DON'T LISTEN TO ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT THIS ALBUM BECAUSE THEY AREN'T TRUE. THIS IS THE MAYIMBE..YOU CAN'T JUST LISTEN TO SOMETHING ONCE AND THEN REVIEW IT. THIS ALBUM IS DEFINITELY ON POINT IT HAS BACHATAS, MERENGUES, AND ONE BALAD. A MUST BUY CD!!!

Weak, weak...Gave it a 3 cause of his history...........2002-01-04

I really don't like this album. I can honestly admit, I haven't gave it much of a chance, but the album is weak.....I only like one bachata and the merengue "Alegre Conga". The rest of the album is bad....The bachatas are too slow and don't really have much of a meaning as to what a good bachata is....The lyrics are ok at best....The only reason I gave this album 3 stars is because of Antony's history and past work...His last three albums haven't been all that great...It disappointed me that I eagarly waited for about two years thinking he was going to make a comeback from his previous album that I did not like much, but it just got worst......I'm sorry to say it cause I really like Antony Santos, but not this album...Hopefully he'll make a good album next time around....I can't bear to hear these bachatas when they get played at clubs, cause they really don't get me up to dance and Antony Santos is too good to be making such weak songs....Luckily Raulin is still making quality music....Antony Santos is going in the direction of Luis Vargas....Making weak albums that are being sold because of their fame and past music...

Quede impresionada con este cd del Mayimbe-Antony Santos. Es excelente, no hay palabras para definir este disco estelar. Lo tenia por un mes sin escuchar y cuando lei los comentarios de las otras personas, me motivaron que lo escuchara y desde este momento no he podido parar. Antony Santos rompio récord. Todas las bachatas son buenas. Son dulces, suaves, ritmicas y por supuesto la voz de Antony le da al disco el toque de belleza. No es necesario explicarte mas porque si ya tienes musica del Mayimbe estoy segura de que me entenderas. Antony nos hizo esperar casi dos anos por este disco nuevo pero nos reafirma que su lugar en el mundo de la bachata es la cima. Pruebalo.

Antony Santos vuelve a deleitarnos con su bachata con sabor a pueblo. Presenta una fotografía de las costumbres y gustos del pueblo cibaeño. Sigue siendo el bachatero #1 de Republica Dominicana.

Wow it's been almost 2 years since an "El Mayimbe" album was out. The fans were obviously worried that he was basically done(rumors). However, he took his time off to relax, and now he's ready just like "El BALAZO". 10 tracks filled with "Mayimbe-style" bachatas and merengue that was lacking in recent bachata today. The best bachata song is "Me Quiero Morir", about dying if his love is not with her. I play this track all the time, but don't disregard the other tracks. Overall, he has added elements like a piano riff to a couple of songs, and his patented "mambo" breaks in the bachatas has added more flavor to his production. The merengues are very good while adding his weird choruses (Check "Se metio chiquito). Well, "El Mayimbe is back like a BALAZO" YEAH.....TU MAYIMBE MAMA ANTONY SANTOS
