There's also a vibrating alert for when you want to be discreet. You can even create your own custom ringers with the included ringtone composer. And perhaps most importantly, the integrated airtime balance display shows you how much airtime you've used and how much is left, allowing you to keep an eye on your minutes.

Messaging and Tools
If you need basic messaging capabilities, the 1100 has you covered as support is built-in for sending and receiving SMS text messages. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built-into the unit-- a plus for text messaging users.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the 1100 including an alarm clock and a flashlight for those late nights on the town.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Value for Your Money.......2006-12-20

I have had the Tracfone Nokia 1100 for over 4 months now, and it is great. I get service up in the woods in Pennyslvania, with no cell phone towers around for over 100 miles. The customer service can't be beat. They transfered my old tracfones' phone number to my new one, and gave me 10 free minutes and even transferred my leftover tracfone minutes from my old phone into my new one, all in under 20 minutes on my landline phone. Tracfone is the best!

2 out of 5 stars phones not reliable.......2006-10-21

after i used the phone 2 times the next time i used it I could here my friensd but they couldn't hear me. my mom bought the year contract and 1700 minutes and i wasted almost 15 minutes trying to get it to work. we still haven't got it to work or got a new phone.

2 out of 5 stars I'm severing ties with this company.......2006-07-08

This cell phone plan was the best value for my money (the only reason I gave it two stars). I had to buy a new phone this week and while calling customer service to transfer my units and phone number they neglected to transfer over my number and gave me a new one. They sent me a new SIM card that was supposed to have my old number on it but they put a different number on it. After spending a total of three hours on the phone with them I have been told I can no longer get my old phone number back. After a lenghty conversation about them compensating me their generous offer was 100 units (=$10). I used the phone for the small business I run. I now have to reprint business cards and mail them out to clinets. My business is such that it has no fixed location so my clients have no way to get a hold of me now. I have no idea how much business I lost due to the incompetence of Net10's customer service. Multiple e-mails and phone calls have resulted in nothing but scripted our automated replies.

1 out of 5 stars Tried net 10, I like Tracfone better........2006-06-22

I've been a tracfone user for almost 3 years now. I've had a nokia 1100 for the last 2 years. Solid phone, tracfone has worked great for me. Net 10 had problems from the getgo, didn't get good customer service, bad signal. My 1100 tracfone was simple to set up and is effortless, It holds charge for about a week+ on the same battery that was in it new. If u decide to go tracfone, you may request a referral from me(before you activate the fone) which will get you 120 bonus minutes from tracfone when you activate. all you have to do is find my email address!

2 out of 5 stars Phone works, but activation was difficult and Customer Service is hard to understand........2006-01-02

Phone works, but activation was difficult and Customer Service is hard to understand.

First off, the phone works, and the cost per minute is as advertised. So a minimum of 2 stars for basic functionality, but.....

I bought this phone for a relative of mine who is not terribly tech savvy. He was unable to get the phone activated. Another relative, who has some more tech skills, but is not a tech person then helped him to activate it, but it took over 45 minutes of time on the phone with customer service. This person reports to me that while courteous, the Customer Service was very difficult to understand due to his thick Indian accent. Then later when the phone owner moved to another city, he had to call CS again to enact the transfer which is supposed to be a simple phone call -- then again it took over 45 minutes.

Until NET10 makes their service more user friendly, I would not recommend it.
