I bought this watch directly from watchminder for my son, who has ADHD and needs frequent reminders. Like the previous reviewer, it took me hours to program the watch, which I had to do here and there whenever I had a spare minute between my spouse, three children, and full time job. I finally finished and set it to vibrate, the battery died. I replaced the battery, but never found the time or energy to completely reprogram it with reminders... it was at least two weeks before my son started using it. We used it for about a month in training mode to keep him on track with his morning routine. That worked well enough, but after about two weeks of use, the watch face was pretty scratched up and the little 'sections' of the numbers/text didn't always appear... The 8 would be missing a section from the side, or the 3 or E would be missing the top or bottom (or both). Of course, since it had taken me so long to program it, that by the time my son thought to tell me the digits were faulting, it was a week past the 30 warranty period. The watch also irritated my son because of it's bulk. While not heavy, it is large. If he wore it with the face on the top of his wrist, it hit playground equipment and doors. If he wore it 'backwards', he couldn't comfortably sit his hands on his desk to write with one or hold the paper still with the other, or eat without hitting the table, etc. He would accidentally hit other kids with it while playing basketball after school... and these kids are only 8-10 years old so it's not like they were playing full court ball. So he'd take it off and of course forget it. We found twice, but after he forgot it the third time it didn't matter and I told him not to worry about even looking for it...

This product is a great idea, but I expected a lot more from a watch designed for the ADHD child. I think it goes without saying that any item intended for daily wear by a demographic that tends to be overactive and/or oblivious to their surroundings and prone to bumping into things, should be able to handle rigorous use. Watchminder2 simply does not hold up to the rigors of active play.

***UPDATE*** While the manufacturer did kindly offer to replace this watch, I declined based on my son's feedback and the programming issues. The manufacturer generously mailed me a refund for the purchase price. Since then, I've found the Timex Ironman (see review for details) is almost ideal.

Not what I'd hoped for.......2005-12-04

Ridiculously difficult to set. (Took me HOURS). Then, it was so big, that it irritated the heck out of my son. He kept taking it off, and lost it within 2 weeks.
