1 out of 5 stars Offensive Content and Language.......2007-06-05

I love swing revival music, but my exposure to various groups has been limited. I bought this as a "buy it together" with another CD, listened to four songs, and turned it off. I won't listen to it again. The themes of the songs are sex-charged and the language vulgar. I guess I should have known by the title, "Cherry Poppin' Daddies," but I was thinking more along the lines "poppin' = jivin'" rather than it having a sexual connotation. Shows how out of the loop I am, I guess. Some people would probably love this CD, but as a Christian, I'm offended by the themes and the language. There was a low-class knock on God, too, and that was the end of the CD for me.

5 out of 5 stars Zoot Suit Riot.......2007-05-21

I postively love this cd. It so entertaining to listen to and if you are into swing dancing this is the music for you. The quality is like having Cherry Poppin Daddies right there with you performing it, it's that good. Zoot Suit Riot is a very up beat and fun cd for everyone to enjoy .

5 out of 5 stars Brought Swing to the 90s.......2007-03-12

The song Zoot Suit Riot brought Swing back to mainstream in the mid-90s, with it's ubiquitous radio airtime, that in turn spawned swing clubs across the country. That said, this album has a lot more to be said for it. Ding-Dong Daddy of the D-Car Line, Here Comes the Snake, Drunk Daddy, Brown Derby Jump and Shake your Moneymaker are all now mainstream Swing songs. Indeed, looking at this album, it has so many great songs it reads like a Greatest Hits album. Essential for any swing CD collection for both it's impact to the genre, as well as the quality of the music.

5 out of 5 stars zoot suit riot.......2006-11-03

I was introduced to this band by a friend, and have loved them eversince. This is the first album i heard of theirs and i must admit that it's one of my favorites.

4 out of 5 stars lacking a little.......2006-08-12

Overall, this is a good album and has a number of cool songs on it, which is why I rated it 4/5. "Drunk Daddy" is one of my favorites. =D

But, it was lacking a little. "Mister White Keys", "When I Change Your Mind", and "Come Back to Me" were't the greatest tracks I've heard. I didn't care for them.

It could have also been a little longer. I would have liked to have seen "Irish Whiskey", "Suicide Kings", and "We'll Always Have Paris" on there. =)

To me, it just doesn't qualify as a Greatest Hits album for this. It's good, but not for a Greatest Hits album.

4 out of 5 stars Fun Ska CD.......2006-10-30

This is a very fun ska CD. The band is tight, the lyrics are cheeky, and the experience of listing to these guys will put a big smile on your face. Would highly recommned this CD to any ska fan looking for an addition to their collection. Also would recommend Save Ferris and anything by Bop Harvey.

5 out of 5 stars looking for an album to cheer you up?.......2006-09-08

this is by far the best cd reel big fish has made. there is not a song that i don't like on here. reel big fish can always cheer me up with their uptempo popska. this album ranges from the funny "she has a girlfriend now", to a little aggressive "skatanic", to just plain catchy "sellout" and "trendy." the only people who i know that don't enjoy this album, don't like this kind of music.

5 out of 5 stars buy this now!.......2006-08-31

If you're a fan of ska, you should definitely buy this album. hey, even if you don't like ska you should still buy this because it is just that good. This is probably the greatest reel big fish album ever (although they have never made a bad one).

5 out of 5 stars best ska cd ever.......2006-07-27

In my opinion, this is the best ska cd ever. I was first introduced to Reel Big Fish, like many of us, with the radio success of "sell out" around 1997. Over the years, i forgot about Reel Big Fish as my music choices went down the drain. However, about a year and a half ago, i saw this cd in the record store and picked it up.

My life was completely changed. This cd made me an instant ska fan, and I have continued to grow into a bigger ska fan since that time. "Turn the Radio Off" is filled with catchy rhythms, humorous lyrics, and fantastic horn lines. Even today, after the thousands upon thousands of times that I've listened to this cd, there is not a single song I can skip.

Whenever anyone asks me about ska, or "what's a good ska band", the first thing I tell them is to pick up this cd. This cd has made me the ska fan that I am today. This album is an essential to any collection, whether you like ska or not. Virtually every true music fan that I know loves this album, ranging from other ska fans to punk kids to alternative kids and even to emo fans. Go out and get this cd today, either here on amazon or at any record store. You won't regret it.

