What can Alex Sanz do after writting one of the greatest latin-pop songs ever (Corazon Partió), produce an excelent unplugged performance and become one of the greatest selling spanish artist ever?
The answer: No Es lo Mismo, translates to something like Not The Same (Thing). And it is very aptly titled. Maturity as an artist is what Sanz brings on this album. OK, still the romantiticky ballads are there, but if you listen closely, its more intricate, more polished conceptually, long gone are the days of the "canta autor" image that soooooo many latin artist never shed and made them extinct. For those new here, like Shakira, Aleks Sanz is at the cutting edge of a nuevo Latin pop that is defined by globalization. The element that defines this album is diversity, but what makes it beautiful is passion. Listen to the Try To Save Your Song, could be the atmosphere of New York on a hot summer day as well as Miami, Playa Del Carmen, Ibiza or Buenos Aires. Highly recommended.

I've never heard him before until I saw a video of his. I bought this cd, not expecting too much because of never hearing him before, but boy am I glad I bought this!! I am truly impressed and happy!! I look forward to the next one!!

This CD is the absolute best CD I have listened to in a long time. I bought this album, having not heard any previous music by Alejandro Sanz. Boy I am glad I did buy it! It is continuously played in my car and also in my computer music library. With Alejandro it's all about the passion he puts into the lyrics. He is an excellent songwriter. The songs on this CD are uplifting at times and slow and beautiful also. My favorite tracks include, "Eso", my absolute favorite about his heartwrenching plea for understanding of a love that once was, and also "Lo Dire Bajito" and "Al Olvido Invito Yo" both beautifully written. Every track stands out. Buy this CD and you won't regret it. The title makes sense because "It's not the same" as Alejandro's previous albums and that's what makes it so great. He can be so diverse in his music but still capture the true essence about why he is such a powerful musician/songwriter and a prominent figure in Latin music today.

If you dont know this man who sings a variety of music from ballads to rock to pop to a flamenco type of essence now is your time to sample this mans extreme talent. Just an outstanding human being with a talent that no one else can ever match. His raspy voice that sings along his guitar sends a sense of emotion through your spine whether you undertand the lyrics sung in spanish or not. There will never be an artist such as alejandro sanz. Primera impresión que me engañó por completo.......2004-08-28

Cuando escuché la primera canción "NO ES LO MISMO", pensé que con este álbum, Alejandro Sanz la iba a romper nuevamente. Pero me equivoqué por completo. Si bien es cierto "NO ES LO MISMO" es una gran canción, en lo particular, me gusta muchísimo, tanto como las grandes canciones que este español a producido durante toda su carrera, las demás canciones de este álbum, son fácilmente olvidables (en mi opinión).
El segundo single del álbum "REGÁLAME LA SILLA DONDE TE ESPERÉ" es una canción del paso, creo que no es de esas que quedan en el oído de uno, y las tararea en el auto, es simplemente una canción olvidable. Podría seguir así con las demás, pero creo que lo que más me llamó la atención de este disco fue una sola cosa que me pareció sorprendente.
La canción "TRY TO SAVE OUR S'ONG" definitivamente hubiese sido la última canción en asignársela a Alejandro Sanz, antes de saber de quién era. No va con su estilo, con ese estilo, hasta antes de este disco, tan fiel que este genial cantante y compositor mantenía. Me parece que se ha dejado corromper por el mercado, espero que no sea así, que no siga los pasos de los Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony y Chayanne, que sólo sacan música para satisfacer a sus disqueras que les exigen VOLUMEN DE VENTAS y no mantener sus raíces, su identidad latina que alguna vez los identificó. Se han prostituido al mercado estadounidense, y de allí nunca más salieron. Lo que llamo MÚSICA BASURA.
Espero que Sanz se rectifique y vuelva a la esencia que lo caracteriza, componiendo tan buena música, del estilo tan propio y característico que ha sabido mantener por tantos años, desde que sorprendió con sus álbumnes "SI TÚ ME MIRAS" y "VIVIENDO DE PRISA".

I already had the original release of this album but I don't regret one bit getting it again in this new version packed with great things by Alejandro.
His poetry never ceases to amaze me. Mi Niña is one of my favorites, its a beautiful lullaby with spoonfuls of flamenco and latin beats... Alejandro's favorite mix. Get it today and fall in love with his music track by track.

If I was forced to pick only one artist that I could listen to, Alejandro Sanz would be the one, and like another reviewer on this page, I can't understand a word he says. This guy is a MONSTER talent. I'd give a body part to meet him in person.

This is the last production of the best spanish singer.In this album you can find a different Alejandro Sanz than the one who sang "Corazon Partio", "Mi soledad y yo", and "El alma al aire". A whole different album with mixes of his classic pop with new sounds like bolero and hip pop. An example of a bolero song is "Eso".Others songs like "No es lo mismo" nake copletely the situations in Latin America".I recommend it because, if you are a Alejandro Sanz fan, you will experience something different to albums like "3", "Mas", or "El Alma Al Aire".
