Delivery was quickewr than expected although I live in a remote part of Italy. Also no surprises in payment and address info. Good work
"Let Go" of Your Shekels and Buy This CD.......2006-06-15
I'm a latecomer to Nada Surf, and now I rue the lost time I could have spent replaying the songs of this excellent cd. LET GO is funny, plaintive, poignant, but not syrupy. Just when the material seems a bit melancholy, the next song is confident and upbeat.
In other words, LET GO has got that perfect balance of musicianship, tunefulness, and structure that a pop music lover digs. I don't have a lot more to say about this band. Why waste time praising (near) perfection?
SIDELIGHT: The iTunes genre this falls under is "Alternative and Punk." Not. This seems like the default genre selected for contemporary rock/pop bands.
Good Mellow Rock, For The Most Part.......2006-03-28
I think somebody compared Nada Surf to Toad the Wet Sprocket. I think it is a fair comparison. Most of the songs are mellow, guitar based numbers with a few faster songs thrown in. One of the latter types is "The Way You Wear Your Head" which is the reason I bought the CD. It's the best song on the CD in my opinion and one of my favorite all-time tunes. It may be an easy, pop-hook tune, but what's wrong with that? It's fun as heck!! Another song, "Hi-speed Soul" could very well be a Toad the Wet Sprocket song."Treading Water" is another faster paced song with good hooks. The rest are good, fairly mellow tunes which I enjoyed.
pop perfection.......2006-03-24
I'm not a big fan of pop, but I am a fan of the pop songs out there that are done with craftmanship. My review isn't even based on the entire album since all I have going for me is a "Blonde On Blonde" mp3 and a "Blizzard of '77" sound clip. But I have to say BOB is the most contagious and dreamy pop song I've heard in some time. I've named it my most recent #1 download on my blog even though it is a few years old now. I've probably listened to the Blizzard sound clip about 50 times. I must be crazy! But I haven't heard a hook this addicting since maybe never. When the acoustic stops strumming momentarily for Matthew Caws to sing, "I know I have got a negative edge that is why I sharpen all the others alot!/It's like flowers, or lady bugs pretty weeds or red beatles with dots!", I completely lose it. You have to hear him sing to the music to appreciate the beauty and art in the lyrical line. It's the same reason why Death Cab for Cutie jumped up into the indie spotlight if you will. The clarity in vocal and instrumentation is hats off. Caws isn't going to blow the roof off with his voice, but even better he has an effortless and smooth delivery. I think he is quite undervalued as a singer.
My tastes say Nada Surf has yet to prove themselves as a consistently solid band. But it doesn't matter because I forgive them for what they have accomplished on Popular (and the classic video), Blonde On Blonde, and Blizzard of '77. Thank you gentlemen.
Some heartbreakingly beautiful songs among the "rock".......2006-03-20
3 1/2 stars
I am a huge fan of the more romtantic(or lack thereof) tunes on this album...While there is a nice variety to the pop rock pallete, Nada Surf excel best when they deal with heartbreak and existential crisis, as exemplified by some of the album's best tracks..Underneath the safe time signatures lies advanced songwriting skills displayed in subtle touches of instrumental emoting..Overall not a masterwork but a definite worthwhile addition for the many haunting songs for you to Let Go to..

High Quality Power Pop/Alterno-Rock.......2006-07-06
This is a really good album of punchy rock... while it is labeled "alternative" by some, Nada Surf is so straightforward and refreshing on HIGH/LOW, they seem to be channeling the best parts of Jimmy Eats World and Weezer at the same time. The songwriting quality is excellent, and the lyrics are often meaningful, witty, or poignant, hinting at the moments of genius to come on future CDs like LET GO.
So if you like quality power pop/alterno-rock, give HIGH/LOW a spin. "Zen Brain" alone is worth the price of admission.
