Love Them.......2006-07-23
I know them and have heard them sing Live and all four of them have beautiful Voices. The cd is wonderful.I listen to it all the time.I did a dance to their song "crushed" and I can not tell you how many people told me how much they loved the song. They sound exactly the same way in person that they do on the cd so you know that you are not listening to coputerized voices, like some famous singers today(I won't Mention any names but we all know who they are).Their songs have been on movie such as: "How To loose a Guy in Ten Days", "The Lizzie McGuire Movie",and
"Home on the range"
1)I was only (Seventeen)
2)Decisons
3)Stop stay away from my sister
4)Crushed (My Favorite)
5)Living ain't easy
6)Catch me if you can
7)Unbelievable You
8)Falling out of love with you
9)Why don't you just Kiss me
10)Once upon a broken heart (beautiful song)
11)You make me feel like a star
12)My Christmas Was In June (also very beautiful)
13)Emily
I've never heard anything like this.......2005-12-21
I bought this CD about two years ago, and still marvel when I listen to it. These girls are amazing. I'm so glad I heard I Was Only Seventeen on the radio and fell in love, because the rest of the CD is also jaw-droppingly wonderful, featuring the strong, soulful voices, precise harmonies, and contagious melodies of these four sisters. There's something for everyone on this disc (with the exception of hard-core rap fans and country western fans, who should not be on this page at all), whether it's heart-rending ballads like Crush, sunny love songs like Once Upon a Broken Heart, extremely upbeat numbers like Catch Me If You Can, or contemplative mid-tempos such as Decisions, the title track. The only song I find myself skipping occasionally is Livin' Ain't Easy, which doesn't have quite the shine as the others, but does nothing to dim my amazement at the efforts of this phenomenal group.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!.......2005-10-28
I think these girls are GREAT! I too saw them in concert as an opening act for Kelly and Clay and they were terrific. I went out and bought their CD and listen to it a lot. Their harmony is right on and rates as one of the best I have heard. Very upbeat and catchy songs. I wish they would make another CD.
saw them.......2005-08-23
with Kelly and clay. I loved them, rudy shut up, ur so fake. I don't know a single guy like that hardly. Why don't you SHOW it. All guys are jerks, I barely see a single one that isn't in the stone age.
A Quiet Treasure.......2005-05-31
I found this CD in my local library and took it out on a whim. I had never heard of the band.
I'm very glad I borrowed it!!
From their opening cover of "I was only (seventeen)" to "Emily" these girls have created a fantastic collection of music.
My favorite songs are "Stop! Stay away from my Sister" for its dead on accuracy (as anyone in a family of sisters can relate to!), fun lyrics and splashy arrangement and "Emily" for its sheer beauty and melody of the girls' voices.
But really, there isnt a bad song on the whole cd. It's a collection of songs with beautiful lyrics, fun vocals and a youthful totally *not* overproduced feel to it.
If you get a chance, take a listen and enjoy! Kudos to these talented young women and a sincere hope for future additions to their song catalogue!!

The 187-Master on a solo!.......2005-12-30
Big Hutch aka Cold 187um who's the front man of Above the Law, Cold 187um goes under his alias, Big Hutch to bring a solid solo joint to your ears. The better known man from Above the Law brings his distinct voice and style over some more G-Funk beats that Above the Law has always brung. Production is good and just what you'd expect from something Above the Law is on, nice, smooth G-Funk beats, Big Mil does 6 of the 15, Big Hutch does 4, DJ Silk does 2, SOC, Aaron, Tha Chill all do 1. Guests are on half of the songs, and KMG of Above the Law gets in on 3. It has 2 songs I skip, 4 are ok, and the other 10 are good, with one being a great song. A good album to have for fans of G-Funk or Above the Law. Big Hutch has a pretty tight album, I've seen the music video to the song Bubonic Plague if anyone is interested!
The 187-Master's best are 2, 3, *4(featuring Ha Ha Loc & Bam), 5(featuring KMG & Tha Chill), *6(featuring Xzibit & KMG), 8(featuring Safecracka), 9, *10(featuring Young Ten & Bam), 12(featuring Saafir), 13 & 15(featuring KMG & Bam).
Surprisingly Good!.......2005-09-23
I made a blood oath years ago to buy anything that Cold 187em (now Big Hutch) and ATL put out. For the longest time after the bomb (and I mean that in a bad way) of an album "Forever Rich Thugs", I haden't heard from this group. In perusing Amazon, I found that Big Hutch had two albums out I had not had (Executive Decisions and Live from the Ghetto) and I knew I had to get them, no matter the cost.
In terms of Executive Decisions, I had hoped that this album wasn't as bad as Forver Rich Thugs; thankfully it was not. In fact, it was very good. I would be lying if I thought the rap in and of itself wasn't growing old - it is. But I am some 15 years older now and probably have had my fill of pimping, hustling, and balling. The refreshing part of this album is that almost all of the tracks have some freshness in the music: "Do You Know" is as good as it gets from any ATL album. Its probably easier for me to list the tracks that miss: 2 Killas, Playa Hater (although its kind of funny) and the "Bonus Track".
Buy this album if your an ATL fan and you can get it for under 20 bucks; you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Big Hutch: the artist.......2001-11-24
The godfather Big Hutch is really far away from many other groups who know success in HipHop's world. His sounds and beats are uncomparable. That single style puts Hutch above the Hip Hop. More than a musician, Hutch is a real talented artist. If you're a true fan of Above the Law, EXECUTIVE DECISIONS will become a masterpiece in your collection.
Real playas innovate.......2000-08-16
I've had this album for six months now and it's still growing on me like bacteria. The beats are really something mad fresh - reverse tape loops, little twittering synth sounds, sweeping string chords - there's no end to the invention Hutch brings to this crisp biccie: and all underpinned by that PHAT bass you expect from a west coast artist. Many of the flourishes are so subtle you don't notice them at first listening. Complementing the understated beats is Hutch's smooth, almost whispered at times, delivery on the mic. Yes, my friends this album is the dog's proverbials. Not instant gratification but an album of hidden treasures that'll keep you craving for a LONG time. Ease into it.