Album Description

The 1st Ska Supergroup!!: Justin Evil (Jeffries Fan Club, Longfellow) on the drums, Chris Evil (JFC, the Specials) on trombone, Derek Evil (JFC) bass, Jay Evil (The Scholars) on trumpet, Jonny Evil (Lone Raspberry) on the trombone and Aaron (Reel Big Fish) singing and playing guitar. The Forces of Evil were created to breathe new life into the Orange County ska scene. In January of 2001 when Jeffries Fan Club played their last show, many wondered what would happen to the Orange County ska scene. This is where Reel Big Fish vocalist Aaron Evil's plan came to fruition. "I like the old ska scene. I miss it and I want to bring it back," said Aaron. So armed with an idea, Aaron approached the Jeffries Fan Club drummer, bassist and trombone players at the show and asked if they wanted to play ska with him. The three said yes and the Forces of Evil were born. Once the Forces of Evil family was complete, they embarked on a mission to bring the same light, bouncy, horn-infused ska music that they had been playing for years to a new generation.

Before the release of a five-song EP in June of 2002, the band played numerous live shows and captivated audiences with songs like "Vague Love Song" and "My Life" as well as covers like Van Halen's "Dance the Night Away" and "Go to Hell" by Suburban Rhythm. These tasty gems are just a few of the offerings on their full-length release, Friend Or Foe.

With the full-length album, Friend Or Foe, due October 21, prepare for the Forces of Evil to invade a town near you.

5 out of 5 stars Great supergroup CD.......2007-03-20

This is one of the few "super group" ska bands out there, and it really behooves anyone out there who is a fan of ska to pick this disc up. It's one CD you can listen to straight through over and over again.
I have to say that, in general, this sounds like a "lost" Reel Big Fish album, i don't know if it's the production quality (which sounds a lot like a RBF album) or what. The other comparison that popped into my head was "Toasters meets RBF" (which doesn't really make sense since Toasters had nothing to do with this).

Sorry for the rambling review. This CD is excellent, ska fan or not, if you like well written songs that make you feel good even when things are against you, this is the CD to get.

5 out of 5 stars pick it up!.......2006-08-31

Wow! Awesome cd full of fun, catchy music that never slows down from start to finish. This is third-wave ska at its finest. If you are a ska fan, you probably already own this album. If not, get to a record store, or order this online. You won't regret it, I promise.

5 out of 5 stars Must Have Ska CD.......2005-06-25

This is THE must have ska cd. If you like ska, you must own this cd. Period. End of story. This cd is the best thing to happen to ska in a long while. Don't let it's lack of promotion fool you. It is very well done and worth every penny.

5 out of 5 stars Frigin' awsome BiEtCh!!!.......2005-06-16

5 out of 5 stars One of the best albums of the 90's.......2006-10-08

Dammmnnnn this album brings me back to a better time. Goldfinger's self titled album is truly a lost treasure. Along with Rancid and Green Day, Goldfinger were one of the few "punk/ska" bands to be able to cross over to MTV. Somehow though, Goldfinger wasn't able to hold onto that mainstream appeal. Maybe it's because after "Hang Up's" their sound changed so drastically. However in 1996 this album helped shape my life. From beginning to end this album is a relentless attack of pop punk and ska. Mind's Eye, Answers, Only a Day, Miles Away, Mabel, Here In My Bedroom are great songs, and in fact this entire album rocks. Although Goldfinger goes forgotten when discussing influential bands of the genre, this album in particular should be noted for what it was: Fun, fast, creative and catchy as hell.

Apparently Goldfinger is promising that their next album will be a return to the "old style" of G.Finger. We'll see (fingers crossed).

