Amazon.com Product Description

If you need a simple, no-frills phone that keeps you in touch, the Motorola C155 deserves a serious look. The compact, easy-to-use design is jeans pocket friendly, while still managing to include a color display and polyphonic ringtones. It's the perfect complement to Tracfone prepaid wireless service.

Design
The C155 follows the tried and true Motorola candybar style with an internal antenna -- so there's nothing to snag or break off. The 96 x 64 color display supports 4,096 colors, and a standard hands-free headphone jack is also provided. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's control pad.

Calling Features
The C155 supports storage of phone numbers and contacts on an internal, removable SIM card. Choose from 20 built-in polyphonic ringtones, or use the vibrating alert when you want to be discreet. You can even create your own custom ringers with the included ringtone composer. The C155 ships with a number of handy Tracfone services, including free voice mail, free caller ID, and free call waiting. And perhaps most importantly, the integrated TracFone Airtime Balance Display shows you how much airtime you've used and how much is left, so you can control your costs.

Messaging and Tools
If you need basic messaging capabilities, the C155 has you covered as support is built-in for sending and receiving SMS text messages. iTap text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built-into the unit-- a plus for text messaging users.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the C155 including an alarm clock and a calculator with currency converter.

Entertainment
The C155 has plenty of fun built in, thanks to three built-in games. Now there's something to help you pass the time during your commute on the train or the bus! The phone also features customizable wallpaper graphics so you can dress it up to suit your style.

Vital Statistics
The Motorola C155 weighs 2.82 ounces and measures 4.09 x 1.93 x 0.94 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 6.67 hours of digital talk time, and up to 300 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM 850/1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Tracfone Customer Service is terrible.......2006-12-19

I've owned a Tracfone for 3 years. My old Tracfone quit working, so I purchased a new one. I've been trying for 4 weeks to transfer my old phone number to my new Tracfone. It's been a nightmare-after 4 weeks, 3 new sim cards, and countless calls to TracFone customer service reps, I've accomplished nothing. My phone is still not activated, I still don't have my old number transfered, and I've wasted 7 hours speaking to customer reps. I don't recommend TracFone.

1 out of 5 stars Nice phone IF it worked..........2006-11-17

I ordered one phone on September 11, and loved it. I ordered another one on September 14, and it wouldn't even turn on. I immediately called TracFone. Due to a language barrier (the rep spoke very little English) it took me almost an hour to explain I wanted a replacement phone and a prepaid return label for the defective phone. The first phone, although defective, had arrived without a hitch. The replacement phone was soon caught in limbo as "undeliverable as addressed" even though it was going to the same address.

After many, many calls to TracFone, our replacement phone arrived November 15. This was over TWO MONTHS after I had ordered it, over two months since I had paid for it. I activated the phone, which was supposed to come with 450 minutes. It had 250 only. So I called again, and was told the promotion that was going on when I had purchased the phone was expired and wouldn't be honored. I was also told the referral bonus of 120 minutes no longer applied. OHHHH-KAYYYY, let me speak to a supervisor. Ninety minutes later I had my 200 bonus minutes, and still need to call back again to fight over my 120 referral minutes.

Nice phone now that it works, but the customer service absolutely sucks. When my minutes run out, I will not be refilling this phone.

4 out of 5 stars Great secondary phone.......2006-10-13

I had a relative visiting from abroad and wanted to provide them with a temporary phone. Tracfone serves well under these situation. I wouldn't boast of its reception ability but will say with confidence that it performs sufficiently well as a side phone. This is a good service if you barely use your phone or desire to be contract free.

5 out of 5 stars info........2006-09-21

My tracfone has good reception. i like that it has free call waiting and free caller id. if you haven't activated your tracfone yet then the 'refer a friend program' will give each of us 120 free minutes. please send me an email and i will send you a fast referral( i check my email often). it's a win/win! thank you.
UPDATE: as of october 2006 tracfone has cancelled the refer a friend program.

5 out of 5 stars review.........2006-09-09

My tracfone has worked out good so far. Customer service is fine and the free voicemail was easy to set up and use. If you decide to get a tracfone, please email me for a quick referral before activating it- we each will get 120 free minutes from the 'refer a friend' program. I'll also send you the simple instructions to follow. I've used Tracfone for quite a while, so i should be able to answer any questions you might have.
ps even if you have activated in the last few weeks i should be able to get us the free minutes.
