Four songs into Los Remixes 2.0, the second song-reconstruction effort from A.B. Quintanilla and the Kumbia Kings, something happens. The disc transforms from just another mildly diverting crossover attempt into a pulsing collection of late-night club anthems. It's a new direction for Quintanilla, whose expertise is usually showcased on colorful cumbias and Latin pop ditties. Los Remixes 2.0 works, however, because the house versions of cumbia hits such as "No Tengo Dinero," Insomnio" and "Amores Como el Tuyo" are meticulously molded into entirely new songs. Kudos to production teams ROCASound and Nopal Beat, who clearly know what they are doing. Particularly effective are the ROCASound mixes of "Insomnio" and "No Tengo Dinero," which could settle in easily underneath the disco ball of any club. Los Remixes 2.0 also features a trio of new tracks: "Sabes a Chocolate," a remake of a two-decade-old Menudo hit (circa Ricky Martin) featuring 14-year-old vocalist Pee Wee Gonzalez; "Thug Like Me," a limp attempt at hardcore street cred; and "I Wish," an innocuous remake of R&B singer Carl Thomas's 2000 hit. C'MON, WHAT IS THIS???.......2006-08-22

ok, i've been a fan of kumbia kings for a while now, and i honestly have to say that this is one of the worst cd's i've ever heard!! there were only 2 songs worth listening to, and they are:

track 1: sabes a chocolate
track 10: insomnio (mano a mano remix)

another one that came close, but just didn't cut it was track 12: mi gente (king of banda mix). i think a.b. and cruz tried way too hard with this album. the albums before and the ones after this were 10,000 times better! my favorite still remains "shhh!"

ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT THIS CD? .......2005-02-28

I was at first excited to find this CD...but when I listened to it in my car for the first time...I was really dissapointed. There are at most, 3 songs that I enjoyed. For the most part, I did not enjoy the re-mixes of the songs "Insomnio, No Tengo Dinero" and others. The original songs are far better...not only that but how many of the same songs do you need re-mixed? Once again, there were only 3 songs worth listening to. So my advice is, if you have to own this CD, save some money...buy it used

Crap album.......2004-07-19

This album is nothing but a waste of money. Invest your money in thier olders cds, or if not at least K1 which is a awesome cd by the way. There is one new song on this cd, which is remixed a million times, along with the other ones. How many times can you remix a song? I mean come on, what are they wanting to be the chicano Diddy's. This cd is terrible, just download that one song if u like it, that sabes one. The rest of the album is really not worth it. If they are going to continue comming out with crap like this, they should just retire.

This album is so horrible. I stopped listening after the 4th song. If that does not tell you how bad it is, then I don't know what will. The Kumbia Kings can just stop now, because they have lost it! YUCK!