4 out of 5 stars POP PUNKERS DELIGHT!!!!!!.......2006-02-02

I had no problem liking this CD back in the day. Ten years ago, we were introduced to a plague known as Pop Punk, that still threatens cool Junior High and High School kids everywhere, with gay (...)type music, that tricks kids into thinking they are above the realm of boy band fans, but really they are just being laughed at by the rest of us.
I was a wee young lad when this phony poser punk shlock came about. If you ask me, I blame Green Day's Dookie for starting it all, still many don't believe me, and hence.. the beast still lives.
However, within this realm of "Poser Punk", some bands still made it possible to rock out, while at the same time appeal to teenie boppers, and a mass radio appeal. GOLDFINGER, although, since their debut, have acheived little to no success, were one of those bands, that although may have been branded with the pop, or poser punk iron... still were pretty good. Some songs, I may even go as far to say, were pretty kick ass.
For instance ANSWERS is a pretty bitchin' song. I still put that one onto party mixes all the time! The song about L.A (I can't remember off the top of my head, AMAZON doesn't list a track list for this album)but was pretty rad too!
And the radio songs were far less gay than radio punk was about to become in the following few years. Kids, you may even find this disc to be somewhat hardcore. HERE IN YOUR BEDROOM, for instance... chicks LOVED that song. Pretty good riff. These songs were catchy, witty, punky, and they had some balls. Yeah, they did have some balls. Suck on that Billie Joe!

5 out of 5 stars So great its depressing (that there is no more like it).......2005-12-05

Goldfinger is the band that got my musical tastes to where they are today. I originally fell in love with Hang-Ups and never really heard songs from this album till a few months ago, though I have heard pretty much all songs from others. I decided to download this album (later bought it) and it is my all time favorite album beating even Hang-ups. I depresses me (literally) that I can't find another band/album to match it. I hate how their music is changing. It's great they are singing about what they believe in but the music itself has gone downhill. I mean I still love them and always will but they should really try to release at least one song per album that brings back their original sound. And yes I do play this album at least once a week and I officially call it "my Happy Album" since hearing it esp while driving ALWAYS cheers me up tremendiously.

4 out of 5 stars The best 90's punk.......2005-09-28

If you are looking for what gave pop/punk its roots this is the cd for you. It is great. Give a couple listens and you will be hooked. Happy listening!

1 out of 5 stars Just say NO to this album.......2007-04-18

This album is utter trash. It is poorly mixed and is simply a rehash of all RBF's old songs. If you're really an RBF fan, you'll either have all their previously released albums already or you'll buy "Our Live Album is Better Than Your Live Album" which was released by the band after ditching their Jive label. This record is a last ditch effort on part of Jive to make one last bit of profit off one of the world's greatest ska bands. Don't feed the suits! Feed Reel Big Fish and buy "Our Live Album is Better Than Your Live Album" instead.

1 out of 5 stars Reel Big Fish Rocks.......2006-12-25

Reel Big Fish rocks, but "Our Live Album IS Better Than Your Live Album" is the best greatest hits you WILL ever get because live RBF is more talkitive, more funny in that way, and it makes their live stuff better, just the raw sound of ska music as well, it's called life, love it.

1 out of 5 stars Jive does horrible job with this one! Not band's fault..........2006-12-23

Unfortunately Jive Records managed to show everyone the true stupidity that is behind every major label. Was it greed? Yes.

This album's quality is not anything to be obsessed over when compared to "Our Live Album is Better Than Your Live Album" which the band released themselves. If you like Reel Big Fish then let their own album released on their own impress you, not something that Jive Records has beaten to death out of corporate greed.

Chapel Hill's second most famous rock band, Southern Culture on the Skids has finally transcended their kitschy novelty act trappings on their seventh album, The Mojo Box,and created an album worthy of their considerable talents. Without sacrificing any of their overwrought manic energy, or cunning twists on white trash culture, Rick Miller, Mary Huff, and Dave Hartman have created a swampy masterpiece, that is equal parts Grateful Dead, the Cramps, and Credence Clearwater Revival, bathed in barbecue sauce, irony, and some gloriously garagey guitar lines that conjure up images of a young Keith Richards. Produced by Miller at his rural North Carolina home studio, Mojo Box is the sound of a band proud of their Southern roots, but no longer exploiting them as if they were a fourth member in the band. Instead, Southern Culture on the Skids uses a newfound restraint that elevates a country ballad like "Where Is the Moon," to a near classic that even Emmylou Harris would long to sing, and makes the creeping dread of the title track something you wouldn't want to listen to with the lights off. --Jaan Uhelszki

5 out of 5 stars SCOTS still cookin.......2004-08-11

SCOTS are 1 of the few bands I know of that have been together 15 plus years and can still put out an album as powerfull as their 1st. For me this is their best offering since To Much Pork. So many bands change the formula and end up like Metallica. Not SCOTS. They are still kickin it.
Its been to long since have seen this band live. And I always thought they were best as a 3 piece unit. If you are or ever have been a fan of this band, dont let this one pass you buy.

