My grandfather introduced me to this Mexican legend. He is equivalent to drinking music as Tupac was to thug music. and a bigger legend than him. don't believe me? ask any spanish speaking Mexican if they ever heard of him. Chalino doesn't have the greatest voice. but that doesn't matter. his lyrics and gritty sound makes him even more popular. Now that i drink- i can't think of anything else to listen to- english or spanish. whether he's talking about drugs or a heart break- his lyrics will touch you. this is the best spanish album to drink to.

This CD is Classic. Incluye the Hits like NIEVES DE ENERO, FLORITA DEL ALMA, ME PERSIQUE TU SOMBRA, and 5 STAR CORRIDOS LIKE JUAN AYON, LOS HERMANOS MATA, JUAN MACHADO, AND MARTIN FELIX. Definitely recommended.

I'm a newcomer to the whole Banda style music. For that matter I'm relatively new to Spanish music. Most gringos might automatically turn away at the first sound of the accordion but, it'd really be their loss. There's such soul and angst and joy in Chalino's verse. In his sound I can feel Mexico, the smell of tamales and sweaty bottles of cervesa frias being popped open. It takes me back to happier times when I'd pack up the Bug with my Girlfriend and head across the border. Sleep in the dives along the coast and eat greasy enchiladas while old men in colorful outfits and wildly brimmed hats strummed loudly on their gitarones. I thouroughly enjoyed the album and listen to it on my walkman while running. Great inspiring music. Love it.

One of Chalino's most entertaining..........2000-09-22

This CD is a must have for fans of Chalino Sanchez. It blends the romantic side of Chalino's music with the suspense filled "corrido", native to Mexico, and is entertaining throughout. Chalino Sanchez is now a legend among fans of norteno and banda style music throughout Mexico and the Southwestern United States; we must keep his legacy alive because there will never be another singer so great and influential as Chalino.
