1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this phone........2007-06-04

I have been sent two of these phones and none of them worked without some kind of defect. I am now in the process of purchasing another phone, but not this one!

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST PREPAID CELL PHONE.......2007-04-10

I HAVE HAD THIS MOTOROLA V171 FOR A YEAR NOW AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. THE FEATURES ARE SO EASY TO UNDERSTAND. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS FOR NET 10 WIRELESS ARE VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND. THIS PHONE IS A NET 10 WIRELESS PHONE. NET 10 WIRELESS IS A SUBSIDIARY OF TRACFONE. I WOULD THIS PHONE TO ANYBODY LOOKING FOR A PREPAID CELL PHONE PLAN. I LOVE IT BECAUSE ONLY FOR A LIMITED TIME YOU GET 300 MINUTES FREE UPON ACTIVATION OF YOUR PHONE. I WOULD ALSO STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT IF ANYBODY PURCHASES THIS MOTOROLA ACTIVATE IT ON [...] ITS A WHOLE LOT EASIER THAN CALLING.

1 out of 5 stars Not worth the price.......2007-03-09

My Motorola C139 with Net10 crashed on me. I called Net10 and they promptly sent me out a new phone, except they sent me this flip phone (V171). I liked my candy bar phone and didn't want this flip piece of junk. I was happy with Net10 service up to the point of my old phone failing, and then things quickly went downhill. Net10 would not transfer my number to the replacement phone, even though I had minutes available on the old phone.

I gave my wife the V171 to use and took back from her our Cingular phone, which works awesome with no problems. She had problems all the time with the V171. She had to always type in the area codes for all numbers dialed, even the local numbers. She also had problems trying to dial a number and the phone would not dial after pressing all the numbers in the phone and hitting send. In my opinion, the V171 is completely worthless.

Overall, I am a very dissatisfied customer. My recommendation is to stay away from this phone and this service. Go shop Cingular for all the great deals they have!

4 out of 5 stars Pretty happy.......2007-02-08

I've had this phone (V171) for almost a year now. I've had no complaints at all. The battery has excellent life on it. My kids have thrown this phone, I've dropped it, it sits in my purse - yet the phone doesn't have a single scratch, crack, smudge on it and it has never quit working. I get great reception even in my house, where my old Nokia phone failed. The ringtones are okay but for a prepaid it's good. The only complaint that I have is the inability to add a wallpaper to it. It has empty spaces for it yet I have yet to find out how. Overall, I am very happy though. Net10 prices are awesome!!

3 out of 5 stars Motorola V171 phone (NET 10).......2006-09-02

I've been a Net 10 customer for a year now. I have a few minor complaints....I cannot download ringtones in my area and I had to reactivate my voice mail as T-Mobile voice message system hijacked my phone and I was unable to retrieve my voice mail messages. Receivers of my phones calls say I cut in and out even though I hear them crystal clear. For the price, I shouldn't complain. I do not use it often so it is nice to carry over my unused minutes. If I had to do over, I would not purchase this flip phone. It feels like the phone is going to break in half everytime I open it, its not very stable. Customer service is OK but it needs to be 24/7. Overall, I am somewhat satisfied.