4 out of 5 stars More of the Same -- High Praise for this Band!.......2004-05-11

SCOTS may not be the most innovative or experimental band around, but they are among the most entertaining. "Mojo Box," the band's most recent effort following their five-star "Liquored Up and Lacquered Down" album, serves another big heap of guitar riffs and clever lyrics that is perfect for your next big shin-dig.

A bit raunchier, a touch more rockin' than "LU&LD," "Mojo Box" brings the goods hard and fast. With six tunes clocking in at under 3 minutes and only one over four minutes, "Mojo Box" tosses you from tune to tune, most of which come with SCOTS' usual mix of wit and double entendre. "Doublewide" is probably my current favorite track, but pretty much every tune is enough to get my fingers banging on the steering wheel and my thoughts turning to bootleg liquor and some Carolina BBQ.

A great addition to any southern rock CD collection!

5 out of 5 stars I HEART THIS CD!.......2004-03-25

My dad introduced me to Scots a couple of days after this came out. O, my god! I love it! The songs are kooky and fun. They are amazing. There isn't too much of anything. This is the ultimate feel-good CD. The packaging is adorable, the little stickers are cute. The band hasn't come out with anything for a while, and this is a great comeback. "Doublewide" and "I Want A Love" are my two personal favorites. This is just a colorful band, with some seriously good music.

5 out of 5 stars It doesn't get any more fun than this.......2004-03-15

Where to begin? Crunchy guitars, pulsating bass, sly lyrics ("If you're gonna eat fish, you gotta taste a little bottom") and more hooks than you'll find in a tackle box. "I Want A Love" is my favorite, with its terrific finish, but the bridge in "Mojo Box" is brilliant, and "The Wet Spot" makes Dick Dale sound like he's playing in an anechoic chamber.

SCOTS is difficult to categorize, and difficult to take out of your player.

4 out of 5 stars One of their most accessible albums... fun stuff!.......2004-03-12

A fine, fun album full of bouncy, hook-heavy retro-rock -- surfabilly, Southern soul, and a smattering of tongue-in-cheek country. The lead track, "Smiley Yeah Yeah Yeah," lets you know where their heads are at on this one: it's a melody-heavy party record that doesn't take itself too seriously, and just lets the good times roll. The de-emphasis on white trash stereotypes and renewed attention to musicianship is most welcome, as far as I'm concerned. Recommended!

This album is filled with the genius of Reel Big Fish's wacky lyrics that they are so well known for, along with their original and fun sound the band carries. If you're looking for the usual stuff that is being played on the radio these days, you won't find it in Why Do They Rock So Hard? The whole production is something impressive that you'll be listening to for years to come.

This is possibly the best album that Reel Big Fish has released, in my personal opinion. If you're trying to find out if this band fits your musical tastes, then this album is definitely the ice breaker. There aren't a lot of bands out there that have the unique ability to keep the audience's attention throughout a whole CD, making every song another great track that everyone can agree on. The band works very hard and keeps the fans in mind, which is one of the main components to their success.

Overall, if you're looking for something different that really stands out, buy a copy of Why Do They Rock So Hard? You definitely won't be disappointed with your decision.

5 out of 5 stars Awe-inspiring.......2006-02-03

Wow, what more can I say than Wow.

