Hard Drive: The 60 GB hard drive (4200 RPM) is becoming the average size for notebook PCs, providing enough capacity for storing documents, digital media files, and productivity software.

Processor: The Intel Celeron M Processor 380 is designed specifically for mobile computing, offering a balanced level of mobile-optimized processor technology, good mobile performance, and exceptional value. The 1.6 GHz speed resides at the very top of the spectrum for this processor (as of October 2005). It also features a 400 MHz front-side bus (FSB) and large 1 MB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance.)

Memory: The 512 MB of built-in memory (DDR SDRAM) is fine for basic productivity and multimedia software, and it offers what's becoming an average RAM speed (333 MHz). It has two memory slots in total, with a maximum memory expansion up to 1 GB (2 x 512 MB), which is a bit small in comparison to other notebooks in this line.

CD/DVD Drive: Offering the latest in DVD writing technology, this multiformat DVD/CD drive is compatible with both DVD+ and DVD- disc formats as well as dual-layer (DL) DVD+R discs, which can store up to 8.5 GB of data. Good system.......2006-11-21

I bought this system almost 1 year ago (Nov 26 '05) and have only had one problem with it, the dvd rom failed. However, it only took 3 days to receive a replacement from the time I contacted HP to receipt of the product. Now that my friends is customer service! I am still amazed by this and will, from now on, buy only HP computers. Although I may switch to an Apple but if I stick with PC its only HP for me!
Oh! By the way, my 1 year warranty was due to expire 3 weeks after I placed my call to HP, Lucky me!

Just to add on the product itself; It's a good system. I paid $650 for it and it was a decent price for the hardware specs back then. I required a Dvd burner and this was the only system offering this at that time which also included a 60 gig HD and 512 mb ram in this price range.
Obviously, all I do on this machine is very simple things. I can't play games (only basic ones) nor do any video editing but come on, if you think you can do that kind of stuff with this price and specs you must be a hick. I used it for school (univ) and that's what it's good for.