Slightly above generic.......2006-03-20
With few exceptions, this album sloshes through with pretty mechanical inclanations..Nada Surf were obviously just starting out, and by no means is it a bad debut rock alternative album, but it is definitly the wrong place to start, hardly hinting at their greatness to come..
Nada Surf's Shining Moment........2006-01-08
High/Low.
Released in 1996 this LP caused quite the stir in the rock world. Mostly for the smart and sassy tune "Popular." You might still hear that tune occasionally on a alternative rock station.
People who looked past that one hit and picked up this gem were treated to one of the perhaps most overlooked rock albums of the 1990s. Some accused it of being a poor Weezer rip off. I argue its superior in so many ways and its an essentual 90s rock album.
Its an album with Umph. It picks you up, and at least in my case inspires me. When you hit play "Deeper Well" starts pumping and sucks you right into the album. The vibe and the swagger of the record are infectious.
The pacing and song layout are almost perfect.
Ric Ocasek does a masterful job getting a great power sound out of the band. It sounds like a clean garage band recording. For a loud heavy album, its intimate sounding which is quite an accomplishment. All the instruments sound great.
Standout Tracks:
Psychic Caramel
Deeper Well
Stalemate
The Plan
Popular
Zen Brain (a perfect closer)
Sadly after this, Nada Surf changed musical directions. Unhappy with this direction shift they were dropped by Elektra Records. I honestly can't blame Elektra Records. When I shelled out $30 plus dollars for "Proxmity Effect" (AU import only in those days) because I was dying to hear it - I was extremely let down. It wasn't what I was expecting. The fun & inspiration was gone, as was the swagger. "Proximity Effect" is a morose, depressing, angsty and even preachy record. I listened to "Let Go" a couple of years ago, which didn't appeal to me either.
Fans of newer Nada Surf releases tend to look down at this effort. This is because it being a louder, brasher, faster, sassier record while having this b*tchin' swagger. Thats not what Nada Surf is today.
This album proudly stands on its own compared to the subdued material that came later.
I'll take this album over anything they've done since. It still inspires me on multiple levels and its brillance still shines brightly.
strong stuff.......2005-11-30
a decade after its release, this album still touches me. it brings back a lot of memories. if you think nada surf is just about "popular," you're missing out. every song is frustrated and melancholy. "deeper well" voices frustration at a romantic partner. "the plan" seems to be about feeling trapped in life and trying to find a plan, a way out and what to do. stalemate, treehouse and icebox are all great songs that lament a dying relationship. "psychic caramel" is the weakest, i think it's about the environment. "hollywood" is a surprisingly emotional song about trying to fit in with the cool people in every phase of life. and "zen brain" closes with sadness over aging and things not changing. this is great, original alternative rock music. the guy who says they're trying to be weezer doesn't have a clue. i'm a huge weezer fan too, and though they are similar to weezer in some ways, such as making catchy pop-rock and quirky lyrics, nada surf has NO interest whatsoever in being weezer, and prove it even more with their follow-up to this, the proximity effect. i recommend that one too. but if i had to pick only one to take to a desert island, it would definitely be this one.
The one that started it all.......2005-03-13
Yes this album will probably always be remembered for the hit signle "popular", but this album has some damn good tunes. The opening track "Deeper Well" sucks you right in and pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the album. Right after that is "The Plan" which keeps the rock going. The album continues to pick up steam as it rolls along, and "Psychic Caramel" and "Zen Brain" are the 2 best tracks in my opinion.
This album is enjoyable and easy to listen to, and I would highly suggest checking out Nada's other efforts to see how much they have grown from the days of High/Low.

Those sounds...a mirror for me.......2007-07-11
Dear Customers,
Thank you for sharing these wonderful arrangements. Cave of the Siddhars. Your music is instantly translated into soul messages. Musical soul massage. I don't know if it was my conscious mind or my unconscious mind but one of them surrendered to the music thanks to the constant didgeridoo in the background. My mind remembered a timeless aspect of itself. Turiya Nada's music that for the first few seconds had sounded extremely exotic fit into the mold of my being, as a result when I combined the music with asana practice I was able to deepen in the poses knowing that I was being "cushioned" by the call of Turiya Nada. The final "Arohara" invocations of the final tracks are perfect for the ending of savasana for me...and I believe for others too.
