Customer Reviews:
its alright.......2007-06-06
The space is nice, but it is slower than imaginable. I have never seen something take so long to store a 5 picture burst.. it takes almost 6 seconds for me. Not that I am a professional or anything, but if your subject is moving relatively quickly, 6 seconds is long enough for it to be gone after you snap your first few.
High Capacity, low cost, but slow.......2007-03-09
Fairly inexpensive when I purchased this for $150 last summer. If I waited until now, for the same price, I could get a CF card in non-hard drive version for the same price which I would suggest over this. The unit is very slow and the hard drive base unit takes alot more power from your machine. I use this with my Dell Axim X50v, and though it works, the battery consumption is very noticable. Also, the speed of the drive is definately not the fastest. Like I said above, for the $150 that I paid summer of 2006, it was a great deal but as all things, prices drop and if I had to do it over, I would skip this and go for flash based unit.
works well enough in Nikon D200.......2006-12-25
I wanted to be able to shoot lots over several days without dragging a laptop with me through multiple airports. I bought two and both worked fine, right out of the box. Not the fastest card ever, but certainly large storage for the price.
Lots of storage, good price, a bit slow.......2006-09-30
I bought this for my Canon Digital Rebel XT to lower the price point on additional GBs of storage. Works great for that but it's write speed is too slow for burst mode or for taking a number of shots in quick succession. Have had no problem putting it in and taking it out or with bouncing it around in the camera or camera case (not that I use the the camera or equipment as substitute basketballs). For faster shots or shooting a number of pics one right after another (like when the light is changing fast) I stick with the SD card. So - good price, lots of storage but a bit slow on write speed.
Good value for size, not for performance.......2006-06-21
I picked this up due to the size and price. While a great value for it's price, the performance was less than great.
This card is slow. Taking pictures from my Canon Rebel XT I could get maybe 5-6 shots in a row and then the camera was busy for at least a minute or so. On a regular CF card I can get about 15 shots before it gets busy and even then it stops pretty quickly. Transferring from the card to a PC or Mac also took forever.
If you have a slow camera or don't expect to take many fast action shots were you need to be able to snap quickly, than this product is a great value for it's size. Just be prepared for the slowness and do all your transfer to the PC when you have plenty of time.
