It does not get better. The gold standard which anyone trying to solo on guitar over bossa nova should aspire to. Virtuosity with soul.

masterpiece of jazz guitar.......2006-08-14

Absolutely brilliant playing by Joe Pass and his fellow players.
Brazilian moods and some laid back jazz funk.
Excellent cd and should be in every jazz guitar fan's library.
I bought the original lp back then , in the "good old days" and I still have it. It is one of my all time favorites.
Anyway, get the cd and you'll love it !!!

Have you ever had the experience of initially not liking an album, then coming back to it later and discovering what a gem it is? That's what happend to me with Tudo Bem. I first encountered this wonderful album on vinyl not long after it came out. I was just getting into jazz and was still in a sort of never-never land between "real" jazz and fusion. For example, I thought Russ Freeman's Nocturnal Playground was the greatest thing going. (I have to confess I still have a soft spot for it because it helped get me into creative improvised music.) And I had just purchased Pass's great, but more fusion-tinged, album, Whitestone (which I'll probably review soon), was blown away, and was expecting more of the same.

Tudo Bem is actually quite straight-ahead for a self-consciously Brazilian date; that's probably what threw me. And, my ears were not yet conditioned to hear and appreciate authentic jazz. After having listened to the latter for the last 20 years or so, I came back to Tudo Bem with a totally different set of criteria about what makes music great. I can now appreciate the beauty of Pass's single-note runs, the sparkling creativity of his solos as he plays over the changes, the subtle conversation between the musicians.

Pass is best known for his virtuosity as a solo performer. But if you have any intrest at all in Brazilian-tinged acoustic music, you'll want to pick up this great outing by a jazz guitar master.

This song has some weird lyrics!
It's probally because it's brazilian. I'm from Spain
and the best song there is The ketchup song! everyone loves that song. Just like here in the U.S.A. people in Florida are dancing to this brazilian group Axe Bahia.

this CD was a real "find" as i bought it mostly just to hear Ben's "Violao" 7 nylon string archtop cutaway... what i discovered is a truly beauty-full recording with talented Luciana Souza singing Jobim's "Wave" & "Agua de Beber" as well as a gifted collection of musicians accompanying Ben Sher's great jazz guitar playing as well as a taste-full selection of originals & standards... just a joy to listen to thru & thru with plenty of Brazilian beauty in the vibes of the music !!! the band is outstanding & grooves sooo soul-fully !!! one of my favorite "cruisin' Hawaii in 'da Moonlight" CDs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told by a guitarist "in the know" to check this CD out. WOW!! The sidemen and vocalist are excellent, but the guitar work is extremely smooth and sophisticated. He's truly amazing - an artist at the top of his game. The only thing better than this CD would be if he could team up with Eliane Elias, like Hall and Evans used to do. But for the time being, this is pretty amazing stuff.

A Dance-pop Group who Act as a Brazilian Language Counterpart to the Vengaboys Or S Club 7, Axe Bahia First Formed in the Brazilian Resort Town Porto Seguro. Dancers Flaviana and Jociney were Fans of the "Axe" Music Scene (Dance Music Often Associated with Aerobics) and Decided to Work on an Act that Incorporated the Music They Loved Along with Dancing. Fun Brazilian AXE music for the whole family.......2005-04-13

AXE BAHIA is a sensation in Latin America and many parts of the world. They record very likable AXE style songs and perform them with a unique Brazilian choreography that appeals to young and old alike.

This record is a lot of fun, and it comes with a special VCD disc with video excerpts of some of AXE BAHIAs performances.

This is an awesome CD for anyone who wants to get introduced to Latin American pop! It has some awesome beats like 'Beijo na Boca' and its spanish twin, Tudo Bem, Ali Baba, Thu Thaca, and a number of others! Buy this CD! Some of the songs could use some work though, but for the price it is, it's very good.

Sure I don't understand what they are saying but I know a few words and all the dance moves, its definitly a great way to exercise plus this is something to Party to.... kinda like the Macarena or Lambada but 10 times better... I definately recommend it.

I'm really happy , because I live in the us and axe bahia is from all the latin countries and I was never able to find the original cd's , and now for the first time I'm so happy to finnaly get the cd's. So if you like music from brasil you should defenetly try this incredible cd's , their names are , "Tudo Bem" , "Tudo Bem 2" and "Vuelve la onda del verano" their artist is AXE BAHIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
