Simply put: The greatest harp music ever recorded........2000-03-19

For those of you who enjoy classical music, or even those of you who think harps are only for angels, this CD is definatly one to hear. The CD starts on a happy note and takes it's listener into every emotion the harp can take you, which is nearly all of them at the same time. Yes, I admit it; this CD has brought me to tears with its Clair de Lune. I have also watched as it brought another to the same end during the Aria. I highly recommend it for anyone who wishes a touch of elegance in their home.

hey, everyone, if you're lookin for the finest jazz ever played, well, u couldnt have found anythin better than andre previn... i dont even need to explain y or make any arguments,... just listen to it and you'll love it!
i just want someone to tell me where in the world could i find the jazzy score andre composed for gene kelly's movie Invitation To The Dance,...??????

PREVIN A LA SMOOTH.......2000-07-25

Andre Previn has always been a unique figure in the music world. A classical conductor (The San Francisco Symphony, as an example) and an accomplished jazz pianist puts him in a rare league of players. This album is a compilation of 3 LPs recorded in the early sixties. The first 9 selections had strings and unlike the musak that this could have become, the solos of Previn are tasteful and to the point. The next 2 selections are a quintet session of Kurt Weill tunes. JJ Johnson on trombone is wonderful and stands out. Then back to the strings; but this time the strings sound more percussive and moody; almost like minature film scores that Previn feels at home with. The album ends with another purely jazz small ensemble. An album like this would have never flown today; but the taste and class of Previn and his cohorts could make it so once again.

From Ragazzi Music, October 2005 (translated from German): The music of Random Touch is unusual and avant-guarde and this undoubtedly limits sales of their creations. But this doesn't stop the trio releasing a steady stream of new CDs and constantly redefining their extravagant inspiration. The band experiments restlessly and produces ethereal, passionate pieces that are both immensely moving and life-affirming. "The Elegance of Falling" cannot be called jazz rock in the same sense as "Hammering On Moonlight". Stylistically, it is hard to pin down and can probably only be classed as jazz-interwoven free avant guarde. The angst-ridden tracks are saturated with unrelenting drum beats, spherical keyboard passages and fading guitar riffs, creating uncertain sound combinations that are filled with a thriller-like suspense without ever giving way to a melodic motif. The rhythm and upbeat melodic roar of the songs leaves the listener with an image of a train rushing through space. The sound they produce is ostensibly virtuosic and abstract to the extreme, without ever being cold or technical. "Was mögen das für Bäume sein, wo die großen Elefanten spazieren gehen, ohne sich zu stoßen" (What kind of trees are these, where large elephants go walking without stumbling), I sang as a child. Here one could ask: what kind of musicians are these, that give us music so far removed from what we would call popular? Although no longer in their youth, the trio have held onto their creativity and inspiration. Not only that, they have also succeeded in bringing their music to the people with a technical flair and in their own musical language. Lacking courage they are not, and, not just because of this, they get the big thumbs up from me.
