Luis Miguel ha tenido muchisimas super canciones desde el debut de este disco, pero es mi opinion que este sigue siendo el mejor disco de su carrera. Sin lugar a duda, las canciones en este disco siguen siendo de una persona joven, lleno de esperanza, listos para dar y recibir amor, personas completas con alta autoestima. LM sigue siendo la maxima estrella mmasculina de Latino America. No me crees? Dime quien mas, de gira solo, llena todas las butacas en un coliseo o arena en todos los continentes de America incluyendo a EU?

Aunque adoro todos los discos de LUIS MIGUEL, en verdad creo 20 años es mi favorito, simplemente lo encuentro genial !!!, en México casi todas las canciones de este album fueron grandes exitos en su tiempo y creo que cualquier persona en México cuando escucha alguna de las canciones de este album debe remitirlas a grande memorias de su vida, la canción amante del amor es hermosa, pero personalmente creo que la canción "HOY EL AIRE HUELE A TI" es en verdad una joya, es más creo que jamás había escuchado un título de canción tán sensual como este, Aunque ahora ya no se le considera a LUIS MIGUEL el artista latino más famoso, nada puede negar que sigue siendo la mejor voz que hay y seguramente habrá.

Just wanted to add to the already wonderful reviews. Like another reviewer, I don't speak any Spanish (although my basic Italian gives me a slight clue as to the gist of the songs) - but this is great music. It is beautifully orchestrated, soothing; Luis Miguel has a great voice. The songs are so singable that I am continuously trying to sing along phonetically. I never get tired of this CD, I can play it over and over.

Though I speak no Spanish, this album is a must for those who wish to surround themselves with soft, lush romantic music. Laying poolside, sipping Margaritas, soaking up the sun and dreaming of a romantic encounter all are enhanced by this album. Peppered with some lively songs just to keep you from forgetting where you really are!

A bit of pop, some R & B and a little jazz are all complimented by the perfect voice of Luis Miguel culminating into his 2nd Grammy for Best Latin Pop. Inolvidable!

Great! A "Best Of" type album..........2004-10-25

If you can only buy one Olodum album, get this one! It has more recent songs and also some of their older hits. This album contains Olodum's previously unreleased version of "No Woman No Cry" - a legendary tribute! Some of Olodum's classics like "Rosa", "Alegria Geral", and "Berimbau" have been remixed and the surdos (base drums) have more of a kick now. On this album, Olodum has invited other stars to perform with them on some of the songs. For example, Ivete Sangalo in "Rosa", Jimmy Cliff in "No Woman No Cry"; it sounds fantastic! Expect nothing less than the finest Olodum beats!

If you like Brazilian music, it's a MUST have!.......2000-06-13

I lived in Brazil for 3 years and love carnival and the music from Bahia. I have many of Olodum's CDs, and this one is one is great because it has some of the best songs from many of the old albums. Some of the tracks are sang with other important Brazilian singers, something that adds to the content of the CD. If you like brazilian music, it's a MUST have.

Before Piazzolla, Argentinean tango, whether performed in a Buenos Aires waterfront dive or cafe society boïte, was primarily music for a dance famously described as a "vertical expression of a horizontal desire." Da Vila has written some of the worlds greatest sambas. And though this three-disc set may be overwhelming neophytes, you gotta give the lable credit for documenting the highpoints of the man's thirty-odd-year career. Beginners may want to start with the more easily digested -- and budget priced -- "Serie Focus."

Samba till you drop.......2003-01-18

This CD collection is brilliant. Filled with loads of Samba and partido alto classics, it is a proud symbol of Brazilian music. Martinho da Vila's love of life should serve as an inspiration to us all. CD1 is definitely the best in the set. If you not familiar with Brazilian music but want to build up a collection, this album is a definite must.

Ivan Live is Amazing.......2006-07-26

Ivan Lins has recorded several live albums like:
The one with Irakere in Cuba, the one at the MCG in Pittsburgh and this one in Brazil celebrating at the time 20 Years of professional career; and all his live performances are perfect, just like the studio takes but with the thrill that only concerts can bring.

Here in this CD, every single cut is strong, so technically all of them are stand-outs!! he plays this repertoire (where several of these compositions have become Brazilian Jazz standards) in a very romantic note; very in-tune with the audience and the result is very pleasing.
My favorites are:
* Madalena - The standard that Elis Regina immortalized
* Setembro (Amada) - This one commercialized years ago by Quincy Jones & Take 6
* Dinoarh,Dinorah - Also commercialized in 1980 by George Benson
