"The legend continues," writes the only remaining "real" Temptation Otis Williams in this CD's thank-you notes. There is little here besides his survival and the group name to connect this to the classic lineups' prodigious achievements, however. Phoenix Rising lived up to its title by becoming a hit in 1998, yet it sounds more like Babyface leftovers sung by Take 6 than anything deserving of carrying the once-mighty Tempts' handle. --Rickey Wright

5 out of 5 stars They can still do it........2005-09-30

This is a refreshing new sound and direction for the Temptations. But as always, it's good as usual. Theo Peoples is great in the lead on " Stay " and yes it is him. I saw Theo recently singing lead for the Four Tops and at some point, near the end of one of the songs he was leading, he threw in a line from " This is my promise " . I was floored. It was at that point that I knew that it was him on all leads, where many of us thought it was Barrington "Bo " Henderson, on this incredible album. Having sang in a singing group myself, I am well aware of the different vocal textures possessed by various singers. I know it's Theo's voice. Believe me, it's Theo and not " Bo ". If you don't believe me, go see the Four Tops as soon as possible, and you'll realise it's him too. Anyway, all of the songs on this cd are great. We all know they're not the original leads, but this is great singing-period. We know they can't compare to the original five, so why should we? We should assess this collection of Temptations on their own merit-period. This is how they should be assessed. It's a great CD.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing because of their " HARMONIES".......2005-08-09

This cd is tight because of it's harmonies, not just because of Theo Peoples. And contrary to what Rickey Wright had to say, this cd sounds like the Tempts, not like Take 6.He must not have heard "Everybody Needs Love"just listen to when The Tempts sing the part {Wanna Be Kissed} from Everybody Needs Love, it's sung in the same tone as {Let Me Be Your Man} from "Stay".And how the original Tempts harmonized on "The Way You Do The Things You Do" in those deep voices, repeating "The Way You Do The Things You Do"just like the newer Tempts did on Stay Til The Morning Baby Rock Me Girl Like I Wanna Rock You.It's sung in the same deep tone.Modern day studios are way better than the old studios, that might be another reason why he said it didn't sound like the Tempts, but it seems like some people don't know that singing in a modern day studio is totally different from singing in a old studio. As time went on studios improved dramatically from the 60's to the 90's and up until today. The newer studios also have better microphones, everything concerning the studio is better today. But anyway, this cd is a must have, the harmony is great, as soon as you put in the cd it's amazing. If you're thinking about buying it, stop thinking and just buy, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Somebody said The original Tempts never sounded better collectively. I disagree, "The Way You Do The Things You Do","Message From A Blackman"from The Puzzle People Album is proof that they did, as well as "Dream Come True",","The Little Drummer Boy","SIlver Bells","I Heard It Through The Grapevine" from the cloud nine album,(turn down your right speaker to just hear the vocals from the left speaker on "I Heard It Through The Grapevine)."Gonna Keep On Tryin Til I Win Your Love" from The Sky's The Limit Album. All of the acapella versions off of the new DVD and especially the acapellas of You're My Everything, Just My Imagination, Cloud Nine and Ball of Confusion prove that there's nothing like The original Tempts. Their version of "You Can Depend On Me" and " I Gotta Know Now", "Try To Remember" , "Hello Young Lovers" and "Psychedelic Shack" live.{Psychedelic shack That's Where It's At- deep voiced harmonies again.} I gotta say You Can Depend On Me again. You Can De, then you hear the bass on "pend", come on, the classic 5 is untouchable, but I respect your opinion.

Temptations forever

5 out of 5 stars outstanding because of Theo.......2004-03-10

This is a wonderful CD due most in part
to the outstanding vocals of Theo Peoples
on Stay, This is My Promise, and If I Give You
My Heart. Although he is not credited on this
CD for his contributions his efforts should not
go unnoticed. He is my favorite Temptation and
now a member of the Four Tops. If you ever have
a chance to see him in concert don't pass it up.

5 out of 5 stars Love it from beginning to end.......2003-10-03

This is a great album. I've always loved the Temptations and this CD does not disappoint.

5 out of 5 stars A fitting hodgepodge of Temptations styles.......2003-07-09

Released to coincide with the Otis Williams' book, as well as the highly rated NBC biopic, "Phoenix Rising" is an appropriate title for an album that, like the mythical bird, represents a re-emergence of the legendary group. With Williams as the only surviving member of the original quintet, by the time of the album's 1998, many feel that the "Temps" glory days were behind them.

