5 out of 5 stars What Explicit Lyrics?.......2001-04-17

This is beautiful jazz music. Her voice is very mellow, laid back and smooth. She reminds me a little in parts of Susannah McKorkle. Maybe it's the phrasing. Very relaxing music a traditional jazz fan should love. I was very impressed because I had never heard of her before. I was especially impressed with her version of Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most. Easily one of the best I've heard - and I've heard a lot. She keeps most of this song in the lower registers where she's most comfortable, so that the few high notes she has to hit she can without becoming screechy. Excellent arrangement.

I dont know where that "Explicit Lyrics" warning comes from, but don't believe it. There's nothing obscene on this album. Not even close. As far as I can tell she doesnt change the words to the songs at all. This is a normal jazz album [in that sense], by an excellent jazz singer.
