5 out of 5 stars Love My Cingular.......2007-03-17

I've been with Cingular for 7 years and my billing has always been accurate
(I've heard horror stories about other providers). I live in MD close to
the PA line and found when I went north I was in Roam-they accomodated my question about this by adding "no roam" to my 39.99 plan at no charge. When I was getting billed for Internet charges (I do not use the phone for that) Cingular immediately removed the charges and put a block on that so
I couldn't accidently go on-line. Every month for 7 years my bill has been
the same, within a few pennies. And twice when I forgot to mail my payment I got a $5 charge - but they did not just cut off the service.

5 out of 5 stars Cingular Coverage is much better post AT&T Merger.......2006-11-25

I have to admit, a few years ago Cingular's GSM service was just ok in the DC area. Now that they have completed the merger/assimilation of ATT and you use either networks towers, coverage is much improved. I see a lot of people boo-hooing the service. Ok no network is perfect, yes I occasionally drop a call but heck who doesn't. The point is either these people are using outdated TDMA phones or just have unrealistic expatations about having 5 bars of coverage in their basement. I have been with them (orginally CellularOne) for 12 years now and I have excellent coverage throughout the DC/Balt suburban area.

1 out of 5 stars Cold Customer Care.......2006-06-07

I had my cell phone STOLEN and Cingular could care less - would not waive the penalty for 'breaking the contract' of $200, would happily "replace" my phone with an upgrade for $200, or I could just keep paying until the plan was up, with no penalty, while my service is suspended (seeing as how I have no phone!!) - either way, it costs $$$ and Cingular is happy! While I am NOT.

1 out of 5 stars Bad Plan, Bad Service, Bad Network.......2006-04-27

While my cell phone useage has not really increased, my phone bills since switching to Cingular are through the ROOF! The reception is poor, i can't even use it in my house in NW DC and my phone gets terrible interference noises. It's going to be cheaper to pay a cancellation penalty than to keep this till the contract runs out. Very disappointing

1 out of 5 stars cingular jail.......2006-02-17

Worked great in Europe, but in the DC suburbs there are dead spots all over the place. Can't drive for 5 minutes (in a major metropolital area) without being cut off. The rollover program is great - I have 6500 rollowver minutes, but, alas, can hardly make a phone call..

I got this phone before Martha Stewart went to jail; she went to jail after I got this contract, and now she is out.... and I still have this contract!!! Test it carefully and beware of the the 30 day return limitation.