Why do they Rock so Hard is the followup to the commercially explosive Turn the Radio Off and it does not disappoint. Well, that's a lie. It seems to disappoint a few traditional ska fans who never really liked RBF to begin with. Others dislike it because it has a little bit less Ska than its predecessor (but not much). As far as Ska records are concerned, it is indeed inferior to Reel Big Fish's major label debut. However, as an overall music album it offers a much tighter balance of style and a much more impressive display of musicianship. Frontman Aaron Barrett has perfected his glam-rock style guitar work into a powerful and somewhat complex pop-punk arrangement. Bassist Matt Wong steps the funk up to the next level and Scott Klopfenstein shows off why him and Aaron are one of the best vocal duos on the Ska scene. The horn section doesn't falter either. Retaining the legendary lineup from Turn the Radio Off (which would leave before finishing Cheer Up!), Dan Regan leads Tavis and Grant through tight horn lines and beautifully crafted solos, especially on the remake of the demo In the Pit (now called Thank You for Not Moshing). This album is the second in what the band considers its trilogy and gives the message "Now that we're popular, how come everyone hates us?" Lyrically, that seems to be the overall theme, such as in Down in Flames or the album highlight Somebody Hates Me.

The band remakes several cuts from their self-released debut Everything Sucks, inlcuding a slowed-down I'm Cool, a beefed up I Want Your Girlfriend to be my Girlfriend and a glossied version of the faux-ballad Big Star. Other highlights of the album include The Set-Up, Brand New Song and the fidgety Kid's Don't Like It. Plus the band tosses in a wonderful collaberation with New York ska icon Coolie Ranx as Song #3.

Downsides? Sure there are some. There is a pointlessly long and boring jam after the last track which drags the album on a bit longer than it should and that in itself may warrant a star off if you get annoyed by that. There are what some have dubbed "filler" on the album (16 tracks usually means filler-ahead) such as Scott's a Dork, She's Famous or You Don't Know. Although others would say (including myself) that these cuts are equally amazing.

Recommended for fans of glam-rock, the 80's, punk/ska, pop-punk or just really happy music. Not at all recommended for those who hate the third wave, the Reel Big Fish, Ska or any combination of the three. Not the album to start your RBF collection with, though; Turn the Radio Off is a much better intro to the catalogue.

5 BIG BIG stars!!

5 out of 5 stars The Best CD From The Best Band Ever!.......2005-08-15

I was a hard rocker only listening to the heaviest stuff. Then, I heard this CD, now like all i listen to is ska. This is the best CD ever made!

Somebody Hates Me 10/10: An awesome opener, this song got my attention right away.
Brand New Song 10/10: A great happy ska song with pretty good lyrics.
She's Famous Now 9/10: Another great ska song but the lyrics aren't the best.
You Don't Know 10/10: An awesome song, not up-beat tho. I've wanted to say some of this stuff to some people.
The Set Up (You Need This) 10/10: Another sweet ska song. Great harmonizing, great horns, great everything.
Thank You For Not Moshing 9/10: Pretty good, I'm not to big on the Jamaican guy singing and stuff in the verse.
I'm Cool 10/10: Sweet and a great change. This is the best out of the 3 versions of I'm Cool.
I Want Your Girlfriend To Be My Girlfriend Too 10/10: My favorite on the CD, great guitar, great horns, great lyrics, great everything. I've wanted to say this to some people.
Everything Is Cool 10/10: This is a very weird song. It's kinda ska-metal, but its a change and a great song.
Song #3 7/10: My least favorite on this CD, I don't really like the Jamaican guy singing.
Scott's A Dork 10/10: Pretty much just a sweet song.
Big Star 7/10: Too slow and it seems sorta self-centered kinda with the lyrics.
The Kids Don't Like It 10/10: This is a sweet song with a very good sound.
Down In Flames 10/10: My second favorite on the CD. It has great horns and guitar and lyrics, they all go together perfect.
We Care 9/10: Great song and I like how they thank you for listening, but it didn't catch my attention that much.
Victory Over Peter Bones 10/10: So relaxing.

This is one of the best CDs I've ever bought, and now you gotta go BUY IT!

5 out of 5 stars Better Than Before... No Really It Is.......2005-07-29

In My Opinion this cd is better than "Turn The Radio Off"
but only slightly, their both pretty equal but both different
Some of the songs here are slower
and 1 or 2 even border on reggae (sp?)
I think there is 1 filler song and thats it
My favorite songs are Brand New Song, and Song #3
OH and some of these lyrics are uber Funnay

4 out of 5 stars Raucous, sometimes raw, and mostly enjoyable.......2005-10-07

"The Real Sock Ray Blue" captures Mojo Nixon at his rabid, foaming at the mouth, disgusted at the fake and phony, best. Never one to hide his light under a bushel, Mr. Nixon buzzes through such timely themes as cybersex, faked coolness, bad relationships, paranoia, and gonzo living. His takes on cultural touchstones such as the rock n' roll hall of fame---which he accurately depicts as the Rock & Roll Hall of Lame---Disney and McDonalds, and on Orenthal James might cause polite company to wince. Well, pretty much everything here would. . .