Boy, were (and are) they wrong!

The disc has enough of the "old" and enough of the "new" to satisfy old school purists and R & B novices.

The album begins with a forty-four second "interlude" entitled "Hereafter" that allows the respective voice parts to shine. Following that is the hit "Stay", a song that pays tributes to the group's roots. "False Faces", cut #3, has an 80's feel about it while the fourth track, "How Could He Hurt You" is as contemporary as anything by R. Kelly or Brian McKnight.

"This is My Promise" is the stuff that weddings are made of.

Other strong cuts are the Freddie Jackson-sounding "If I Give You My Heart", the funky "My Love", and the heavenly "Just Like I Told You".

Melvin, Eddie, Paul, and David may be gone, but their legacy continues with the present incarnation, thanks to the tenacity and determination of one Otis Williams to continue the Temp's tradition.

5 out of 5 stars Music to the ear.......2003-01-08

The Big Wu has a nack for creating both jam friendly and masses friendly music. My friend who are 'jam band' fans (for lack of a better term) love this album and so do my friends who listen to mostly pop music. The music isn't weird like a lot of the stuff put out by many bands on the jam band scene. It is pretty simple and straight-forward for the most part and yet provides excellent structure to use as springboards for improvising. Big Wu has found a was to be as close to radio friendly as possible while still keeping intact their jam band style. On another positive note, the music of "Folktales" just makes me smile. If you are new to the jam band scene I highly recomend this album because it is easy on the ears and not too far out there. On the other hand, if you love jam bands then I highly recomend this CD for you too. Big Wu's "Folktales" will not dissapoint you. Stand out tracks are "Minnasota Moon", "Boxing Day" and "Oxygen", although all the other songs are good too.

5 out of 5 stars Great Driving CD!!!.......2002-03-23

Boy I'll tell ya, I was unsure of this CD when I bought it at a Wu show in Santa Cruz. Then I listened to it while driving to the desert and it is one of the best CD's around!!!! I can imagine Boxing Day as a radio single. Minnesota moon is just too much fun,Two Person Chair and Oxygen crawls into your brain and hits the nerve to tap your feet and S.O.S will sail into your side that loves a great extended song. All the songs are great! The Wu is a great and welcomed band in the world of 12 song only radio stations!

5 out of 5 stars Phat.......2001-09-24

Big wu is awesome. Buy this cd! even if you are not acquainted with bands of this nature you will like it. It is nice to have the big wu around to help fill the gap left when phish took a break. Also, if you have a chance get out and see these guys live, they're a lot of fun.

4 out of 5 stars The Wu shine in their second release!.......2001-09-18

The Big Wu write ... good songs. This album is a showcase of those talents. I love all the songs... each one makes ya want to get up and dance. Great melodies. Some nice lyrics, and all done with a lilt and bounce that is only the Big Wu. Check it out!

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding!.......2001-01-31

i'm not really sure if the person that gave this cd a bad review actually listened to the correct album, because i think that this is an amazing cd. its very similiar in style to Tracking Buffalo, in fact, i hear many similiarities in rifts and so forth between the two albums. they are both excellent products of a relatively new band. if you like god street wine, ominous seapods, percy hill, string cheese incident, ekoostik hookah...give The Big Wu a chance. and if you want to trade some shows (got lots of cheese and phish, looking for smaller bands), write me at bgr1@jhu.edu. hope this was helpful. keep the groove alive!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Just amazing retro Tubes.......2002-02-23

All of the material on this CD was recorded before the "fame and fortune". We have some demos and some un-released tunes. The un-released material is a display of sheer musical talent. All of these songs appear to be high energy jam sessions that have been polished to a nice tight presentation. Most impressive is the fact that the un-released songs are all done live ( in a small to medium sized club)yet still sound studio "tweaked" as far as band tightness is concerned. The signature changes, lighting quick fills, and off time drumming of Praire is a clinic in dynamic drumming.Fee and the boys sound like they are having way too much fun , I just wish I was one of the few people in the crowd during the taping of these sessions.
If you a moderate to hard core Tubes fan you will love this CD as it`s an timeless documentation of the creation of one of rocks most technical groups. Listen and pick the songs apart for yourself... you`ll agree.

