for me.
Product Description
The re-writing of history is as old as history itself.
In 1946, it was a "proven fact" that Nazis made human soap.
This "fact" has since become, apparently, mere "rumor".
The forensically untested "rumor", of Soviet origin, was for many years in the Peace Palace of The Hague. Peace Palace officials eagerly showed it to trustfull visitors for many years telling them it was authentic; but never apparently answered letters from inquisitive persons asking if it was ever tested. This "human soap" has since been quietly removed from the story line.
In 1943, it was "rumor" that Nazis were steaming, frying, poaching, parbroiling, electrocuting, vacuuming, and gassing Jews. By 1946, the "gassings had become "fact", while the steaming, frying, poaching, parbroiling, electrocutions and vacuumings remained mere "rumor", in spite of the fact that Pohl was covicted of "steamings" (and hung) in the Fourth Nuremberg Trial.
The "evidence" that Nazis "gassed" Jews is qualitatively no better than the "evidence" that they steamed, fried, poached, parbroiled, electrocuted, or vacuumed them. Thus, it is legitimate to call this "evidence" into question.
This book contains, not a re-writing of history, but a simple guide to historical material which has been forgotten. The 312,000 notarized defense affidavits presented at the First Nuremberg Trial have been forgotten, while the 8 or 9 prosecution affidavits which "rebutted" them are remembered.
This book contains a great many references to page numbers. They are not there to confuse, impress, or intimidate the reader, or to prove the truth of the matter stated, but to help interested people find things.
Whether the statements of the defense are more credible than the human soap, socks and hamburgers of the prosecution, is for the reader to decide.
