music to drive fast to............2005-11-12

My best friend recently bought a sports car with a 300 horsepower V8 engine and asked me to recommend an album to play while driving REALLY fast. Without a second thought, I recommended Libido Speedway. I bought the album 5 or 6 years ago, and it remains a favorite. The music is catchy, aggressive, and great to listen to - especially on the road. The guitar is crunchy, and there's something very appealing to me about their basslines. It's disappointing that a band that could rock so hard never quite broke through, but in Libido Speedway they left behind a gem of an album. My favorite tracks are the opener - Yeah - and #8 - Noctournal Overdrive. Those two stand out, but every song on here is worth listening to. None of them disappoint. Also, if you can find them, I would recommend the Orbit single "I Wanna Make You", and the La Mano e.p.

One of the greatest albums ever.......2004-05-24

I saw this CD in Target one day and it was super cheap. I had never heard of the band or anything. I put it in my car CD player and it did not come out for over a month. It is hard to describe my amazement at how great this album was. It starts out fast and just keeps blaring. However, the lyrics and musicianship is amazing as well. Moreover, if you keep listening after the final track, there is a little bonus diddy that is impossible to get out of your head. I know that this band is no longer together, but I have bought their other CDs through the internet and they are great recordings as well. I don't for mentioning specific song title here, because all of the songs are equally great! If you find this CD some place, buy it! You will not regret it.

A grunge classic... revisited........2002-03-23

I saw these guys in Portland, OR, opening for L7. I can't find words for how awesome they were. This is one of my all time favorite albums, which I revisit again & again. Every song has it's own appeal, but Nocturnal Autodrive is my favorite.

well, not quite *that* good........2002-03-16

I searched for this cd for ages after the single "medicine" started getting airplay several years ago and caught my attention despite a bassline that's a bit too reminiscent of that of "bone machine" by the pixies. And for the most part the rest of the songs are every bit as good, catchy mid-90's alternative with big hooks and some well-used pixies-isms. here and there there's a song that seems a bit too generic to my ears to make a dent (hence the 4), but they're outnumbered by stand out numbers like "bicycle song" and "nocturnal autodrive". And there's an amusing little fake out ending to the whole thing as well.

Alternative/Grunge Mastery.......2001-07-09

What a surprisingly great CD, from a not too well known band. These guys really rocked out on this album, however I have heard some of their new stuff which is not even close to the greatness of this CD. Every song on this CD really rocks, if you are down with alternative, and love to rock out, definetly check out Libido Speedway.

Buck o nines best to date........2003-08-01

Libido and songs in the key of bree are the only real albums by this band that matter to me, though this cd seems to have taken a more poppy approach to some of the songs such as swimming in sand and on a sunny day i feel these are the stand out tracks because of this it's just happy beach ska. There is only one throw away track on libido and thats the last one as it's just no where near as interesting as the previous tracks in the offering and by that time you've heard all the good points of libido anyway, buck o nine appear to be one of the good ska bands around but some of the rock they play just seems a bit effortless and needs that bit more flare but i would seriously recommened Libido even over songs in the key of Bree.

Great Great Great.......2003-07-22

All you have to do is listen to "Tell it like was" and "swimming in sand" and you will love this album. They sound like Reel Big Fish, Sublime, and CIV all rolled into one.

Not Quite as good..........2000-12-15

Buck-O-Nine is one of my very favorite ska bands. The first ska CD I ever bought was 28 Teeth. After listening to that I got really into ska... The CD is good and all, but it does not match up with their others. I personally think you should but some of their other CDs instead of this one, but if you have those feel free to get this one... I just think they didnt do as good of a job with this one.

This is really cool and enjoyable ska punk album. This album has a real feel good feeling to it and it will bring out the best in anyone. My personal favorite tracks are 'Headlines', 'Who are they?' and 'Awkward Girl', but if the ska punk thing is your scene then I can guarantee you will love this album. Not everyone will like this album, some may feel it is too slick or poppy and not punky enough but if you are after a good fun, unpretentious album then you can do a lot worse than this.

Another Good Album.......2000-10-07

Buck-O-Nine have been one of my favorite bands for a long time, ever since my brother came home with one from a trip of their early CDs back when he was in eighth grade (he's now a senior in high school). I loved this combo from the start, ska, comedy, and rock, although they used to have a little more punk which I wish was more common here. This CD has some of the best drums, they keep perfect beat with the horns and the sneering vocals. This CD is really produced, which is usually bad but on here makes it sound a lot better. Oh well. This is in my player a lot, I recommend it.

The best songs are Who Are They?, Swimming In Sand, Tell It Like It Was, and All Along. I personally think them, along with Mustard Plug and Aquabats are the best ska bands.

This album from the peruvian rock band is recomended for all those who are looking for good rock and who know what real rock is, well this album has it all. Good guitars, Drums and great vocals. The band can play its music very softly or Very hard rocking. The lyrics are all right, i don't think there is a weak track in here. the album opens with ESPERMATO which is pure rock then ESTOY TAN GRIS that is a mixture of soft and hard rock. FRAGIL,the first single, has one of the best guitars.and the album goes so on with great songs. I cant tell you all of it because you have to hear it for yourself.

Me encanta esta album por su originalidad y la calidad de musica que contiene. este album de libido es mejor que el primero y mejor que 'hembra' pero por poco. se esnuentra nuevos y mejorados sonidos de libido con mejor ritmo y lleno de grandiosas canciones. mis favoritas serian 'fragil','invencible' y 'sin rencor' que deberia haber sido un single. salim canta mejor que nunca con una seguridad tremenda y el resto del grupo crean muy buenos sonidos a cada cancion en adicion a los vocals de salim. muy bueno en verdad. comprenlo!

This album is simply perfect. It has the perfect music for a real rock concert and the vocals are so intense and so conected with the music. This is naturally the best album of libido yet and it's full on epics like 'fragil','invencible' and the multipart 'Sin Rencor' wich is considered on of the best song from their three albums: Libido, Hembra, Pop Porn.

If I could describe this album with only one word it would be Brilliant because that is what this album is. It's a piece of art with great music and great vocals and it's very good balanced, with hard and soft tracks and it contains one of their best song ever "Fragil" and you don't know what you are missing if you don't have this album because this album is very promising and is the best peruvian album ever.

Libido failed again. Just when I thought that it couldn't exist worst material than "Pop Porn", this guys made this one, yes, even worst than "Pop Porn". It seems like they are losing their strength as the years are passing by... silly songs, absurd melodies, flat instrumentation and no inspiration at all. A boring record... zzzzzz...

Sadly little known.......2007-04-25

A little known and sadly overlooked punk band they have a sound similar to most late 80s punk bands having a slightly 'pop' sound to them. Decent tracks but slightly short, if you like early Green Day (not the God awful rubbish they brought out later), early fall Out Boy, Descendents etc you will like this.

Going on the price of the used and new for a couple of dollars worth a listen.
