The Lexmark Forms Printer 4227 Plus is tough and dependable. A unique 18-pin print head alternates between two 9-pin sets, so the life of your print head is longer. You know what they say--two heads are better than one!
There is no need to fuss with adjustments for varying paper thickness when operating the 4227; it does the work for you, automatically. Paper handling is automatic as well, through a single-sheet manual feed slot on a front tractor feeder. However, an optional Tractor 2 feeder will allow you to load separate documents at the same time.
The memory receive buffer is a standard 60 KB, but expandable memory options are also available. Resolution, in black, is 240 x 144 dpi. Printing speed is 720 characters per second at 10 characters per inch, and the maximum duty cycle is 90 million pages per month.
The 4227 is compatible with PCs only. It is 10.8 inches high, 24.3 inches wide, and 11.2 inches deep, and weighs 36.3 pounds. The Lexmark Forms Printer 4227 comes with a one-year warranty and is Energy Star, CSA, FCC, and UL compliant. --Linda Anderson
Product Description:
Lexmark Forms Printer 4227plus Printer Despite its ruggedness, the 4227 plus is actually built for speed, printing at speeds up to 720 cps (150 cps in Near Letter Quality) on continuous form or cut sheet, 8 part multipart forms and labels or envelopes. The unique 400 million-character printhead life lowers maintenance costs while the 18 pin design extends print head life. Virtually straight paper path eliminates jamming while the new autogap printhead automatically adjusts to form or paper thickness and any size between 3" and 22". Throw in the 10,000 hour mean time between failure rating (at 50% duty) and 60KB buffer memory and you have every reason to hit the print key and go without a second thought. Tractor 2 feed option lets you load two forms simultaneously and switch between them and one touch of a button. Supports Euro symbol code. Connects to major network systems using Lexmark's MarkNet(tm) X2000 External Print Servers. Supports DOS, Windows, OS/2, UNIX. Ships with 60KB memory, upgradable for networking. And getting back to ruggedness, the supplies are as tough as the printer.