The ride is raucous, sometimes raw, and mostly enjoyable. His back up group, the cleverly named Toadliquors, prove a dependable lot, churning out a stable background and chugging along as Mr. Nixon runs roughshod in his rockabilly from Hell mode.

I suspect listening too much would cause a bit of headache, but if you treat this recording as something to respect---like a bottle of mescal with the worm hovering near the bottom---you will enjoy it for quite some time.

5 out of 5 stars Mojo's Still Got It !.......2004-12-12

Woah, I picked this up not expecting too much, and was just amazed ! Mojo just gets better with age. His trademark rockabilly sound with funny, inflamatory, and very clever lyrics is much smoother and refined than back in the "Burn Down The Malls" days. And thankfully, just as, if not more, irreverent.

Some people classify this as Comedy. Not that it isn't funny, but Mojo is so much more. He's COOL AND smart AND hillbilly/redneck AND Rockin' AND a voice yellin' out for justice.

"Drunk, Divorced Floozy", "You Can't But Cool", "Tankman Blues", "Orenthall James[Was A Mighty Bad Man]", all just awsome songs.

But there's more. The last song is so un-Mojo, so personal and *intimate* and introspective. Wow. This is the Mojo deep-down that we've never really seen. And I like it.

5 out of 5 stars Mojo Nation.......2003-07-29

I bought this after hearing it on a listening station at Tower Records three years ago -- like receiving a revalation from a burning bush. I still listen to it as frequently as anything in my CD collection. Why? Because nobody does politically charged [tail]-rockin' hillbilly music like Mojo. Like all shamans, he's a madman......frothing at the mouth, winking at the audience, leering at the girls, laughing with the gods, screaming at hypocrites and power-trippers. Rasputin with an electrical guitar. His stuff would jump off the radio if anyone would dare play it, but they never will. Too dangerous.

4 out of 5 stars Wahoo!.......2001-10-16

This CD is good stuff! The music is strong (Elvis woulda been mighty proud). The politics are biting. Just what one expects from the Toadliquors. The cover of the Muddy Waters classic "Got my Mojo Working") is just plain exciting. And someone had to tell the truth about Princess Diana -- Mojo Nixon presents it quite well in his lyrics and singing for "Drunk Divorced Floozie." The CD closes with a surprising acoustic ballad -- "When Did I Become My Dad?" that isn't exactly gut-wrenching stuff, but is about as reflective as I ever expect to hear from a veteran punker.

4 out of 5 stars We Still Need to Listen to Mojo.......2000-05-13

First, let me say I rarely give a perfect score in anything. After a good dozen or so listenings, I have to say that Mojo is still Mojo after all these years. That is saying a lot. At first,I was worried that after a good seventeen-eighteen years of playing his music Mojo-Style, he wouldn't be able to keep up to the high standard he set w/ Bo-Day-Shus or Root Hog or Die. It is great to see he's not being Mojo Nixon-1989, or trying to re-create it. Compare his eighties "Debbie Gibson is Pregnant w/ my Two-Headed Love Child" or "Stuffin' Martha's Muffin" w/ "Drunk Divorced Floozy" or "Orenthal James was Might Bad Man" from this disc. He can make accurate social commentary and the topics/content/lyrics aren't stale, & neither is the music. I could go on & on in more detail, but this is a must disc for all Mojo fans, and a definite for all who have still not been exposed to this God-send. We all need to pay more attention to the Mojo-perspective in the world. It has helped me survive.

