The clever flash, which has an 18-foot range (5.5 meters) with 200 speed film, flips up to put extra distance between flash and lens to help eliminate red-eye problems. This innovative design also prevents the photographer from inadvertently covering the flash with a finger. The flash then flips down to turn off the camera and protect the lens, acting as the lens cover.