5 out of 5 stars The Tubes at their earliest and most experimental.......2001-03-19

The real highlight of this disc is the batch of live demos from their pre-A&M days. Songs like "Baby, Your Face Is Mutated" and "Never Amount To Nothing/Hermuta" showcase the superb musicianship and wicked humor of this oft-overlooked cult band. These songs best capture the spirit of The Tubes as a live act. The early versions of "Brighter Day" and "White Punks On Dope" aren't as polished as the versions that would find their way onto the first two Tubes records, but what's great about The Tubes isn't always what's "polished".

5 out of 5 stars It is about time!.......2000-04-13

It is amazing that it took so long for this collection of great tunes to come out. This is the album that those of us have wanted to hear for over 20 years. It captures the band before the commercial producers at A&M and Capitol put their spin on what they felt the band "should" sound like. The music is raw and real, it is the closest to the live shows yet released. I hope there will be future volumes of material from this vastly under appreciated band.

3 out of 5 stars Embryonic Tubes.......2000-03-30

Just picked this up the other day. If you're a big Tubes fan you'll want to buy this, but be warned, these are very early recordings from the band's beginnings and is not their best stuff. Early versions of WPOD, Mondo Bondage and Brighter Day are interesting to listen to but the real reason to buy this CD would be to hear the songs that have never before been available. A lot of the subject matter in the lyrics can be found in later Tubes songs (ex. Whiz Quiz/What Do You Want From Life). Musically, these equate with early Tubes albums but lyrically, these songs are strictly the novelty type.

5 out of 5 stars Review of Tracking.......2001-01-10

On Tracking Buffalo, The Big Wu blends clever rhymes with catchy melodies to create an extremely enjoyable CD. They easily differentiate themselves from and possibly supersede other small jam bands with their songwriting and playing ability. The lyrics sometimes have a ballsy triteness in their rhymes that is nothing less than hilarious. My favorite aspect of the CD is how diverse sounding the band is. The Big Wu shifts from G Love/Sublime sounding vocals to a String Cheese sounding acoustic guitar solo to a harmonious "Phil and Jerry" duet jam. The drummer controls the dynamic level quite well and never seems afraid to turn it up a notch when the music calls for it. He is one of the main reasons the jamming sections of the CD don't sound forced, but rather progress naturally. Highlights include Silcanturnitova, Precious Hands, and Red Sky. I strongly recommend this CD for anyone even remotely interested in this genre of music.

5 out of 5 stars New, fresh sound.......2000-06-28

The Big Wu just flat out jams. I've seen them live, and they can play. The album provides a great outline through the different styles that they can mold together into a style all their own. The song Red Sky provides killer lyrics along with one hell of a jam. I would encourage everyone, especially those of you who are into jam bands to check out The Big Wu.

5 out of 5 stars The Big Wuuuuuuu.......2000-03-22

Album of the year? By a mile. And this comes from a band who excels live. I can go days without listening to anything but Wu. Buy this album or miss out on something absolutely beautiful. See them live when they hit your town or state. See ya at the show.

5 out of 5 stars Happy to be one of the gang.......2000-02-29

For those who depended on Wed. nights for survival this and any other recording by the Wu is a necessity. To the uninitiated, this will be a new treat for you. If you enjoy jam bands, positive messages, and music to dance to, help yourself to a big tasty helping of Wu. Each song on this album is strong, each melody is unique, nothing harsh or overdone. A real treat. I've had the pleasure of introducing many friends to my favorite band, and I invite you too, my friend. You won't be dissapointed. Sil CAN turnitover.

5 out of 5 stars Big Wu, the review.......2000-01-20

I think I've played this album so much that my CD player melted through it. I can honestly say that it really is that good, and the odd thing is that the Big Wu have gotten even better since it was put out, considering that it hjas been a couple of years now. Definitley buy this one, and look for the new one, entitled "Folktales for the Bloodshot" coming out soon. I see it's on sale, don't pass it up when opportunity knocks. The sound is very ecclectic, mixing styles of rock, bluegrass, country, R+B,and anything else you can imagine with dueling guitar parts and sweet vocal harmonies. A real treat for any jam band fan, or rock and roll lover.