This Southern California band certainly has reason to be in good spirits lately. Its fidgety brand of ska-punk went kaput a few years ago, and while they watched several of their contemporaries rinse away, the members of Reel Big Fish inexplicably now find themselves on the same label as platinum pop stars Britney Spears and 'N Sync. Good for them. Cheer Up! is the kind of feisty, kinetic album that people stopped making years ago--"Ban the Tubetop" is pure Oingo Boingo frivolity, "What Are Friends For" revisits the tubular splendor of Fishbone, while "Good Thing" wouldn't sound entirely out of place on a vintage Elvis Costello disc. Not quite as knowingly hip as Sum 41, and clearly not as commercially savvy as No Doubt, Reel Big Fish occupy a precarious position, and they know it. The intro to "Where Have You Been?," the closest thing they have going to a Blink-182 song, features an answering-machine message left by a disgruntled record company employee begging for just one "modern rock" single. As if. --Aidin Vaziri

5 out of 5 stars Cheer Up is amazing!.......2007-06-19

This is by far my favorite RBF album. it has a little bit of everything, and the Sublime cover of Boss DJ... so much better then jack johnsons version in my opinion. :)

5 out of 5 stars This is RBF's absolute best........2007-01-05

Buy it if you are a true RBF fan. The lyrics gripe about everyday problems with a optimistic sarcasm clung on to it. It does a great job blending fast and slow with hard and soft and has a variety of different songs. This is where most of their hits are at. Dig at it!

5 out of 5 stars GrEat! : ).......2006-05-16

Well i think im in love :P....i love his voice oh yeah its good music too

1 out of 5 stars Great! (for people who don't like RBF).......2006-03-01

This is a great album for those of you that find rhyming strings of words like "dreaming", "breathing", "feeling" and "appealing" fun to listen to.
I absolutely love their older stuff, but am completely embarrased listening to Cheer Up. I cannot imagine how the same band that was able to come up with such fantastic, fun lyrics in their older material could not string together a decent song. Who really wants to listen to New York, New York? I kept waiting for the joke. There's got to be a gag.
Well the joke was paying good money for this album.
If you like clean, pop music, and are thrilled at Dr Suess level rhyming, this album is for you. I will be waiting for these guys to "grow" back into something that I can listen to...

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING.......2006-01-21

this is my first album i bought from RBF and i must say that it literally kicks ass. i can listen to this damn thing front to back, track to track. even songs like "New york, new york" are tolerable. the horns are awesome, the guitar rifts are bad-ass, and the lyrics are catchy! git it, the album is amazing!!

5 out of 5 stars A riffin' good time, man..........2005-01-13

I havn't listened to this in a while...when rap-metal was the exception rather than the rule, these guys were the masters of the underground. As I listen to this now, a smile crosses my face...these riffs are cutting bone, man! When you got Devin Townsend (SYL) on board, how could they not? Unfortunately, rap-metal grew to be yet another obstacle for real metal bands, which is ironic, cuz these guys were as metal as you could get. DISCLAIMER-These guys were in fact pro-wrestling loving steakheads from the South, but they made up for it through their sincerity-they believed in what they did, and it showed.
A true original, and an f'n good time.

wow bonz was on fire on this cd! this is some of the heaviest stuff on the planet! buy it it's worth your money!

5 out of 5 stars The best and heaviest album.......2004-03-26

Here comes the monster...

The second album stunned fan's and silenced
critic's,capturing all the energy and power
of their live show's and summoning not only
their tightest line-up but heaviest audio
representation,reinforcing to all that Stuck
Mojo are first and foremost a metal band who
just happen to possess a machine-gun lead vocalist.

I first saw these guy's on this tour.
They opened up for Type o negative and I
saw this show in New London CT.I have never
heard of them before until I saw this show.
It's too bad Stuck Mojo broke up.One of the
best hardcore-old school rap band's of the 90's.
I never knew why they broke up.They were one
of the best.

Pigwalk is their heaviest album and their
best album in my opinion.

Pigwalk is a must own for every hardcore
fan and a must own for those who never
heard of them before.

5 out of 5 stars Devin Townsend Production rules........2001-08-10

Staight up, this cd is the whip. For those of you who don't know, this cd was produced by Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad, Physicist, Zimmer's Hole and his many other side projects. He is also featured on tracks 9 and.......I believe the other one is 6. This is one of Stuck Mojo's heavier albums in my opinion, mostly because of the Townsend factor. Anyways, this is by far my favorite album from Mojo and I'd recommened this CD to anyone looking for some decent metal.
