Dexter Wansel was Philadelphia International's director of A & R. As a writer /producer arranger, performing this multi-role for all of the label's top stars, including Teddy Pendergrass, The O'Jays, Billy Paul, Patti Labelle, Lou Rawls and the Jones Girls, writing the all-time classic 'Nights Over Egypt'. This CD contains third and fourth solo albums, from 1978 and 1979. `Voyager' is an album of funk and spacey jazz, whilst `Time Is Slipping Away' features vocal cameos from Terri Wells and The Jones Girls, and contains the hit single `The Sweetest Pain'. Dexter brought a very jazzy and laid-back production and musical approach to the PIR sound (which is very much apparent here on these two albums). His own solo recordings were never as popular as the ones he produced for Teddy Pendergrass, Lou Rawls and Jean Carn but they stand the test of time nonetheless.

I can't believe the artist Annor Doeman is playing all of the music herself! This CD has Jazz, R+B Blues Pop Reggae, and Soft Rock I LOVE IT! Let me know when the next album's coming out!!!