3 out of 5 stars its playing live again.......2006-08-15

A mere two years after the (rather short but) excellent live outing "Derringer Live", on the heels of the band Derringers albums "Derringer" and "Sweet Evil", Rick Derringer comes up with another showstomper under the monniker "Derringer" again, which suggests being the name of the band but is unsure whether at that time that band still existed. After the 3 aforementioned albums that band at least dissolved and Rick Derringer picked up his solo-carriere. He then released the studio LP "If I weren't so romantic I'd shoot you" from which a few songs are culled in this radio broadcasted concert, on which only bassplayer Kenny Aaronson from the now defunct band is present, together with 2 new players on guitar and drums. Where the aforementioned "Live" was a real hard rockalbum, with plenty of guitarsoloing, this latter album is more straigth, run of the mill. Some oldies are present ("Let me in", "Teenage Love Affair", "Beyond the Universe" and of course the showstopper "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo", including excerpt from the Kinks' "You really got me" - that is long before Van Halen repeated the trick - are also on 1976 "Live"), "Roll with me" dates from his time with Johnny Winter, together with new songs, one penned and mainly performed by the rythm-section, another by Warren Zevon. Anyway, Derringer, being the sole musician or being the new band, surely could play a steaming liveset with lots of guitars throwed in. Even if half of this setlist is already recorded live shortly before it is enjoyable to listen to.

5 out of 5 stars This is what you call LIVE!.......2004-08-19

Have you ever wondered what a great rock concert would sould like captured on CD? Well pick this up and you will find out in spades!!!!!!!!
The wild guitar rock never stops on this album.
It opens with a Derringer standard Let Me In. Eventually you are led to Midnight Road, one of Rick's best songs and it sounds even better here live than it did on the studio album.
Plus check out Roll With Me.The intensity is so hot you'll be calling the fire dept.!!!!!!!

3 out of 5 stars Derringer Rocks.......2003-09-02

Taken during one of Derringer's best periods. This performance is not with one of his best lineups, but is definately one of his best song lists. If you appreciate "If I weren't so romantic...", You'll love the rare live versions from that Album here. Would rate the overall CD higher, but the other tunes are better on other compilations.

5 out of 5 stars DERRINGER ROCKS!!.......2002-06-24

EXCELLENT LIVE CD BY GUITAR GOD RICK DERRINGER. ALTHOUGH THIS LINEUP IS NOT THE ORIGINAL AND BEST DERRINGER LINEUP, MYRON GROMBACHER ON DRUMS AND NEIL GERALDO ON GUITAR AND KEYBOARDS (AND BOTH OF PAT BENETAR FAME) DO MORE THAN A CAPABLE JOB OF FILLING IN FOR THE DEPARTED VINNY APPICE (DRUMS) AND DANNY JOHNSON (GUITAR). ONE OF THE BEST THINGS ABOUT THIS CD IS YOU GET 5 TRACKS FROM THE VERY HARD TO FIND ON CD "IF I WEREN'T SO ROMANTIC, I'D SHOOT YOU", AS WELL AS THE USUAL DERRINGER GEMS.
A MUST OWN FOR ANY AND ALL RICK DERRINGER FANS. BANDS JUST DON'T PLAY LIKE THIS ANYMORE.

4 out of 5 stars Essential Listening For All Derringer Fanatics.......2000-03-30

Derringer fans who have longed for his LP "If I Weren't SoRomantic, I'd Shoot You" on CD now have a partial reason tosmile. Most of the material from that LP is performed live on this CD. It's a shame Rick didn't do 'Monomania' in this set. Get this while you can.

4 out of 5 stars nice music, cheesy lyrics.......2000-04-07

Artension is a prog metal band with focus around the keyboardist versus a guitarist. The vocalist at times sounds a lot like Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, Impelliteri) and the songs are generally catchy. The lyric department could use a little work... "Show me the answers to questions within my heart" pleas the band on the first track "Area 51.." Since when are questions about aliens heart felt? And then there's "Through the Gate" with the oh so original "Through the gate... it's too late..." Otherwise, this group seems to have some potential, check them out if you like other progressive metal acts like Dream Theater, Stratovarius, Rhapsody, etc...

