5 out of 5 stars Interesting musical taste contrasts.......2006-04-05

It's really interesting how musical tastes contrast, especially with this CD. Frankly, Bert's rendition of "Someday We'll Be Together" is what drew me to this collection when it was only an LP. The great majority of the songs are very well done and constitute real listening pleasure. His treatments of "Traces" and "Something" are hauntingly beautiful. This collection rests in my top five Kaempfert collections of all time.

5 out of 5 stars True Kaempfert!.......2004-11-24

I really loved Traces by Kaempfert. His music is so majestic
that you want to see it live. If you love Kaempfert, you will
love Traces. A magical journey through a music wonderland!

3 out of 5 stars Worthwhile Kaempfert.......2002-11-02

There is nothing overly sensational about this Kaempfert outing, nor is there anything substandard. Kaempfert's sound is workman like and solid on many of these recordings, such as Raindrops, Jean, Traces and Games People Play. Less than good is a reworking of the Supreme's Someday We'll Be Together. As with most of Kaempfert's arrangements trumpets are front and center. Kaempfert's music, more so than Percy Faith's, who usually stamps his easy listening reworkings of 60s materials with lush strings, sounds like what elevators used to feature years ago.

5 out of 5 stars One of the greatest instrumental album ever !.......2003-08-30

This is surely one of the greatest instrumental album ever. The sound is great : our dear Peter Klemt - the Kaempfert and James Last engineer - received an award in USA as The Best recorded Pop album of the year. "We can make it girl" is among the finest Kaempfert/Rehbein composition/arrangement. A MUST.
UN MUST ABSOLU ! Mériterait un Diapason d'or...

5 out of 5 stars One of Kaempfert's albums which his renditions at best.......2000-10-11

Eventhough I have ever been Kaempfert fan for some 30 years, I was not knowing this one until recently, and I purchesed it rightaway. The outcome was striking. Being re-released on CD, and thanks to the digital remastering technique, the sound is gorgeous and beautiful that both Kaempfert and H. Rehbein's renditions ( on this 1970 CD album featuring the strings ) are so palpable which they are capable of expressing both love and euphoria with their own way of musical style that even my wife likes it for long time. I really am fond of this CD album and I assure you that this memorable CD will bring you a new flavor to your life.

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME...AFTER THIRTY YEARS...........2000-04-03

It is impossible to pick out ONE favorite of all the Bert Kaempfert albums but THIS one will stick in your memory for years! STILL have the original wax I bought in 1971! You will never forget "WE CAN MAKE IT GIRL" and 'THIS WOMAN IS MINE"!! The definitive scoring of "Love"! BUY IT!!!

5 out of 5 stars Kaempfert's BEST.......1999-01-19

To all fans of great music: Please consider this album for your collection. I have been a fan of Bert since 1965, and still am!!! Of all 40 albums in my collection, I can say that this one is my favorite! I originally got the L.P. in 1969, and wore it out, went through copy number 2, also. To the Kaempfert fan, you have come to expect excellence, but this album is truly spectacular!! The STRINGS in this record are what sets it apart from early Kaempfert. They, combined with Bert's trademark trumpets and brass, make this a must for Bert fans! And the WALTZES!!!! My all-time favorite Bert track can be found here: "One day with you", which just happens to follow the spectacular waltz, "This Womanis mine". This is a one-two punch for the ages, and even though it is almost 30 years old, now, it is as modern and beautiful as the day it was released! ALSO, for the absolute best version of the popular song "Jean", listen here! ENJOY, I sure do, OFTEN!!!
