AcceleRAID 170 is an entry level single channel PCI to Ultra 160 SCSI LVD RAID controller that brings the performance and fault tolerance of RAID to workstations, entry level servers and high density modular rack mount servers for ISPs and e-business applications. One Ultra 160 SCSI LVD channel capable of data transfers of 160MB/s, along with the ability to connect up to 15 devices for a capacity of 1.08TB per controller, makes the AcceleRAID 170 a phenomenal performance engine for all RAID levels. The AcceleRAID 170's comprehensive RAID management capabilities come from Mylex's RAID EzAssist and Global Array Manager (GAM). RAID EzAssist, Mylex's BIOS resident software, allows users to easily configure their RAID via automated menus; customized menus are also offered for advanced users. GAM's RAID management utilities allow users to remotely monitor and manage their RAID subsys-tems on line using industry standard protocols.

Useless, even when it was first released........2006-02-23

I bought this thing when it was first released in 1999. Even for the time, the technology was substandard and the operating system was primitive. It's pretty much a useless gadget that doesn't even look cool by today's standards. Honestly, my first generation Palm Pilot was more useful than this thing.