Thanks,
Nathaniel
that which is, that which we are.......2007-04-10
Cave of the Siddhars is an empowering journey bringing to light these ancient vibrations. Connect on a deep level with the inspiration of the perfected masters. Feel the immense wisdom these vibrations hold and begin to connect with thought as source in every breadth. If you are looking to align a deep spiritual experience this is the music for you as all walks of life.
Blessings
The Truth of Being.......2007-03-30
i remember listening to the cd before going to a healing movement class. the music and chants vibrate the truth of being. i was able to feel grounded with the ability to completely empty out into the silence of the divine. one of my challenges it to keep my feet here while embracing the inner light. this cd is very supportive of the healing journey and wherever i am in the moment. a beautiful merging of primal sounds and pure light. thank you for the gift of this cd!
Enter the magical/mystical realms :).......2007-03-12
Cave of the Siddhars CD entered my life back in May of 2006. Since then I have listened to it every day at least once. The blending of instruments and Nandhi's voice are amazing. Love it !! The resonance and high vibrational energies seem to awaken and stir ancient memories of knowingness within my being. At the same time bringing a sense of immense peace and joy. My cells dance to the vibrations. A CD that can be listened to anytime anywhere. Highly recommended. Dare to enter the magical/mystical realms of the Siddhar Masters and you won't be disappointed :)
A Powerful Journey into the Turiya Nada.......2007-01-11
The wonderful combination of sacred mantras and astonishing music creates a profound inner experience. It is a powerful and amazing journey into the realm of Turiya Nada. I experienced that I was able to reach into a whole new level of awareness by flowing with the sound/light waves.
I was initially curious about how the digeridoo and the many other instruments would work in combination with the mantras, and it works just perfectly - there is always a delicate balance between the music and the chanting. Pure enjoyment all the way...
'The Cave of the Siddhars' really manages to transport awareness to a profound inner state of light and grace. It is a true blessing!

Customer Reviews:
Deuter Tibetan Singing Bowls.......2007-01-03
I enjoyed this album as a great followup to Deuter's earlier singing Tibetan bowls work. I always enjoy his music and have most of his albums over the past 20+ years. This album continues the high quality of spiritually uplifting music that has come to define Deuter.
Good Vibrations.......2006-07-11
I have a stack of book reviews to write, but I just had to sneak in this little blurb before getting to the ceiling-high pile of books squatting accusingly on my desk: Deuter's "Tibet Nada Himalaya 2" CD on the New Earth label is pure pleasure on the ear drums. The rich thrum of the Tibetan bells and crystal bowls in each of the compositions fills the solar plexus with waves of relaxation, and triggers the production of endorphins. Highly recommended. (Jung's "Man and His Symbols" covers a section on the correlation between the sounds of bells, gongs, bowls, etc., and the resultant formation of mandala-like patterns of energy.)
If you live in a noisy place, or get knotted up with tension because of the insanity of this world, try listening to this CD.
My Favorite Meditation CD.......2006-01-13
I have dozens of yoga and meditation CDs and this has quickly risen to the top as my favorite. It calms and focuses the mind effortlessly and also creates a harmonious environment even when you're not meditating. All the sounds come from natural sources, mostly Tibetan bells and crystal singing bowls, not a one-dimensional droning synthesizer found on many meditation CDs. Now I understand why the Tibetans have been using these sounds for hundreds of years in their practices. Highly recommended!

