The S820D uses a six-color printing process with individual ink tanks (256 x 6 nozzles) to reduce waste. The inks are formulated to provide lightfast photos lasting up to 25 years. Print crisp black and color prints at 2,400 x 1,200 dpi on a wide variety of media, including letter size, legal size, A4, and A5. Canon claims you can print an 8-by-10-inch photo on plain paper in under two minutes and a 4-by-6-inch photo in about one minute.
The printer has a USB interface and is compatible with your Mac or PC. It is packaged with a Canon PCMCIA adapter for CompactFlash cards and a direct interface cable for Canon PowerShot S30 and S40 cameras.
