Product Description
The DACPGM RAID controller provides enhanced performance and reliability by incorporating EDO ECC error-correcting RAM, standard with every controller. The error-correcting RAM prevents corrupted data from being written to the disks, a problem which can sometimes occur in ordinary RAM. The DACPGM achieves its outstanding performance by combining an onboard Intel 960 RISC processor with Mylex's own high-performance firmware. The dedicated RISC processor offloads RAID management functions from the host CPU, resulting in higher RAID and server performance. To further raise the bar in reliability, the DAC -PGM includes Mylex-optimized battery backed cache, which can prevent data loss due to power failure. Unlike conventional battery backed cache implementations which only tolerate 24 hours of power outage, Mylex supports 72 hours. The Mylex firmware maintains its maximum battery performance by constantly monitoring battery condition and performing automatic drains and re-charges, when necessary.

Start with an iMac. Trick it out with a big hard disk drive and a slightly faster processor. Voilà, you've got the iMac SE. This model includes a PowerPC G3 chip running at 700 MHz, 256 MB of RAM (expandable to a gigabyte), and a 60 GB hard disk drive. It also has a CD-RW drive, 56K modem, and 100 Mbps networking. The system's integrated case design, in a translucent gray that Apple calls "graphite," houses a 15-inch monitor with 13.8-inch viewable area. The system comes with both the classic Mac OS 9 and the slick new Mac OS X installed.

This is not a computer.. This is iMac........2003-08-10
I don't understand much of computers, but I just can't think why do people use Windows PC if iMac exists... Let's start with the design, sweet, fantastic.. And Mac Os X is so much easier to use, so much better than Windows... Windows looks old-fashioned when compared to Mac Os X, looks really bad. The only thing that I do not enjoy about iMac is that there aren't many games for it. But this is still my favorite computer, so good, so beautiful, gorgeous.
If you want a good computer, this is what you've been looking for. Once you become an iMac user.. You'll never come back to Bill Gates again.
If you're looking for a computer get a Mac........2002-07-25
If you want a ... computer or you feel that you must have what virtually all your friends have, don't buy this computer. But if you want a good computer that is easy to learn and use and will out-perform and out-last your friends' PCs get this iMac -- or any other Mac for that matter. It's true: MACS ARE BETTER THAN PCs. They're easier to learn, easier to use, and far more reliable than PCs. Yes, Macs cost a little more initially (after all Toyotas and Hondas cost more than Kias) but studies show that PCs can quickly lose their initial savings in maintenance costs. And don't worry about the alleged shotage of Mac software; all of the major pieces of software are available in Mac versions -- which are easier to use than the PC versions. Also don't be confused by processor speeds; because of superior design, Macs are typically comparable in performance to PCs with twice the quoted processor speed. If you've got the courage to buck the crowd and go for quality and performance, do yourself a favor and get a Mac. This one is a great place to start.
yesterdays model.......2002-05-20
I have had this little machine for about 5 months now and Its workin great. The simplicity of the OS is wonderful! It literally took me less than 5 minutes to get connected and on the internet. While OSX is very, very stable It leaves me wanting the speed of 9. The programs I use this computer for are photoshop7, indesign2, and illustrator10. A G3 isnt exactly the best computer to be running for these programs. A new g4 imac is what I really wanted but my financial problems kept me from purchasing one. If you have the money and you will be doing animation, photo rendering, etc. then there is no doubt that you want a new g4. Check out the new emac, it's looking very nice and is the most affordable g4 on the market. (at the moment) But you should really find out what computer is best for your needs and what you can afford. Read alot of reviews and ask alot of questions, because buying a computer shouldn't be a trial and error situation. Know what you're buying!
iMac-An amazing computer!.......2002-04-27
The iMac is an excellent computer to use, especially at home. I own I 333 Mhz/Grape iMac which I think is great, but the 700 Mhz/Graphite blows it away. It is much faster and has many more accessories. You can now burn CD's on the iMac and there is much, much more memory space to make your iMac work at top-notch speed. I recommend that you get this iMac.
Excellent computer for home.......2002-01-12
This is an excellent computer for home, it provides all the things needed for any home task, it is also great for digital video an image management. The only thing it makes me not give it a five star rate is that is not to expandable, any way, if you are not planing to add more hard disck drives and there is no problem to add any other stuff as external peripherals, this is a great product.
