Customer Reviews:
excellent!.......2003-12-17
This time, Shalim voice is not so boyish. He worked on it and now I can tell he became a wonderful singer.
Shalim is the co - author of five songs in this album and he worked with great latin composers like Gianmarco, Emilio Estefan, Archie Peña and Nicolas Tovar. The second voices and chorus are from the panamanian duo "Gaitanes" (Ricardo y Alberto Gaitan); they've worked with Gian Marco, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin and India.
Emilo Estefan knows how to make an excellent musical production and Shalim knows how to get you with simple lyrics and great music.
The album starts with a strong song, Se me olvido tu nombre, an upbeat song with flamenco - pop rythm and curious lyrics (something like: "I forgot your name / I don't know if it was Maria, Encarnacion, maybe Mariana...)
Pecare has a pop - tropical beat, as a puertorrican, Shalim does an excellent interpretation of it.
Agua is one of my favorites songs. It's a depressive ballad with excellent voices; the lyric is simple and the music is sweet (It goes like this: This afternoon the scent of your hair told me no more / because I always look for you, you leave me and jealousy gets me / and your excuses are no consolation...)
Cuarto sin Puerta has a Spaniard rythm, but is not as catchy as Se me olvido tu nombre.
Donde corre la Sangre is my other favorite song. I love it. That's the second single of the album, a ballad with Spaniard influences, a great song to sing or to cry.
Misericordia is an upbeat song too, with african influences. Santa Cecilia is the latin pop song of the album, it has a great guitar work. you can dance to it and you can sing it.
A Radio Edit version of Se me olvido tu nombre closes this wonderful high quality CD.
I really recomend it.
Shalim gets better and better. His voice is unique.
