This CD is a benefit project, the proceeds of which are donated to autism research and support foundations. Matthew Savage, a 7-year-old piano prodigy, and Eyran Katsenelenbogen, his teacher at The New England Conservatory of Music, perform their own solo/jazz improvisational piano pieces. Matthew (and his mom) intersperse original poetry readings about life and autism. It is a fun, upbeat musical adventure unlike anything you have heard before. It is truly amazing to hear Matthew being a child and then play jazz and improv the way he does. And Eyran's playing is absolutely masterful. He captures your imagination and takes you away to another world.

An impressive, funny, touching & magical first release..........2004-02-07

I won't effuse at any length about this release since it is technically "out of print" except that to say whether you are a completist nut [like myself] or simply like truly "original" recordings then you have found one. Eyran Kacenelenbogen's playing provides an interesting balance to Matt Savage's wild geyser of energy [the out takes are hysterical !] and the entire disc is a great example of what happens when the "magic" between / by artists makes it onto tape. Get it if you can; see my reviews of The Matt Savage Trio discs for a hint...
