Look out, Old Santa's back!
Product Description
A jazzy, swingin' live holiday recording from this Minnesota vocal jazz quintet. "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" is complete with vocalese solos, a contemporary jazz take is given by Michelle Weir on "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," and a traditional a cappella "Coventry Carol" has a beautiful opening that features the women of the group nicely. "Snowfall" has a beautiful quiet saxophone intro, while "Happy Holidays/The Holiday Season" has a great big-band sound. The album's arrangements are mostly from group member Denis Allaire, but some are also adapted from Gene Puerling, and Mervyn Warren of Take 6 (an adaptation of Handel's "Alleluia" chorus from The Messiah). This CD is chock full of great vocals and filled with contagious holiday energy.
