Whether using up to five-part forms, checks, continuous feed paper or labels, this impact printer runs at up to 400 characters per second at high-speed draft. And with a 200 million-stroke printhead, 8 million character ribbon and 10, 000-hour mean time before failure, the LQ-2080 is built to last. Get the work done quickly but with quality using three print speeds. High-speed draft prints at 400 cps, draft at 300 cps and letter quality printing at 100 cps, with a bi-directional print direction. For printable columns, the LQ-2080 prints from 10 to 15 cpi, with 136 to 272 characters per line and character pitch values from 10 to 20. The LQ-2080 accepts many types of media including multi-part forms, continuous run paper, cut sheet paper, checks, envelopes labels and card stock. Depending on what type of media is being used, the printer handles paper from the top, bottom, front and rear using friction, pull and push tractor feeding. The built-in zero tear-off feature cuts down wasted paper and saves expensive pre-numbered and standard forms. Epson includes a variety of character sets, bitmap and scalable fonts, and bar code fonts including PostNet, in sizes from 10 to 15 cpi and from 8 to 32 points. The LQ-2080 is IBM ProPrinter compatible and supports ESC/P2 and IBM 2391+ printer languages, and comes with printer drivers for Windows 3.1x, 95 and Windows NT 3.51/4.0. It uses a bi-directional parallel interface and accommodates a variety of optional network and Type B interfaces for use in a multi-platform environment.