Produced with Death Cab for Cutie's Chris Walla, The Weight is a Gift is a less elliptical musical offering than Let Go. Just as that 2003 recording put Nada Surf back on the map, after several years stuck in post-major label limbo, their fourth full-length proves its success was no fluke. As before, singer/guitarist Matthew Caws is as much lovesick dreamer as pop culture junkie. Last time around, he was extolling the pleasures of Blonde on Blonde, now it's Paris, Texas ("Comes a Time") and "Lenny Bruce's Bug Eyes" ("Imaginary Friends"). Ultimately though, it's the more emotionally direct material that leaves the biggest impression, like "Your Legs Grow" and "Always Love" (the only song that sounds a little like Death Cab). The one exception would be the fuzzed-out, but still poppy "The Blankest Year," which deviates into darker territory, like the Hollies covering Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life." --Kathleen C. Fennessy
Album Description
The follow-up to 2003's masterpiece, "Let Go", is a perfect pop album sure to alleviate the growing breathless anticipation among long-term fans and recent converts. It carries on the contemplative tone that characterized much of "Let Go" with tracks of heartrending beauty, introspection, wit, and often deceptively dark lyrics, while also displaying the band's penchant for pure pop melody. Produced by Chris Walla (Death Cab For Cutie, The Decemberists, The Thermals).
Customer Reviews:
Average at best. What happened? (3 stars).......2007-01-26
I know this isn't going to necessarily be a popular opinion, but I don't think this album has much going for it. Please, if you are considering purchasing this album get a pair of headphones and listen to the samples first. The first few tracks were strong, but it certainly tailed off. I suppose after the surprise classic 'Let Go' I may have been expecting too much. But that piece of work was head, shoulders, and belly button above 'the weight...' both lyrically and instrumentally. If you are looking for a 'blonde on blonde' type of track, you are not going to find it here. Am I dissapointed? Yes. Will I still give the next Nada Surf album a listen? Of course... but I wont be expecting too much if this album was any indication.
A must own for any loyal Barsuk lover.......2007-01-12
I am a loyal patron of the Barsuk label, and this album is truly one of my current faves. It is a little Death Cab mixed with a hint of Goo Goo Dolls. Best song by far on the album is of course "Always Love." For anyone who is considering purchasing this album I do recommend it. However, if you are not really into mellow indie then it may not be for you.
Quality Pop.......2006-11-12
The first 6 songs would have made a truly perfect album. I have no idea what "Your Legs Grow" is about, but it's a beautiful sounding tune. So are "Always Love", "Concrete Bed" and "Do It Again." I agree with the Amazon reviewer: the best songs here the emotionally direct songs and it would serve Nada Surf well to expand on this style of song on future releases.
How to evolve.......2006-10-12
The last Nada Surf record I listened to was their first with the funny song 'Popular', the rest of the album I dismissed for being too much like Weezer. Now they are a lot like more sophisticated (soundwise) bands like Death Cab. It's always good to see this kind of evolution in a bands sound. They are still not my favorite band and they will probably never be, but it's a good record to listen to nonetheless
Pop perfection.......2006-08-11
On "The Weight is a Gift" Nada Surf isn't doing anything it hasn't done before.
Thank God.
Matthew Caws, Nada Surf's primary songwriter, keeps adding to his already lengthy and impressive musical resume on this album. Songs with jangly and gauzy guitar lines and unforgettable vocal melodies ('Concrete Bed,' 'Always Love,') rub elbows with more moody explorations that are still as sweet as rock candy ('Do it Again,' 'What is Your Secret?').
'Your Legs Grow' floats through the air and ends with a brief deviation into acoustic strumming and ethereal drones. I could do without 'All is a Game' and 'Armies Walk' because they sound tossed off and unfulfilled, but the band answers those mistakes with the superb 'Blankest Year,' which jaunts through its two minutes. 'In the Mirror' and 'Imaginary Friends' are other memorable highlights.
This album is just another example of a band whose best work came well after they faded from the critical eye of major labels and big-market radio.
