Amazon.com Product Description

With an internal antenna, dual screens, a built-in speakerphone and support for Sprint's PCS Vision services, the LG VI-125 is a great way to take advantage of the latest mobile technologies.

Design
The VI-125 follows the tried and true clamshell form factor with an internal antenna design that makes it easier to slide the phone in and out of your pocket or purse. The large 128 x 160 color screen features support for 65,000 colors, while a smaller monochrome display on the front cover displays incoming call information, battery and signal strength, the time and date, and more. The phone's center selection button allows you to control the phone's menus and features, and a 2.5 mm headphone jack provides compatibility with most handsfree headsets.

Calling Features
The VI-125's built-in address book allows you to assign up to 200 entries, each storing up to five numbers, for a total phone book capacity of up to 600 numbers, and up to 600 email and Web addresses. You can customize your caller ID by linking a downloaded image or photo to a specific phone number in your phone book. Or, choose from 21 different personalized avatars (animated characters) to assign to specific phone book contacts. Meanwhile, the phone includes 18 melodic ring tones and 12 traditional ring tones, plus a vibrating alert for those times when you want to be discreet. The handy speakerphone makes it easy to talk to callers without having the phone to your ear, while a voice dialing feature makes it possible to call your contacts by simply speaking their names.

The VI-125's GPS location technology pinpoints your exact location when you dial 911 (where available). And, perhaps most importantly for users in rural areas, the VI-125 is a tri-mode phone, meaning it can operate on Sprint's digital PCS network, as well as analog networks that serve many outlying areas.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
Because the VI-125 supports PCS Vision services, messaging features are robust. You can easily send and receive email, exchange text messages, or join a chat room. Support is built in for instant messaging clients from AOL, MSN and Yahoo!, so you're never out of touch when you can't make a call. PCS Vision mobile Web services also let you check out sports scores, get your seven-day forecast, check your flight status, and stay up to date with the latest news. Experience full-color graphic versions of popular Web sites or purchase and download premium applications, games, ringers, and screensavers to your VI-125. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built-into the unit-- a plus for mobile web and messaging users.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the VI-125, including an alarm clock, a calendar with a scheduler, a calculator (with a tip calculator), and a world clock. You'll also get a voice recorder with up to three minutes of recording time.

Entertainment and Graphics
As mentioned, the VI-125 supports game downloads so you can pass the time while you're on the bus or the train. Meanwhile, you can customize the look of your phone with a selection of themes and skins for the phone's interface.

Vital Statistics
The LG VI-125 weighs 3.35 ounces and measures 3.53 x 1.76 x .93 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 3.5 hours of digital talk time, and up to 150 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the AMPS 850/CDMA 850/CDMA 1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

What's in the Box
VI-125 handset, AC battery charger, lithium-ion battery, user's manual.

4 out of 5 stars Good deal........2006-07-21

My office got this for free for me; my personal cell is a Motorola SLVR (cingular).
I just use the basic functions, and it works well.
The sprint and LG logos all over are annoying; I covered them up; I'm not a billboard. Most phones these days are ad-plastered like race cars, including my SLVR - on the phone, in the menus, images, sounds, startup screens...
I happened upon another one in a parking lot that had been run over and destroyed; I salvaged the battery, as Sprint had no interest in helping returning it to its owner (S/N 504KSZQ0225885, ESN 023EFEDA9).

2 out of 5 stars weak signal.......2006-04-18

The phone really has a week signal, when you press the side button to silent the ringer you don't see the incomming number which is really worst.

5 out of 5 stars Great phone for the price.......2006-02-09

I was surprised how much I liked this phone. My old cell had only 9 speed dials this one has so many I don't even know. Very clear speaker Overall a great phone.

3 out of 5 stars Not the best phone if you live in "rough" areas.......2005-12-08

I've had this phone for 6 days and I am not impressed with the reception. If I lived "in town", it would be a great phone. But I live and work in areas where cell phone signals are weak. With the same service (Sprint) a friends Samsung phone had 3 bars while I had none standing right beside him. When he had 4 bars, I had one with my LG phone. The Sprint kiosk rep told me that LG is not the best phone for my area because of poor signal reception. Otherwise, this seems to be a nice phone... just not for me and my situation.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent basic phone.......2005-12-06

I have had this phone for about a week, no complaints at all, its a good phone with super clear reception, loud earpiece volume. I was worried that the phone will get poor reception due to the internal antenna, but that's not the case, full bars in my apartment! I only have one silly complaint, the keybad is super bright blue, it can be a pain if u wake up and look at the screen, I have never seen such a bright keypad, but you can always have it shut off. I highly recommend this phone!
