If you're into old school funky lounge groove, this is essential listening. Lots of classics you've probably heard sampled elsewhere played by the original masters. It's an B3 organ, wah wah guitar extravaganza.

This CD features the extremely funky sides of McGriff and Holmes... plus two cuts of Jr. Parker. - - its the greasy jukebox JB groove infested late '60s funk side of the B-3. If you're looking to hear the more straight ahead Jazz Blues side of Griff, or the Bebop side of Holmes, look elsewhere... this is pure greased out funk - - funked up rhythm section horns and all. If you enjoyed Griff's FUNKIEST BAND IN THE LAND, James Brown's instrumental Albums on Smash (JB on B-3) and stuff like that... grab this. If you like JB circa COLD SWEAT and MOTHER POPCORN... GET THIS... And if this is up your alley check out Charles Kynard and Reuben Wilson. FILE UNDER FUNK ! ! !
