Toshiba's Tecra 8200 is a commendable notebook in a number of ways. Despite being a strong business notebook, lightweight notebook, or desktop-replacement unit, it doesn't command a huge price premium. It weights just 5.5 pounds, yet includes a Pentium III processor clocked at 850 MHz, 128 MB of memory (expandable to 512 MB), and 14.1-inch active-matrix screen with 1,024 x 768 resolution. Additionally, the system has a 20 GB hard disk drive, an 8x DVD-ROM drive, 56K modem, and Ethernet.
