Great LCD, too bright at first.......2006-06-06

Got this LCD last night from BestBuy for $200. I love the crisp images but it was way too bright for my taste at first. Everything is fine now after I messed around with the settings. At first I had some 1/4 inch wide lines on the right side of the screen flikering up and down the right side. The keep coming and going. Any ideas anyone as to what these are ? Maybe it is my video card but I dont konw.

Saw a Staples ad for a different monitor. While looking at it an employee directed me to this one, larger and cheaper than the one I went for! I'm thrilled with it! Only after installing it did I bother to check out the reviews, and again I'm thrilled. I stumbled on a great monitor and got a fabulous deal...only [...] after all rebates!!!!!!!

GREAT Monitor at a GREATER Price!.......2006-01-15

I bought TWO of these monitors on Black Friday for $200 each (after rebates) and what a great investment! Both monitors display images and text that are crisp and bright. I noticed one monitor was flickering or shimmering, only to discover that I had a bad graphics card. After replacing the graphics card, it worked beautifully. If you are having trouble with shimmering or what they call "incorrect PHASING", try another graphics card on another computer; this may help solve the problem.

Very nice for the price.......2005-12-21

I just picked this up to replace my 17 inch CRT. This is a very nice monitor for the price and it comes with a 3 year warranty. After rebates the total cost was around $229 so not bad at all.

Like other reviews, when I first powered up the monitor my eyes started to hurt due to the brightness. I tried to adjust several times and it helped but still was a little too bright. If you turned the brightness down to much then white web page backgrounds looked a little blue.

I took the advice of another reviewer and installed the two programs on the included cd. The one that helped the most is MagicTune. You can adjust the monitors settings from the software and it has recommended settings based on what you use the pc the most for. I picked the internet setting as that is what I was having the most problems with in regards to the brightness. After that adjustment the monitor seems much better and my eyes don't hurt anymore.

If you are looking or a nice 19 inch but don't need very fast refresh rates for gamming than this monitor is a good buy. Check around and see if you can find a good deal. If not then there might be better monitors out there for the regular offered price.