'Nuff said, except for this: 'Fools' -- a simple, sliding, one-string guitar line with a lilting vocal delivery -- may be the best song of this whole collection; why it's relegated to the bonus disc is beyond me.
All in all, "The Weight is a Gift" is an album that may not grab you immediately, but upon repeated listens its masterful balance of melody and muscianship becomes evident.

Awesome album.......2006-08-30
I've seen Nada Surf twice live and they were great both times. I'm surprised this album is not for sale on amazon, and I'm also surprised it got a 5 star review and is short of all the hype with certain magazines. This could be the most addicting, in a sense, repetitive album, where the pop melodies are so easy going it makes you want to sing along. This album has special meaning for me as I saw them perform tracks off of this album, live in binghamton when I was in college. Slow down has to be one of the best tracks along with the last track off of Let Go. If you are a true Nada Surf fan you will probably already have it, but well suggested for those who want an introduction.
Addicting.......2005-05-04
Bought this album 2 weeks ago and haven't listened to anything but this and Let Go. Two unbelievable albums front to back. Maybe 1 or 2 songs I don't like on both, but all in all you'd be amazed that there are only 3 members in this band. The best unknown band around, hands down.
This is one of my favorite albums...ever........2005-01-21
Wow, this album is so awesome and one of the best albums I have ever listened to. I learned of Nada Surf from their mid-90's radio hits "Popular" and "Treehouse" from the album High-Low. About 8 years went by where I totally forgot about the band, but then when I was in my downloading of 90's hits craze almost two years ago, I downloaded the songs "Popular" and "Treehouse," eventually followed by "The Plan" and "Stalemate" which were secondary hits of theirs. Soon, I was addicted and got as much of Nada Surf's stuff I could. Once I heard this album, I couldn't beleive how great it was. I read many reviews in the media that this album was their lowest selling and biggest dissapointment. WHAT THE HELL? That shows you how ignorant the media is because all they listen for is mainstream garbage. If you want to hear radio hits get High-Low because this album is much more unique and has such a variety.
The first song, "Hyperspace" is a great and catchy song and a good start to the album. It is really unlike their previous stuff in the sense that it is more indie sounding. It is not the best song on the album, but it is still a supurb song. The second track, "Amateur" is the self-proclaimed "single" from the album. I beleive this song got some radio play in the UK. It is a cool song with a really cool chorus and has a cool temp change near the middle. The third track, "80 Windows" is definitly one of the best on the album. It is a softer song with the greatest lyrics; it has so much meaning to it. The fourth song, "Mother's Day" is also one of my favorites and one of the heavier songs on the album. It is more of a comic song than serious and the ending is really funny (Blue balls and all that bull****, blue balls and all that bull****!). The 5th song, "Troublemaker" is a very unique song. When I first heard the album I never gave this song a chance at all. However, I actually listened to it and the more I did the more it grew on me. It is one of the most emotional songs I have ever heard and has a great tune and probably the 2nd best on the album. Now track six, "Bacardi" is by far the best song on the album and one of the best songs I have ever heard from any band. I go against everything I believe (my belief that nothing is perfect) by giving "Bacardi" a 10/10, but it is just that good! It is so heavy, has wicked bass guitar, and a major temp change towards the end. It is about the after-effects of partying, something I can definitly relate to. It is such a feel good song that gets you pumped up as hell. The seventh track, "Bad Best Friend" is another really good song, but is probably the least good song on the CD. It has more of a poppy tune and the lyrics aren't something I relate with. The eighth song, "Dispossession" is a song that was one of my favorites when I first heard the album, but was surpassed by almost all of the other songs. It is a good heavy song with an interesting chorus. Moving on, "The Voices" is one of my favorite tracks. It just has an all around good melody. "Firecracker," track ten, is also one of the best songs on the album. It is the only song on the album Nada Surf made a video for (I think) and I think it was also a single from the album. The song definitly makes sense and I can relate to it. "Slow Down," the next song is probably the most underestimated song on the album. When I first heard it, I didn't like it that much. But, WOW, is it good. Another one of the best songs on the album (notice a pattern?). The following song and track twelve, "Robot" is the original last song of the original release of the album. The lyrics are quite interesting and it has a real nice tune. It is also the longest track on the album. This version is much better than the less heavy version on North 6th Street. The final two tracks are two songs that were included on the re-release of the album in the U.S. "Silent Fighting," track thirteen, is an old b-side (from the High-Low era) which has not been re-recorded. It is a great song though with a really catch meldoy. I also really like the lyrics. The final track "Spooky" is so freaking awesome. The original version of this song was later released on North 6th Street and isn't as good. This version, however, is really cool and some of the lyrics have been changed up. I beleive this track was a b-side to this album. Anyways, this album is definitly one that should be picked up by anyone who just likes good music. I could see people who are into punk to soft slow alternative getting into this album.