5 out of 5 stars 6/5 Stars.......2005-04-08

I would rate this is 6 stars if it were possible. This is a phenominal album. It's epic, dark, heavy, and badass! Get this if you are a fan of death/black/thrash metal. It is a perfect blend of these three genres, and manages to not sound like any of the three. It's unlike anything I've ever heard. Every track is 10/10.

5 out of 5 stars Riding The Solar Winds!!!.......2002-04-13

I love all of Destroyer 666's awesome fire spewing death/thrash style of metal, but this album is the best since it has so many firey goodies on it!! The best song by far is "Ride The Solar Winds", mainly becuase its about riding the winds directly descended from the sun, a huge firemass that rules supreme, plus its got some unique sinister brimstone riffs all around!!! In the song "Rise Of The Predator" it has the awesome line "The fire, the desire to live", I say right on, fire brings you life brother!! Also in the song "Phoenix Rising" is the awesome line "Oh to be reborn in fire, Oh to reap the reward of power"!! Right on man, these guys realize that fire indeed brings you power!!! This is true fire worshipping at its best, so be a brother of the flame and pick up a copy or three!!!...

5 out of 5 stars God doesn't stand a chance........2001-08-28

When I listen to Pheonix Rising, I can picture in my mind an army of demons storming the gates of heaven. As the final notes of The Birth Of Tragedy play, I envision paradise exterminated. Satan now takes the throne and bangs his head to Destroyer 666. Pheonix Rising is just that damn good all the way through.

5 out of 5 stars Elite Satanic War Metal !.......2001-08-22

The latest offering by D666 is absolutely killer. It conveys the same hate-ridden diabolical spirit as "Unchain the Wolves". This time around, however, Warslut & Co. have added more depth and distinction to the songs, giving each one its own unique feel. Two songs, "I am the Wargod" and "Lone Wolf Winter", even have melodic parts. The lyrics are excellently written and are from a somewhat Nietzschean perspective. A spoken word sample serves as the album's intro and as a manifesto of the misanthropic sentiment that never lets up on this recording. The musicianship is also better than ever. This album is a must for any fan of extreme metal !

5 out of 5 stars Their best CD from a solid studio band.......2003-12-17

I've seen Ozrics several times and have most of their CDs. For some reason, Ozrics has always created polished studio efforts, starting with the classics Erpland, Strangitude and Jurassic Shift, going through the underrated Become the Other & Swirly Termination, and ending with Hidden Step. However, for me, the CD that holds up the best over time and continues to grow in depth is the fabulous Waterfall Cities. On this disc, the 2nd Ozrics lineup achieved their greatest focus and consistency, and produced a space-rock masterpiece.

The title track, in my view, contains one of the five or six finest recorded guitar solos in the entire decade of the 90's. Here, Ed Gwynn channels Jeff Beck into a powerful, multi-phased statement of true virtuosity. Building in ferocity as the extended solo passage progresses, and yet avoiding the technical excesses of the Malmsteen/Vai/Satriani school, Gwynn builds the theme of the composition and finally erupts into a scorching single-string line that circles around the key of the passage and brings it home in flawless fashion, followed by a keyboard jam passage of stunning beauty that takes the song in a completely different direction. Satriani only WISHES he could build compositions like this. Exciting and inspirational.

After opening with a passage resembling chamber music from Mars in Ch'ai?, Gwynn also contributes another scorching solo which is built upon an incredibly solid rhythm section backdrop - another specialty from this particular Ozrics lineup. The whole disc is like this. Without going into detail about every track, the entire CD breathes of integrity and concentration. This is a flawless effort from a band that really deserved a lot more exposure than they have ever received.

i met a couple at a 'yes' concert - they gave me an ozric tentacles disc (pungent effulgent) - these humans were surprised that i was unfamiliar with the ozrics - since i am such an avid 'yesfan' - - knocked-over as i was after hearing 'pungent' - that decided to try waterfall cities - this is quite amazing music - its sound is fluid and yet solid at the same time - very very impressive - it should be played at maximal volume - which implies raw power - yet it has such delicate moments of beauty that it is astonishing - - if you've come to this page - you're probably already familiar with this music - so i'll not convince you to buy this - either you will or you wont - - but *if* you really did just stumble here to this page - and are unfamiliar with this group (as i was) - buy this disc - it is not 'progressive rock' really - i have no idea how you would catagorize this music - it is truly unbelievable - it defies description

