WOW!.......2005-11-30

I was introduced to the music of Cocoband in the early 1990's and I was immediately hooked. The rhythms are infectious and the horns lift your spirit and the enthusiasm with which the lyrics are delivered make you feel like you know what they are saying, even if you don't. I have a collection of several genres of music, but it is the latin music styles that I never tire of. Maybe it is partly because I long to understand the words, but it is also because of it's unique feel. It has no equivalent in other genres. I dare you to try and sit still while listening. Even the slower rhythms make you tap your feet.
I can think of no better reason to recommend Pochi & His Cocoband than it is just musical heaven!

This merengue band started the revolution with what is now known as street-fun-merengue. All their albums are rated No. 1.
too bad 6 years after the band got together, all the singers went out on their own.
I still enjoy this music....

Well, i don't know where to start about these loyal fans..........2006-07-01

Now look, i'm going to try to be as honest as i can put it. For one, this is not the same "Pochy" that literally exploded all of the merengue charts back in the early 90's. To me, this album is a cold hard fact about he has lost his edge (somewhat) the musical fire that has originally made him famous. Now don't get me wrong, on this c.d. there are some signs of him trying very hard to make his comeback. But lets face it, his "tiguerajes" just is'nt enough anymore to compete with todays types of merengues. In other words, "HE'S A WASHED UP HAS BEEN"... Just like Mike Tyson was in boxing, Pochy Familia is the same in the merengue... Yes, there are a few good songs that this album has to offer, but let's be real people, for all of the hard efforts, this just is'nt the same cocoband from before... do the comparison yourself, inbetween all and every one of his albums he ever made. and then you'll see what i mean...

The Pochy we all know and love- Pochy 2004.......2004-07-25

This is a sharp album by Pochy y su Cocoband. It is definitely for loyal fans and for those who have not lost faith in the genre. I was not aware of this new release but I did not hesitate to buy it when I was scouting for new cds. This is typical Pochy album with hard hitting beats, hilarious lyrics about everyday life and rhythms that will make you do only one thing-bailar. Once you buy it you will notice that this is the Pochy of old that made this band so popular in the 90's. The album has 12 tracks and they are 12 great merengues. My favorites are: #1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9. This is a Pochy y su Cocoband hall of fame album. Check it out!

Pochy Familia.......2004-04-13

Pochy is back where he started,at the top. This album is excellent and I recommended to anyone who wants quality and good sound.

A very nice album indeed. I like how in the song "el hombre llego paro" insiniuates how people are really like in Santo Domingo. I mean if you ever travel to Santo Domingo, people really act that way. And there's a lot of good versitality as well. In the merengues he kind of took the beats back to his old song "la flaca" the style that made him very popular in the early part of his career. Yes this is a very good album and it's one of the best he ever made!!!!!!!!!!! PapyDavid #1(el punal)

Pochy familia wrote his first big hit at the age of 17. Over the years he has maintained himself as one of the best of the new breed of merengueros that includes: kinito mendez, pena suazo, los hermanos rosarios and so forth. In cd pochy shows his evolution but yet keeps his origianl style that made him so popular in the early 90s. If you know your merengue and you listen to this cd you would understand why pochy's is so pupular. his knowlegde of merengue is unquestionable and this cd shows that.....

¡Un cocotazo!.......2001-08-18

Este es una excelente produccion de Pochy familia y la verdad es que estaba muy sorprendida cuando escuche el disco. Si te gusta el merengue rapido y golpeito aqui lo tienes. Tambien me gusta la letra de las canciones. No solamente vas a bailar harto sino vas a reirte tambien porque habla de cosas diarias y banales. Ademas usa mucho lenguaje de la calle para que suene comica. Cuando Cocoband era el grupo mas renombrado hace cinco anos y mas muchas de las canciones de este disco eran exitos en la discoteca. Recomiendo que te lo compres, no te vas a arrepentir. Las canciones que mas me gustan son: "El chisme"," Desesperacion" (es una salsa), "Me pongo bonito", "Y tu...te revisaste", y "Pensaste que moriria". Compratelo ya.
