Album Description
MUSIC FROM THE MYSTERY OF SELF-DISCOVERY. Song-poems in a folk & country style, with intriguing arrangements of acoustic guitar, cello, violin, piano, bass and percussion. There is a secret behind what appears. It reveals itself in the most unexpected moments. The undeniable sense in the stillness of a summer's night that a star is looking back at you. A glimpse of something profoundly captivating in the space between two thoughts. An inexplicable occurrence of perfect peace in the depths of excruciating pain. Always, it takes you by surprise. The usual ways of knowing cannot catch it. Like a bird winging across the sky it leaves no tracks in memory. Yet it is unmistakably here, unmistakably real, more real than anything that can be known. And once glimpsed, even for an instant, there arises in the depths of the soul a hunger for it, a love affair with it that will not be satisfied by anything in this world. The songs offered here are born of this love affair. Each is an invitation to a love so mysterious and ruthless that it will not rest until all belief in oneself as separate from that Secret is stripped away, revealing beyond any possibility of doubt that it is truly YOU who looks back on a starry night, YOU that is present in the empty space between thoughts, only YOU that shines as the Heart of All Being. Album Description
Continuous Wave is a collection of new rock/pop/jazz songs written by San Francisco singer/songwriter Paul McBurney and performed by the new band PMB. The album was produced by legendary LA studio musician and producer Greg Porée. 1. "Good Day" describes a man who has lost his identity, who fades into being a dog or a frog, who feels invisible, but still finds meaning in life. 2. "Destroyer" describes the son of Godzilla who tries to live up to his fatherâs reputation. 3. The character in "Save You" knows too well the risk of dating, but would risk it all to find the bliss of perfect love. 4. "Deep in the Forest" is a harmonically interesting fable about being lost in the forest. 5. The question about how we can live forever is pondered in "Never Fade Away". 6. We have to question whether "Fabulous Feline" is about a cat or a woman. 7. "Angel" is about the power of a trippy chick who is the daughter of an Army father. 8. "First" questions whether we should and how we can escape our past. 9. There is always something going on with "Sister", the real sister of the band drummer. 10.The lives of a drug dealer and illegal migrant farm worker are contrasted in "Wild West". 11. When love becomes an addiction, separation can be like being in a sensory âDeprivation Tankâ. 12. "Love Is" questions where a relationship is a prison, or whether one is a prisoner trying to avoid one. Give yourself a chance to be taken away not only by the poignant lyrics, but also warm saxophone, walls of guitars, lush organ pads, and funky drum and bass.Jazz Music:
