Tango is a Music of Diverse Origins as the Habitants of Argentina. Naturally, Musical Hybrids Flourish. As Hybrid Tango, the Members Max Masri (Synthesizers, Programming, Piano) and Diego S. Velazquez (Guitars, Piano, Synthesizers, Programming) Wanted to Close the Circle of the Idea of a Cosmopolitan Sound Fundamentally "Porteno" but Takes Different Elements and Ideas Like Electronic Music, Flamenco, Bossa Nova, Candombe, etc. This is a Parallel Project to Tanghetto.

This record is incredible because it mixes elements of tango, world music and electronica creating a great new sound. The idea behind this production I guess is to show the diversity of music that can be fusioned with taste, tango, jazz, flamenco, electronica.

One does not need a SACD Player to listen to this magnificient disk of sweeping, glorious and pervasive sound - the CD is good enough, and can be a preview of what could be heard on a SACD Player. I have rarely enjoyed better sound than this even on the latest DDD disks of brand labels.

Best sound SACD reissue yet:
clear, detailed, resolution, sound-stage, dynamics. Either 2 or 3 channel DSD SACD. Good old Dorati's performance has drive, good tempi.

Analog to SACD done right!.......2004-10-17

This new release of this near-legendary 1959 Dorati/LSO performance goes to the head of the class. Using the earlier CD release as a sonic guide (the series was originally overseen by Wilma Cozart Fine), Universal's audio engineers have, again, given us a nearly perfect transfer of the original master tape to this newest, most advanced digital medium. I can't imagine something more musically satisfying.

Excellent CD,

In my opinion better than narcotango (also good) and emigrante (great too).

This one has some groovy atmosphere and heavy bass not find any any other album that I know.

Under the name of HybridTango band.

I prefer this one, between many others.

It seems to me, a kind of unique conceptual opus.

One of the best Modern Tango albums I've listened to in a long time. With the Direction of Rudolf Werthen bringing intense emotion and full scale rhythm to this album, you are sure to be pleased. A true legacy album to Rudolf's enduring career.

Not recommended for a cheap and cheesy stereo system. Be certain that your stereo can play SACD/Hybrid CDs.

The pitfalls of ordering a SACD without due dilegence was demonstrated by my purchase of this SACD. I love tango music and Buenos Aires. This SACD is tango in the atonal mode. Some may like it but it is not classical tango. If Stravinsky were alive today this would be his tango music. Caveat Emptor! Listen to a portion of this SACD before you buy it.
