Driven by a powerful PPC 266 MHz processor, the ML-2550 expands from 32 MB (standard) to 160 MB RAM (optional). It comes with PCL6, PS3, IBM ProPrinter and EPSON emulation plus a full menu of built-in fonts (45 scalable, 1 bitmap, 136 PS3 fonts). It offers compatibility with most Windows, Mac, Linux, and Sun Microsystems operating systems (and more), standard parallel and USB 2.0 interfaces, plus options for networking and wireless connectivity.
Standard paper handling includes a single built-in 500-sheet primary tray and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray that also manages duplexing. The printer supports an additional optional 500-sheet tray. The ML-2550 handles media of nearly any size (up to 8.5 x 11.4 inches), including envelopes, labels, transparencies, postcards and more.
