Barcelona brothers José and David Muñoz are at the top of the class of young, world-music-oriented musicians who have taken the centuries-old flamenco genre into new musical realms. On their second major-label recording (after 2001's self-titled Estopa), they perfect their riveting and rousing blend of rock, Caribbean, and Spanish styles. They mix Cuban backbeats with flamenco on the festive "Vino Tinto," and imbue "Jardin del Olvido" with a Texas-twanged country vibe. "El Blade," a new version of a track entitled "La Raja de Tu Falda," cuts like a hip-hop-honed knife, while "Te Vi Te Vi" rings with gypsy-fied vocal strains and "Nasio Pa la Alegria" rolls with a reggae-friendly bounce. Estopa sing about love, food, sin, and sex. It is, after all, a rock band, but with sabor. Eugene Holley, Jr.

5 out of 5 stars My favorite album.......2005-12-13

I love music and this is my favorite album. It is very sensual. The music is voluptuous and embraces you...

4 out of 5 stars Excellent!.......2005-06-14

Not too crazy about 2 or 3 songs in particular Jardin del Olvido and Ke Pasa, appears as if they ran out of ideas with those two but over all the rest of the album is great.

5 out of 5 stars Absolute Perfection!.......2004-03-02

The brothers from Barcelona, Spain, have created a musical masterpiece once again. In their second album "Destrangis," David and Jose Manuel Muñoz demonstrate their fantastic musical abilities in each one of the thirteen songs on this album.

The brothers give us a glimpse into their street-savvy lifestyle in the touch-of-rock song "El Blade". While "Ke Pasa?!" offers us some humor. The sorrowful song, "Te Vi Te Vi" is painfully beautiful and "Demonios" is catchy and steady.

The brothers of Estopa are geniuses when it comes to incoporating the Spanish guitar tastefully in each of the songs, while Muñoz's raspy voice adds a tough, flamenco quality. "Destrangis" contains unique tunes that can fulfill musical genres of all sorts.

5 out of 5 stars Truly enjoyable CD!.......2003-10-13

A bit of tradition intertwined with popular rock style, is what characterizes this CD. It is modern and hip, and includes lirics that go far from being common. Although the interpreters are young, they have managed to create great music with the spirit of the flamenco background. I should also suggest, their first album "Estopa", and their extended version of Destrangis - Which is called "Mas de estrangis", that includes songs that where performed in concert. By the way, does Sinatra ring a bell?

This cd is one of estopa best cds ever

4 out of 5 stars Mas Destrangis - Estopa.......2003-08-30

The CD is very good and the DVD is too however, since this release is an import, the DVD is coded for region 2 and can not be viewed on a regular DVD (US DVDs are Region 1 coded). So, unless your OK watching the DVD on a computer that allows you to change the regional settings, you're going to be very dissapointed because you won't be able to watch the the DVD.

5 out of 5 stars Viva España!! Viva Estopa!!.......2002-04-26

What a great cd. Estopa combines Flamenco with Pop and get a style of their own which is not only unique, but also fun to listen to. This is the second album for young Spanish group. Although they aren't well known yet, they definitely have stardom potential in the U.S. I first heard a song of theirs while I was in the media department of my local "Best Buy". Their song "Calorro" was playing. I was hooked from that moment on, but had a tough time locating the cd. They have not been marketed as well as one would hope. Latinos have made a big splash in the American Music Industry and this group has the potential to have the type of following "Shakira" or "Mark Anthony" has. The latest cd available has a-lot of potential and should have the same type of success as their first one. I'm looking forward to their next cd release. I can honestly say I hooked on Estopa!

... me da la vena; prefiero irme a los infiernos si no te como la boca!!!! Wooohoo!! David & Jose have done a wonderful job, who said that second parts aren't good? "Destrangis" is for all those ESTOPEROS who enjoyed like children with the first album.
If you clapped your hands with "El del medio de los chichos", if you were crazy about "Cacho a cacho", if "Como Camaron" made you dance, if you think that ESTOPA is just THE BEST SPANISH GROUP EVER (like me) then you HAVE to buy this album.
Honestly I think they're more than singers. They haven't changed since they started and that's what matters most.
Only one word can describe the album: OLE!!!!
