The band is made up of some of the finest players in Los angeles. That means--some of the finest players in the world.
In addition to being in my band the members are also all free lance players and can be heard in many kinds of bands.
Just tonight I heard a classical concert and Suzette Moriarty, my french horn player, was the first horn in a symphony doing a very ambitious program including Brahms.
My jazz trumpet player is often seen and heard doing concerts with Ray Charles.
I, Jim Morris, am a classically trained trombonist with performances and recordings with The Philadelphia Orchestra and a tour with Mantovanni. My own Brass Quintet , The Contemporary Brass Quintet, recorded ten albums of music. Simultaneously I was the contractor and bass trombonist with the Les and Larry Elgart Band led by Larry and in a large rock and roll band, Dansers Inferno and doing Broadway Shows, Night Clubs and whatever else came along. To this day I still play in Saturday Night Bath, a rock and roll band specializing in doing school concerts. So in a given month I could be working or rehearsing with my ten piece jazz band, heard here. I could be doing concerts with Saturday Night Bath and probably doing some small combo work with my four or five piece jazz combo in which I play tenor trombone and sing, or possibly some Dixieland or a classical concert and whatever else comes along. That's the life of a free lance professional musician. It keeps you on your toes and I can't think of anything I'd rather do.
