Un poco repetitiva, pero es la salsa de la nueva generación.......2007-03-08

En los 90 tuvimos la mejor generación de niños de la salsa, como jerry rivera, rey ruiz, victor manuelle, india, quienes ahora son verdaderos monstruos. Este conjunto repite los mismos pasos, simplemente 10 años después. Vale la pena escucharlos, son melosos y divertidos, pero nada que se compare a los grandes de la salsa.

I love this CD every song is a duet with another famous Salsa singer, Rey Ruiz,Julio Voltio, Victor MAnuelle etc.....this is great salsa, loads of fun to dance to!

Soul Stirring Songs.......2003-10-03

I'll always love you. This is my all time favorite album at the time when I first heard this album was in the mid sixties a time when women's Liberation and the Civil Rights movement were in full gear, and many of these songs recognized women's feeling and their right to act autonoumously in love whereas in the past especially in the Puert Rican culture women had to submit to whatever the man wanted otherwise you were subject to gossip, inuendos, and rejection. Ya son las doce: always made me think of the woman being in control for a change where the man is the one pining for his lover, who may or may not show up. Amor Perdoname: A flirtation that could never go any further but the hormones are ragging. My all time favorite ever that made this album number one as it related to my circumstances then. OLVIDAME: This song just had the thoughts that I had to stifle as a young housewife and marriage did not meet my expectations. When Tito sang these songs I felt as though I was his lone audience in the world.

This was my favorite of the several Tito Rodriguez bolero albums PolyGram reissued circa 1994-95. All were very good, but this one includes "Olvidame", "Ya Son Las Doce" and other favorites.

Hey Paly, have another cocktail while I tell ya' bout the chick who flew the coop and now Im trying to put out that torch. Just as well as Sinatra sang Angel Eyes and you knew what he meant, cause you been there yourself. Tito Rodriguez was a hell of a singer of ballads and you knew where he was coming from. Romantic songs of love and loss for grown ups. In Spanish but it just makes it, the song, the lush arrangements, and the voice all the more emotionally true. One for my baby and one more for the road.