5 out of 5 stars Spiral Mind & Coily- Oz T Best ever!.......2003-02-23

Next to Erpland, (FOR ME) this is the best overall CD from Ozric Tentacles! This is the second line up of the current band and it all comes together here. This ensemble works very, VERY well together. Ed has his usual mastery of the cosmic music waves. The band CLEARLY draws much influence from the Gong Record You, but they play it better and with more of a percussive punctuation than even Gong did! The new line-up from 1997 pulls together here and has not come close to matching this achievement. I am sorry if your a fan and disagree with my thinking here. Buy Pongmaster's Ball then (it is aweful- the good members left the band for that). Waterfall Cities IS an EXCELLENT spin!

4 out of 5 stars Elements of rock, funk, jazz and new age.......2001-09-29

I admit I'm a newcomer to the Ozric, but so far I'm glad I've been introduced to them. They take you through a marvellous music journey incorporating diverse elements, making it both unique AND extremely listenable. If they had advanced synthesizer technology back in the 70's, I imagine it would have sounded like this. On the first few listens most of their work sounds like a long improvised jamming session recorded on the fly, with influences ranging from ethnic rhythms through eastern mysticism, reggae and modern jazz, although firmly routed in a rock setting. Further listening reveals a complex and subtle structure beneath the apparent free-form and whirling keyboard textures, and the mesmerising repeated riffs. One could call them new age, or even dance, but to me this has too hard an edge to fit truly within those categories. In any case, incorporating all of this and weaving it in and out of odd time signatures makes for an interesting and rewarding listen.

3 out of 5 stars eerily transcendent.......2004-02-17

This is a live album, and quite honestly, though I like Lake Trout's work, I don't like this album as a whole. Their live performances today are better than this, and they seem to have come a long way since then, judging from this release. Its seeming lack of direction is too loose and free-flowing for my taste, and the majority of it sounds like an almost exact (though drawn out) mold for what's to come on their following release, Another One Lost, their best album to date. Still, I recommend it for the songs "#2," "I'll Be" (also featured on Volume for the Rest of It) and "Throw Me the Whip." #2 in particular is intense and utterly hypnotic, the best song on the album. In fact, I would sum up the mood of the entire album as reflecting an intense, introspective dive into the unknown. If you like music that takes you to the edge of trippy and weird (in a good way), then you'll appreciate Lake Trout. That said, they really should put out a live album from among their most recent performances and include songs such as "Peel," "Bully," and the untitled songs that are featured on the encoded MP3 version of AOL, some of which are taken from a live performance at XM Satellite Radio in D.C.

4 out of 5 stars Fantastic blend of indy-rock and drum'n'bass.......2003-05-21

I'm not sure I can add much more than has already been said, but the flow to this album is superb, and DJ Who adds a perfect dimension to the unique Lake Trout sound. While at times the compositions themselves seem a bit weak, the album as a whole is fantastic to listen to, and I had it in my car CD player for three or four days straight, which is pretty amazing considering I have a twenty-minute commute each way to work. I definitely recommend this album for anyone curious as to what the hype is about...Lake Trout mixes the rhythms of drum'n'bass quite well with some of the sounds of more standard indy-rock, while even blending in a little bit of the jazzy aspect to their songs. It's dark, but not brooding, and there is a lot of motion to the album. Definitely a recommended CD to pick up.

5 out of 5 stars Jazz-rooted, electronica-visited, uberoriginal rockers.......2002-11-10

Lake Trout started as a swoony jazzy thing that reminded me of Sting's _Dream of the Blue Turtles_. Then, a few years ahead of their time, the delved into a drum-n-bass thing that's in evidence in heaps on this release, Alone at Last. It isn't conventional drum n bass, in that it's all live (the drummer is SICK!), but also in that it rocks and rolls harder and farther than most. Excellent stuff!

The band is of course off in another direction. More recently, they're more directly rock, losing the jazzy and electronic edges for something a bit more heavy and fast. Alone at Last is a great taste of them before that transition.

4 out of 5 stars Get this one...don't waste your time on STS9.......2002-09-23

Lake Trout is an amazing band. They got the jam/jazz/post rock/minimalist/ambient/electronica vibe going on strong. Blows mediocre comparisons like STS9 out of the water...no pun intended ;)
