Toshiba's Tecra 8000 is a very good professional notebook. It brings you the latest mobile processing power, and is highly configurable for use at the office or on the road: the Swiss army knife of notebooks. Tecra 8000 uses screaming fast mobile Pentium II processors The Pentium II's advanced microarchitecture runs business and multimedia software alike with incredible speed and fluidity. 512KB of L2 cache memory helps the processor maintain peak efficiency. A huge active matrix color display provides plenty of viewing space for you to see your work, and present it to others. The Tecra's graphics controller has 2.5MB of video memory, which allows it to produce rich color depth. The notebook is provided with enough RAM to run most demanding applications. The memory may be upgraded to as much as 256MB for graphics-heavy multimedia applications. The notebook's large hard drive should provide you with plenty of storage space for programs and files, and for extra storage, an additional hard drive may be used in the Tecra's SelectBay. One of the best features of the Tecra 8000 is its versatility. The notebook's SelectBay accommodates the standard floppy drive and CD-ROM drive, as well as several optional devices: a 2X DVD drive, an auxiliary battery, and a second hard drive. Take along only the parts that you'll need for a particular task. Support for DMI 2.0 and WFM 1.1 give the notebook advanced personal and network manageability. The 6010 is designed with first-time cell phone users in mind. The buttons are large and the case, which is compatible with Nokia "X-Press On" front and rear faceplates, is ergonomically shaped. A large 96 x 65 color display features large fonts for easier reading and navigation of the phone's menus. A large power button dominates the top of the phone, while a 2.5mm headphone jack and charging input are placed on the bottom edge. The 6010 uses an internal antenna-- nothing to snag or break off.
<B>Calling Features</B>
The 6010's built-in address book can store up to 500 contacts for quick and easy management of phone numbers and addresses. In addition to a vibrate alert, the phone comes with built-in polyphonic ringtones. Different ringtones can be set for individual callers so you know who's calling without having to look at the device. One-touch dialing and voice-activated dialing are also supported. A call log keeps track of your 20 most recent dialed calls and 10 of your most recent missed or received calls.
<B>Messaging, Internet and Tools</B>
The 6010 has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging and Internet connectivity. Use the phone's built-in picture messaging capability to send text, graphics and pictures to your friends. The phone features support for instant messaging applications (carrier messaging charges apply), and there's also a built-in web browser for downloads and mobile web browsing. Traditional text messaging and picture messaging is also supported by the phone. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the 6010 including a calculator, a calendar with up to 500 entries, a to-do list with up to 30 entries, and an alarm clock with snooze.
<B>Imaging and Entertainment</B>
Use wallpaper templates or customize your own wallpapers to give your phone a look that suits your tastes. Eight color schemes are built-in to help you dress up the phone's menus. The 6010 is Java enabled, meaning it supports games written on the Java platform. The phone ships with some great games, Air Glide, Sky Diver, Backgammon, and Bowling.

The Nokia 6010 weighs 3.76 ounces and measures 4.68 x 1.97 x 0.90 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 5.5 hours of digital talk time, and up to 10 days of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/1900 GSM/GPRS frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.
