The Canon i9100 photo printer uses an ultra-high-density, multi-nozzle print head featuring 3,072 nozzles (the largest number of nozzles in its class). The result is fast printing speeds of approximately 37 seconds for a borderless 4-by-6-inch photo print, approximately one minute for 8-by-10-inch prints, and approximately four minutes for 13-by-19-inch prints. The printer supports edge-to-edge borderless printing for both 5-by-7-inch and 13-by-19-inch photos in addition to 4-by-6-inch and 8.5-by-11-inch shots.
Quality from the i9100 is achieved through advanced Microfine Droplet Technology with 4,800 x 1,200 dpi and six-color photo printing using Canon's Individual Ink Tank system. The i9100 features an intelligent ink-management system coupled with six individual ink tanks designed to help eliminate ink waste and reduce printing costs. Replace only the color that runs out rather than the entire cartridge. A low-ink sensor alerts you when ink levels are low so you can drop in a new tank and avoid running out of ink unexpectedly in the middle of printing your super-sized 13-by-19-inch prints.
Included Easy-PhotoPrint software analyzes the recorded data and automatically adjusts printer driver settings for optimum image processing. To simplify Web-page printing, Canon also includes Easy-WebPrint software (Windows only), so pages print just as they're seen onscreen.