Nailer..........2004-12-19
It takes a few listens, but "Hyperspace" is by far the best tune that Nada Surf has, aside from "The Way You Wear Your Head" and "Sleep." The rest of the cd is pretty kick ass, but there's a few tunes that are weak, namely "Mother's Day." If you want to listen to a cd that'll blow your skirt up without sounding too gay (ie, Nickelback, Good Charlette, anything on the radio these days...) than pick it up. Don't be a retard...and check out Ministers of Agony, a cool little local band from ND.
Excellence.......2004-10-20
I have not heard many albums in my life that I can honestly say is better than this one. It is amazing. You have to hear it to know what I mean. They should play music like this on the radio instead of crap like Nickelback. MTV should be playing good music like this instead of the garbage that they do play. This is truly a wonderful record and anyone who doesnt know about this is missing out.

Album Description
Deuter's masterful meditation music echoes the pristine essence of a Himalayan retreat by integrating Tibetan bells and bowls, chimes, and the natural sounds of a mountain stream. Expanding reverberations and overtones meld in perfect harmony.
Reviews "...Deuter has been gifted with an exquisite number of superb percussion pieces from Nepal, Tibet, Japan, and India. Sounding them with both tenderness and feeling, he manifests a timeless space in which endlessly expanding reverberations and overtones meld in perfect harmony." --New Age Retailer Magazine
"The sound of the mild connection with the bowls echoes and drifts to the point of entering the realm of silence. Nada's subtitle, 'Music for Meditation,' reveals ambient music at its very core..." --New Age Voice

Want to really relax?...then give this gem a try!.......2005-12-02
The effect of sound on the mind and body has been confirmed not only by human experience across the centuries, but in modern times has also been scientifically documented as well.
"Nada Himalaya" contains the AMAZINGLY CALMING sounds of beautifully harmonized, genuine (not electronically-generated) Tibetan bells and chimes on track 1 (30 minutes) and track 2 (15 minutes) - with the tranquil background of a mountain stream added on the third and final track (3 minutes).
After listening to the sound samples below, I decided to give it a try - and must say it's the most relaxing CD conducive to deep meditation I've ever heard, so much so that I've ordered Deuter's sequel CD called "Tibet: Nada Himalaya Vol. 2" hoping it'll be as good as this one is!
Excellent for relaxation and healing.......2004-06-08
This CD is amazing - I have lent it to many people and all have reported that it has helped them by relieving them of physical pain during listening. I have used it for getting rid of headaches, and I can actually feel energy moving through my body. It's like a reiki session done through music. Highly recommended.
Great stuff.......2003-01-07
I discovered Deuter about 10 years ago. I just got the CD and didn't read what it was beyond Deuter's name, so I was really surprised when it was just bells. At first I was disappointed cuz I was expecting something more like Nirvana Road or something. Nope. Just bells. But, I listened to it when I got home and turned it on while I went to sleep. Yeah, now I love going to sleep to it! I only give it 4 stars cuz I was expecting Deuter's keyboard style etc. of music. If I was looking for this style, I'd give it 5 stars.
