if you are looking for the music from the movie satate of siege by costa gavras, don't buy this CD.

Great music, Great message........2004-07-30

I bought this album when I was 19 yrs old. My plan was to give it to my dad as a present. He loves Latin american history and I love music. I ended up keeping the album mostly for the music in it which I've loved. Back then I wasn't paying too much attention to the lyrics. But now (6 yrs later) that I've also developed a great love for Latin American history and history in general, I can truly appreciate these songs both musically and lyrically. The reading of the letter from Che to Fidel is also a great one to listen to. I would give this CD 9 out of 10 if I could only because there are a few volume issues especially in the first 10 seconds of the 2nd track (my favorite track "hasta siempre comandante", but that is the only bad thing. Otherwise it would be a 10, it still is a great cd to have, great voices, great music, various styles of music and contains a piece of history as well.

I luck out again.......2004-02-15

I tend to buy things that "look good", even though I'm unfamiliar with the artist. I bought this when I was in Cuba, and was amused to find out it was made in Canada. But, I obviously was destined to travel many miles in order to hear this beautiful music.
Get it. Have I ever steered you wrong before?

Republica Dominicana nos regalo la REINA DEL MERENGUE y ya es parte de Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Colombia, Estados Unidos y en todos los lugares en donde su grandiosa musica ha llegado. La Sra. Milly Quezada ha sido una gran inspiracion para muchas de las merengueras mas exitosas. Como por ejemplo Jessica Cristina, Gisselle y Miriam Cruz. Todas se lo demostraron en el programa de Cristina Saralegui titulado "Las Reinas Del Merengue". Este disco de Milly es simplemente unico en su estilo. Los arreglos, los musicos, los coros y la voz unica de Milly. "Hasta Siempre" fue la supuesta despedida de Milly de los escenarios, pero parece que se dio cuenta de ni ella puede vivir sin su publico y nostros sus admiradores no podemos vivir si ella. Luego de esta supuesta despedida Milly Quezada lanzo dos maravillosas producciones "Vive" y "Tesoros De Mi Tierra". Los mejores temas del disco lo son "Lo Tengo Todo", "Quizas" y "Por Que Me Amastes". Este es uno de los mejores trabajos de la dueña y señora del merengue.
