what i liked about this book:

- very [thorough] in covering the subject of public speaking.
- sensitive to speaking in the context of a multi-cultural audience.
- visual organization of material is exceptional.


what i did NOT like about this book:

- much of the material within each chapter is needlessly regurgitated (succinctness is definitely not a strength of this book).
- the excessive overuse of famous quotations interspersed within the material becomes quite distracting and downright annoying.
- nearly 500 pages for a subject that i've seen handled much more elegantly in less than half that page count.

compared to other college texts about public speaking i've come across, this is below average. i noticed that the editorial review notes: "The text is noted for its clear and concise writing style..." clear, yes. concise? not by a long shot.

The book arrived in plenty of time for my class. It is in mint condition and the right edition. I saved greatly over what I would have spent from the bookstore.

I needed this book for my college course, unfortunately this is the wrong edition.

The item description should really include what edition the book is.

I noticed some sellers took it upon themselves to mention the edition in the "seller comments" field. Most seller do not think to do this and so this is why I suggest YOU, the buyer, to "be careful when there is no picture!"