Good vibs from these sounds!.......2001-12-24
This is my all time favorite CD to use in meditation. The sounds are soothing and ideal for calming the mind. At the end there is rushing water with tibetan bowls/bells and chimes---It's totally refreshing.
Pure Tibetian Bells..........2001-06-30
I have searched for so long for a cd that would be pure tibetian bells - this is it! The moment it starts it creates a type of serenity that is just impossible to describe. The cd is ALL bells - and Deuter has masterfully recorded, with great sensitivity, these gifts of Spirit. After a long, stressful day - nothing is more relaxing than to sit down and become lost in the sounds of Nada Himalaya. My cat loves it - it doesn't matter where she is in the house, she comes to share the magic of the bells.

It's hard to imagine a more disjointed upbringing than Kevin Johansen's: the songwriter grew up in Alaska and Argentina (to an American father and Argentinean mother). As an adult he spent a decade in New York City honing his chops and writing. Since moving to Buenos Aires in 2000, he's become one of Argentina's biggest pop stars thanks to a mildly psychedelic American-style folk song sung in English entitled "Down With My Baby," which is included on Sur O No Sur. The rest of album is filled with same kinds of cultural paradoxes: he mixes the traditional and the modern while peppering his nicely polished pop gems with salsa, samba, rock, rap, reggae, cumbia, country, hip-hop, and tango. Singing in both Spanish and English (and Spanglish), Johansen has the deep baritone of Leonard Cohen, yet his lyrics are far from somber, telling us that he doesn't take himself too seriously. Other highlights included here are the impossibly infectious "Puerto Madero" and the carnival-like title track. --Tad Hendrickson
Customer Reviews:
Good, but lacks some of the ritmo and fun of Guacamole.......2007-03-09
I love many of the songs on this cd but it lacks some of the ritmo that really made me love all of Guacamole and some of the quirkiness too. Definitely worth having though because it is still more entertaining and fun to listen to than most cds out there.
Absolutely great.......2005-07-16
Kevin is witty, fun and deep at the same time. I got the CD a couple of days ago and can't stop playing it.
Kevin is a world class musician.......2005-03-16
I have heard music far and wide from classic to hard rock from Corse music to china. I single out Kevin as an extremely talented musician. His music although unconventional is elaborate with stunning musicality.
Mellow.......2005-03-10
This is not your typical music in any sense. Kevin uses instruments in ways I have never seen before, and his topics range from tourism, moving to or from south america(he does not tell which), intellectual women, etc.
The lyrics can be very intertaining, and the instruments, once you get used to them you may certainly come to enjoy them.
However the main problem lies in the range of Kevin's voice. It is not very good, and in my opinion he would do better if he found another singer to sing along some of the songs.
One of the best albums I own.......2004-12-05
I knew Kevin when he was 15. We went to the same crazy literary workshop at La Escuela Del Sol in Buenos Aires. He had the deepest, sexiest voice I had ever heard and he still does! I bought Sur o No Sur first and played it constantly and endlessly in my car. Then I bought Nada and did the same. He's absolutely unique. A great singer and songwriter, playing with great musicians, having fun. What I find funniest is that I've incorporated some of his funny lines into my regular conversation with friends.

Sabroso!!!.......2004-08-03
Let's dance, very cool salsa music for my collection. It mixes very well with latin lounge.
one of her best!.......2000-06-26
After seeing Albita in concert on July 24th in Virginia, and after getting taste of some of her older stuff, I had to get this cd. I love the first 4ish songs teh most. This is an up beat cd, and it completes any Albita or Cuban music collection.
Incredible mix of afro/country-cuban beats and melodies........1999-02-03
This album is a display of the afro-cuban and country-cuban roots in her music. What's most amazing is the fact that she, unlike other cuban-american artists brings out the guajiro (country) flavor of cuban music.
bienvenidos........1999-02-02