The latest soul singer to break out from the thriving Philadelphia scene is singer/songwriter Jaguar Wright. (The City of Brotherly Love is the birthplace of legends Patti LaBelle and Teddy Pendergrass as well as more recent arrivals Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, Jazzyfatnastees, and Bilal.) Like Scott, Wright came to prominence through her association with hip-hoppers the Roots, contributing her considerable vocal skills to the rap group's "What You Want" (from The Best Man soundtrack) and "The Lesson, Part III" (from The Roots Come Alive). Wright's powerhouse alto works lusty rumbles and righteous wails with an ease that would do Lady Marmalade proud, so it's a shame much of the material on her debut relies heavily on repetitive, ho-hum grooves that mask her potential to let loose and sing. Things work best when Wright taps into the blues-woman/bad-girl vibe you'd expect from a girl named Jaguar, like on the Etta James-style opener, "What If"; the sassy, street-hardened soul of "Same Sh*t, Different Day"; and the tell-it-like-it-is ballad "Self Love," one of the few cuts on which Wright's pipes really get to shine. --Sylvia W. Chan
Customer Reviews:
Timing is everything.......2006-10-05
Once this Artist finds the right time to blossom she will. I must admit I do love the What if's, other than that. I really did not find anything else on this album that excited me. Honestly the what if's is such a powerful song it carried the entire album. So if your feeling the neo-soul movement, then purchase this cd.
Motivation.......2006-07-31
A guy at my job turned me on to this CD. He actually burned me a copy of it after bragging about how talented she was. I loved it and played it out. It actually encouraged me to start listening to more Neo-Soul artist. She talks about more then just being in love, she talks about life and the drama that comes along with it. I also have Divorcing Neo to Marry Soul, get it dont sleep.
This Was A Mess!!.......2006-07-28
Thank goodness I purchased this CD used. It was horrible. I know that Jaguar Wright's voice is much better than this CD. That's why I'm so mad that she let this cat out of the bag.
What's up with all the cursing? She's trying to be the Neo-Gangster of soul? I was very disappointed with this album. It was not a good look and I would definitely think twice before buying anything from her again. I don't recommend this CD to anyone.
Denials Delusions & Decisions.......2005-11-26
I bought this disc in early 2003 after hearing a radio interview during which Jaguar sang 'Love Need & Want You'. I thought her voice was "crazy" and couldn't wait to hear more. During the interview and then after as I read her liner notes, you could hear that this was a young woman who had experienced a lot of pain in her life - she chose to exorcise those demons through her music. If prospective buyers want to give her music a try & are offended by profanity then by all means, get the 'clean' version - you'll still be blown away by this young lady's voice!
The positives about the disc are definitely the production and her voice - there is a live instrumentation feel that drives the whole project & like other 'alternative r&b' or 'neo-soul', if you like, gives music of this genre a signature sound. At 12 tracks, it's succinct and gets to the point - I appreciate discs that have 12-14 tracks of GOOD music rather than those that push it to 22 tracks where 8 of those are skits or interludes.
The standout tracks to me are: THE WHAT IF'S, STAY, AIN'T NOBODY PLAYIN, SAME SH*T DIFFERENT DAY PT II, LINEAGE & COUNTRY SONG.
Although I applaud her ambition for tackling Patti Labelle's LOVE NEED & WANT YOU, I didn't particularly care for her vocal phrasing of the song but it is a hard song for me to hate so she gets props for trying.
If you are a fan of alternative r&b & enjoy listening to new talented singers, then definitely give Jaguar Wright a chance (I just bought her new cd and can't wait to listen to it).
Arguably one of the best debut albums ever,.......2005-08-15
Jaguar's vocals are so strong and soulful, and she has such a wide vocal range. This whole CD is solid material. One of the best debut albums I ever heard. This is what the music industry needs.
This is true soul. Words cannot explain...

