Even with the astonishing success of Colombian rock star Shakira's 1996 breakthrough Pies Descalzos, the release of this remix set merely a year later seems premature. Still, it is notable for a few reasons. Shakira's edgy, pleading delivery on the tracks "Estoy Aqui," "Un Poco de Amor," and "Donde Estas Corazon" translates well for the dance market. Remixers Meme, Pablo Flores, and Javier Garza surround the singer with pulsing glitter-ball rhythms that play up the desperate lovelorn lyrics. The Remixes also includes Portuguese versions of a few songs to appease Shakira's ever-expanding global audience; she handles the translations well. This is a nice gem for ardent fans and club bunnies, but it would have been smarter to wait until after the release of Shakira's second full-length, Donde Estan Los Ladrones, to allow for a wider selection of material. --Joey Guerra

This is a must have for anyone who loves Gloria. The heavy bassline grabs you right from the onset of Dr.Beat through the closing measures, extremely rhythmic and loaded with Latin flavor. If you're having a party, this CD will get your guests out of their seats and onto the dance floor.

At nearly 24 minutes non-stop, I highly recommend this for daily workouts as well.

Great megamix CD from the pioneer of Megamixes - Mike Platinas.......2005-09-19

What a great way to revive the Italo megamix than with this fine album, featuring most of the greatest hits of italo dance music from 83-87, megamixed by the fantastic master of all megamixes: Mike Platinas, the pioneer of the spanish megamix. Who brought you the classics Max Mix 1, 2 and Mas Mix Que Nunca, Mike Platinas' effects are incredible, many reflecting his past megamixes (the Viola Wills effect used in . For those who have always been fans of the italo megamix will love this album, which also includes his effects and jingles as a bonus for any DJs who would like to sample the master's effects. Check out Mike Platinas other megamixes/mixes: Max Mix 1 & 2, Mas Mix Que Nunca, NRG4U, Disc Jockey Mix, Master Mix 1&2, Bombazo Mix 3, Maquina Total 10-11 but i'd say this one is one of his best to date, buy it now!
