Excellent music - poor recording quality.......2003-10-11

I was disappointed by the recording quality of this CD. The sound is very flat and muffled. Compare "Cali pachanguero" from this album to the same track on Grupo Niche's Serie Azul Tropical CD and you'll find that the latter has an audibly cleaner sound. I'd also recommend Greatest Salsa Classics (of Colombia) Vol. 1 instead of this CD. That album features Joe Arroyo's "Pa'l bailador" and "Rebelión".

I am picky when it comes to salsa music. If the album or CD doesn't have almost all of the music in it good and danceable, then I won't buy it....I am utterly impressed with this CD (all the songs are good!) and I would definitely recommend it because you will not be bored!

Colombian Classics.......2002-05-29

Any Colombian person who has heard and felt this cd knows what im talking about. Despite the things that are going on any salsa fan knows that these songs were once classics and still are.

Underappreciated ethnic jewel..........2005-09-04

This is the sort of thing that inspires boom boxes to be installed in the junk cars of low-income Spanish Harlem and Jackson Heights (Queens, NY). This music is being played in salsa bars across the borough of Queens. Oscar D'Leon and Puerto Rican Power join beautifully in this collection. Definitely a household ethnic Latino jewel that every serious ethnic salsa aficionado should own.