Rare and Uplifting CD.........2006-06-30
Couldn't stop listening. Wow. Almost 2 hours of incredible stories, humour and some of the most meaningful thinking I've heard. I had to play the F-16 track for my husband. He stole the CD for his car, and listened to it all!(I bought a second one.) The true history stories are beyond inspiring. Just the story about our Civil War hero Joshua Chamberlain, makes this a great buy. You will know you have the power to make meaningful differences in our world, home and family, after playing this. AND, you will not believe your ears as Andy puts his boys to bed..It will change your home. Full of grace and hope. Worth every penny. Julie & Ben

You Won't Be Disappointed!!!.......2006-01-29
I first heard track 3 (Ain't No Lovin') from this CD on Steve Quirk's Fusion Flavours program and immediately liked it...not only does Tisdale play bass, but he also sings!!! I purchased the cd and was just in awe over all of the tracks!!! This cd is a must have for anyone who is into smooth, contemporary jazz....truly, every bit of 5 stars and more....buy it...you won't be disappointed!!!
Wayman plays from the soul.......2005-07-31
man...I can't say enough about this album. I've had this album for a few years now along with everything else released by Tisdale. I absolutely love this album. There are about 5 smooth jazz songs in my entire collection that can bring my hectic world to a soothing, fuzzy, warm, anesthetic, calm. "Fell in Love" is one of those. The Everette Harp/Tisdale collaboration is outstanding. By the way, "Better Days" the Harp/Tisdale collaboration on the title track of Harp's album is also one of the those magical five songs. Truly spirit-lifting music.
Folks, this man is for real!.......2003-03-10
The former NBA star's transition from basketball to music is as smooth as the material on this record. With "Decisions," Wayman proves that he definitely has what it takes to thrive in the music business. Much of the material on this album is more smooth jazz than what was whipped up on "Power Forward" and "In the Zone," which had more R&B and fusion flavors. There are even some Latin American grooves in track 4.
For those of you who think ball players can't play music (yes, Shaquille O'Neal's attempt at rap was embarrassing for us all), give "Decisions" a spin. It is an excellent album and would be a perfect way to set the mood for a romantic evening with your loved one. A must-have for any fan of contemporary jazz.
Whoa! Basketball should have come second..........2001-08-29
Being a bit of a music snob, I found myself viewing this album with immense sketicism. 'Ball players can't play music. He's just trying to get over on his name.' I couldn't have been more wrong with Tisdale's Decisions. The selections go from sultry, to soulful, to soothing, to downright sexy. He never lets up on the listener, changing genre within the jazz arena like a music chameleon. This is without a doubt one of the best 20 jazz albums I've ever consumed aurally. Highly recommended - should be a part of any try afficianado's collection!
Simply the best.......1999-12-15
This album is a stroke of pure genius.wayman is the man and one of the most gifted men walking on this planet. When I first heard "decisions" it was love.

They're great, and not just because............1999-10-30
Marc Pulido is my cousin. If you don't believe me, why would I make this up about a band who, inoffensively, is not famous. Hi! To all in Chicago if you read this.
Crisp brass section and strong vocals comprise this CD.......1998-08-11
We have thoroughly enjoyed this CD because each song creatively blends soul and rock performances to deliver an exceptional listening experience. The brass sections powerfully keep the movement of the songs alive while not missing a note. The harmonies of Pulido and group work well together. Keeping this CD in the CD-ROM drive at work allows me to enjoy each song while at work throughout the day.
rockin,r&b, blues , & soul.......1998-07-30
tracks 1,2,&3 are winners they are in the vain of old Staxx/Volt, thick husky vocals,& multi-harmonies are staples. The horn section is stellar on most of the record. Make sure to cuddle with someone you love when you listen to tracks 5 & 6. This record has some great lyrics if your so inclined Pulido & Barbeau manage to take you on an urban, soulful tour without any pretense, highs & lows, wins & losses. If you are looking for something NOT run-of-the-mill, get this record. In a world of pretenders, & classless noise makers, welcome to some fresh musical air.
